Blue Literature was a snooze fest. Reminds me of Kurozuka with its slow and methodical pacing.
I'm not expecting Explosions and Sex by Michael Bay from it, it is based on old Japanese literature.

Now if only some fansubbers would pick it up...

Yes! This may be the season that I finally get into anime so I know what my friends are talking about!

Damn : (
Maybe next year.

Bakemonogatari, motherfucker.

And Umineko too.

Hey man, I was fully aware that it would be slower paced. Just not to the point where it dulled all my senses. :lol There is a sex scene, btw. :lol

Huh, Seitokai no Ichizon's surprisingly enjoyable. At least, I like it, although that might just be my latent pedophilia rearing its ugly head.

I liked the first episode but got tired of the shtick halfway through the second. :lol

Fairy Tail has the worst cast of VAs I've ever seen in an anime. Everyone sounds out of place. Natsu doesn't sound like a young boy. Happy sounds like Rie Kugimiya (oh wait, she is, lol). Lucy is awful Hirano.

The animation's nothing special and feels cheap.

I made it through the first, but really didn't like it. For whatever reason, I downloaded the second episode but stopped after about a minute and deleted it.

I'm about halfway through the first episode, and I've enjoyed it up to that point. I guess it might get tiring at the second episode, though--I'll have to see.

Always gotta have a sex scene. Back in my day...

I'll probably still give this a shot if anyone ever subs it, but I'll likely be bored out of my mind as well.

Gilgamesh, what is your avatar from?

I started Darker than Black about 2 weeks ago, It's looking really good. Don't think I'll watch much of the current shows, they don't look so good :/

Didn't expect to see all the Fairy Tail hate here. I thought it was a really good episode. The music is fitting and I have no problem with the VAs. Only thing I thought could've been much better was the OP. I only read the first 7 chapters of Fairy Tail a while ago, but it definitely seemed like it would get a lot more actiony and seeing very little of Natsu fighting (or any fighting for that matter) was a bit disappointing. I'm sure the series will last at least to a second opening, so maybe that will make up for this one.

My biggest complaint is Happy to be honest. Happy is a MALE cat. Yeah sure, female VAs voice male characters all the time, but really now? Happy's VA is not suitable at all. They did not need to put Rie Kugimiya to the task.

I guess it's expected for a cute animal to have a cute female voice regardless of gender. Only one I can think of off the top of my head that isn't like that is Yoruichi and that for plot related reasons (kind of). I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of characters, but still, I like Happy's voice. Kind of reminds me of Chopper which I also think fits.

Of course, as I said before, I only read the first 7 chapters of Fairy Tail back when it started, so something down the line might make me realize how unfitting his voice.

Darker Than Black 2! He's a new character.

I thought the first was great, definitely keep going with it.

As a manga, Fairy Tale was nothing special or groundbreaking, but it is still fun and perfectly enjoyable. It deserves a better pilot episode than this, IMO. I just hope things get uphill from here, but that rarely happens.

Judging by what we've seen, he's definitely a big character from this point on. You could almost say he's the Russian version of Hei--like a rival, of sorts. I don't think he'll die anytime soon.

He looked pretty dead to me. :lol His body bag was in the preview, too.

I love the manga so I'm pretty exited for this.

Does anyone know a place from which I can import the sixth volume of the manga with the DVD?

:lol nice.

When does DtB air? Can't wait for the second episode.

It's not even licensed as far as I know.

And Japan IS Region 1, last I heard.
I thought they moved to letters making them region A?

Regardless, Japanese and American Blurays are the same region, which is why I'm excited for stuff that gets released with English subs in Japan even if it doesn't come over here.

I'm interested in watching Darker Than Black Season 2, but is it necessary to get caught up with the first season?

I'm watching Darker Than Black Season 1 right now and it's pretty good. I mean why watch the second season and not the first?

Yeah someone at animesuki forums confirm it and the release date being today for both the DVD and Blu Ray. Gonna wait for the Blu Ray version to watch it with my new HDTV I just got. :D

I guess it being that so many other shows have stalled out on fansubbing from spring/summer and this current lineup just doesn't do much for me. That, and for some reason, the only CR show I can ever remember to try/keep up with is Naruto. Enjoying some of the classic SR and old school stuff that's been humming along and popping up lately---but definitely a lull as of late. Maybe Winter will be better.

OK thanks, yeah I like the style of the anime very much. Great animations all around too.

Kimi ni Todoke is good stuff :D

You know, this is the first time that I'm aware that I'm watching a shoujo show and on an academic level, I find it fascinating how similar it is to a lot of American teen girl narratives. Girl doesn't fit in, gets picked on, but slowly blooms and becomes the center of attention. I guess Japanese girls have the same anxieties. I'm just curious if the show itself is drawing a female audience. I got the impression that something like Marimite survives on the male audience, despite its intended demographic.

I actually enjoy it as well.

She was kinda annoying at first but the pace is going faster than I thought, I figured it'd take months to get to where we did on episode 2 so I think this show will be just fine.

That other HS girl drama, Sasameki Koto, now that shows is painful to watch, ugh.

Dunno about this new OP (haven't watched season 2 yet, will marathon it later) but Yin was shown in like 2 promo artworks for season 2 so of course she's alive.

I can't remember, was Rave Master good or bad? I guess it never really grabbed my attention so I didn't watch much of it which makes me lean towards bad but I can't remember really disliking it, maybe I just didn't give it a fair shake.

Only in the very beginning, though--all later promotions completely omitted her. Factor that with how her VA isn't listed, her character isn't on the DtB site, and all the leaked spoilers never mention her existence--it was enough for some worried speculation.

Of course, it could just be a ghost or something. Who knows?

This is a couple days old, but I just watched FMA Brohood episode 27. Recap episodes blow. :/

Also, Kuuchuu Buranko day. Fuck yes.

Oh that makes sense.

I can see her as a ghost, hopefully the manga clear this up.
