Either way, even modern Sunrise isn't putting all their eggs in one basket, so it seems they can afford to diversify and take risks within the limits of their own conservatism.
They'll still have Gundam in not just one but two flavors this season. Cross Ange could potentially bomb or at least perform below expectations and it won't be the end of the world. They can also make even more profit next year with Gundam The Origin, more Love Live or more Code Geass (in spite of Akito releasing at a snail's pace), among other things.
