I don't even know what I just watched anymore.

SDBurton

World's #1 Cosmonaut Enthusiast
Unfortunately.

SDBurton should totally marathon Suite once he's done with whatever he's on now, I think he'd appreciate it in ways that the rest of us can't.

What show is it again?

I'll start it today.

At this point, anything with two women in it is enough for him. lol

Not true! >:I

I just appreciate what little GL we get nowadays. I'm not some snoot like you! :p

You see this, SDBurton? You see? You know what you have to do.

Challenge accepted.

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 4
The manly buffet continues.

Sword Art Online 17
We discover the terrible fate that Asuna is suffering from. She can only see the world in extreme jpeg compression. My my how horrible.

Space Brothers 30
So we finally have lift off and yet we're told the next episode if also about lift off. This is Kaiji levels of stretching out.

Joshiraku 11
Fanservie ahoy. Am I still the only one who has Purple as their favourite?
As usual the second part is the weakest. It basically came off as a tourist information guide.

That stuff with space & Jupiter kinda loses me. It's neat, it's fun, but it also comes after Shin Getter vs Metal Beast Dragon & the Stoner Sunshine event. That's such an amazing highpoint for the show that everything afterwards (possibly with the exception of the fleet of Getter stuff) feels like a decline albeit a gradual one.

Oh I certainly agree. That whole part of the show was clearly the highlight. After all, it had amazing moments like this:

I noticed that there hasn't been much mention of the voice casting for the flashbacks in episode 4. It seems that even for episodic casting, the series goes all out. The young Yoshino is played by Houko Kuwashima, and the young Mahiro is Yuko Sanpei. It worked out pretty well, and unlike the casting for the regular Yoshino and Mahiro, there's no ambiguity about the ability for the actresses here to carry the character defined roles - Kuwashima is really experienced in playing scheming characters who tend to hide their true feelings, while Yuko Sanpei is a great fit for the headstrong and more reckless sort of character.

Kingdom 17 - 21

Finally caught up. Damn, episodes 19-21 were almost all crappy CG, terrible stuff, I think episode 18 had some nice 2D art with different shading, didn't look bad at all. I keep thinking how nice the show would look if it was animated in the style of the second ED, it really fits the show well, but we're stuck with the ugliest CG in the history of the universe.

Other than that I had some fun with these episodes, if the show looked better I would really enjoy it, I'm not gonna lie, I've got a soft spot for shounen stuff. What could have influenced the high (for this show) level of my enjoyment was the fact that I watched Canada Cup simultaneously, so I might be a little light on the criticism, but who cares anyway.

I think its a good series in the genre ignoring visuals, especially the Xin and wanting to becoming a general as well as the large scale of battles and against these insurmountable outnumbered foes.

Are the goggles surgically implanted lenses at this point?
The twist is, he never wore goggles at all!
:SDBurton

Nah, trust me, there's just enough there for the goggle implants to go RED ALERT, hahah.

You see this, SDBurton? You see? You know what you have to do.
Ah, PG finger sex?

You and your "peasant yuri"! lol
(Thanks Ultima :p)

Smile is just as bad as Heartcatch anyway.
Hah, maybe. :p

I'll admit that it's definitely much better than Campione, Arcana Famiglia (I know you loved this one, sorry:(), Estetica and Kannazuki no Miko, all shows I've seen in the past few months and that have lowered my standards substantially lol.

Granted, it sounds like you're a newer fan trying to branch out and if you were willing to share what specifically you liked about DBZ and FMA, we could provide more specific recommendations.
I of course liked the battles in DBZ, but I think I prefer DB thanks to it having more of a story focus than go place > do battle.
I guess characters/story is a given, humour is nice, and a bit of action or violence never goes amiss. I know DBZ/FMA are both about magic in one form or another, but it's not essential. I'm open to anything really, although when the main character of something is a cute little girl it's kind of off-putting.

I also have Akira, which I liked but thought was anti-climactic. (Did I blaspheme?)

Keep in mind I went by the stuff you said you liked and recommended something that's similar (in a way, at least).
If you really want the goods (regardless of the genre) you should watch Tsuritama and Hyouka (and the aforementioned Fate/Zero) to get the best out of 2012 in anime (out of the shows that have finished broadcasting).

But if you really REALLY want the goods (regardless of age), in my opinion every anime newcomer should watch Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Cowboy Bebop is one I've heard of. Based on that, I may have to put it at the top of the list. That reminds me, I need to make a list.

Impressive, thank you.

So! Chuunibyou. Best show this season, or best show this season? I honestly haven't laughed this much since... well, any anime ever.

It's my favorite show of the season next to Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun.

It's pretty dumb but it's fun and that's what I love most about it.

Maybe it's because I'm an old man and it reminds me of my crazy childhood adventures. I don't know, but usually when I'm done watching an episode my face hurts from smiling so much. Also, yeah! Tonari no Kaibutsu is really good. There are actually a lot of watchable shows this season, for that matter.

Today was catch up day after my week with Madoka. Lots of light stuff to help unscramble my brain.

Chuunibyou: Episode 4
Still delivering. Not much more to be said really without beating the dead horse. Cheerleader is basically the same a Yutta, except cute.
Rikka abuse is still the best thing.

My Little Monster: Episodes 2-4
This show is hitting all the right notes. The art is pretty unique, and a pleasure to look at. My favourite opening this season easily.

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou: Episodes 1-3
Now here's a show I can get behind, I love cats. It's a whole lot of dumb fun, and kept me chuckling. Working girl is the best girl.

OniAni: Episodes 2 & 3
I looked at Winter's list and thee don't seem to be any shows about little sisters with brocons or vice-versa. Guess I'm not watching anything next season then.

I'm not really that impressed with the OP's this season, I only really like Jo Jo's one and that's in large part due to the awesome opening theme. I guess Magi has a pretty cool one as well.

It's equally easy to pick a best ED - From The New World - nothing even comes close.

Speaking of "best of" season stuff, have we done OP/ED rankings? I think there's pretty distinct ones this season.

OP
Btooom! - Best song
Blast of Tempest - Best animation
K
Psycho Pass
Magi - Grew on my and catchy
Robotics;Notes
Jormungand Perfect Order - UnderShaft full version is not bad
Little Busters!
Code:Breaker
Chuunibyou - Sparkling Daydream is good
Ixion Saga DT: DT DT DT DT DT DT DT DT DT DT
Hiiro no Kakera 2, Pet Girl of Sakurasou, JoJo, My Little Monsters, Gyrozetter

ED
From The New World (Shin sekai yori) - its catchy and looks good
Blast of Tempest - those visuals, and then the newest ep versions

Psycho Pass - Egoist ftw
Ixion Saga DT - perfect visual choices, especially Variation, and KT
Code:Breaker
Bakuman 3 - its no Monochrome Rainbow but is still good
K - good song could do with less nekkid Neko imo.
Chunnibyou - Inside Identity is good song, not so good visuals.
everything else

It's sad for me to have to report that OP for Skyfall isn't that great. It's not a patch on Casino Royale's.

Probably the most interesting show this season at the very least. I'm still betting on Say I Love You.

I don't think it's the best this season, but I'm sorta enjoying it so far.
You say that as you wear your tiny hat.

They should have got Claris to sing it.
