Seriously, Groovy Tune was really, really good for a glorified commercial. It paid perfect attention to body language and atmosphere, it was filled with lively animation and it was cute as hell. I kinda want to do a Jex-style post about it due to how good it was.
I haven't seen the full OVAs yet but a Jexhius style post written by 7Th(and about Idolm@ster) sounds interesting. If you're up to it I'd certainly read your write up.
agreeing to hook herself up to the brain-link machine
, but I suppose genkis gonna genki. Lan's speech was cringey in more ways than one, but it ended up going into heart-attack territory so I can't complain.
the Vox save each of the girls at the last possible moment
was really awkward. By the time
not-
Madoka's came around, all the tension was gone and all I could think about was how pornographic
Yurikano getting pressed into by the crystals(including a shot of some going into her butt)
was.
I also wasn't terribly fond of
Madoka and Yurikano randomly swapping back into their original bodies upon touching Dizelmine.
Is there an explanation for that I missed, or is it just chalked up to inscrutable space magicks?
The mech combat was good stuff through and through, however.
Rinne no Lagrange 19
In this episode, everyone discusses what happened last episode. And Yurikano is revealed to be a huge slut.
While there were a number of warning flags going up, closing the episode with this shot tells me that shit is about to get real. Prepare your anus, Madoka.
These are all good choices - I particularly agree about Nishiya and Saito - but I do have to point out that your last attribution is incorrect. Yoshifumi Kondo, rest his soul, did character designs for Ghibli films such as Grave of the Firefiles and Only Yesterday, but the designs for Kiki's were done by Katsuya Kondo, who also handled those for Ponyo and From Up on Poppy Hill.

Still enjoying this and hoping the show will take its own route, completely separating itself from the manga plot (of which I know nothing, but I trust the majority of people that said it's shit). The art seems much better now, probably a different animation director for this episode? The ending got me pumped for next week.
I dont know, I guess I just find older characters to be a bit unappealing and kind of baffling to be experiencing adventures on the high seas. Shes at or near the age where she should start considering other occupations I think. But mainly, its her VA in the anime that gives her the impression that she is older than what her listed age is.
If Im watching an anime Id rather not be repulsed by characters that I could care less about and at least see some good looking well designed and unique ones. Just look at some of the more recent anime that excel in great designs and how you can still have a wide variety of good unique designs even when characters ages are relatively kept younger and in the same side of the ballpark (K, From The new World, Kimi to Boku, Uta no Prince Sama, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Kuroko's Basketball, Code:Breaker). Being creative without being ugly is something creators ought to strive for.
A bunch of boring stuff, then a (neat) action scene and then it got boring again. At least the action lasted a bit longer, and the animation still looked great, where did they get the budget from? I expect the show to be all action from episode 7 onward or else I'll be really unsatisfied.
I honestly thought Shiro was innocent and the ending of episode 4 happens. I know there are 4 more kings to introduce (Golden, Red and Colorless already known) and I wonder if they plan to go after Shiro.
Nice selection. I love Watanabe, his girls <3 You know, Watanabe reminds me a lot of Kuuchuu Yousai's work. He did the art for Djibril, and I think I was actually getting the two mixed up in my head when I was looking through some images.
Wait... Nurse Witch Komugi is one of Watanabe's... this is.. wait, who is this costume-wearing, sometimes-tanned, DFC hottie?? Be still... my beating heart.

I really hope it gets expanded to a second season or something. But I like the random landscape views they give especially the underside of the bridge they also show.
Awashima's moment felt kind of unnecessary looking back.

With all the talk about Mr. Dezaki & Mr. Sugino, I'll use the opportunity to shoe-in again the Treasure Island opening, just because it is that amazing and loved
