I certainly enjoyed this series much more than I expected to. I only wished there weren't so many episodes to go through. While a good number of them were there to help build the viewers interest in the yet to be Precures
"Beat" - Ellen/Siren, and "Muse" - Ako
I felt that a few episodes could've been snipped to not prolong the eventual outcome for those specific arcs.
Another minor gripe I had was the lack of Waon. Why in the hell
did she not have a chance to become a Precure? She has a lot of the traits and the ability to make her a valid candidate. While she may not have expressed a vocal interest in music I'm sure she was a fan all the same.
And that chemistry between her and Hibiki... my god it was intoxicating! My secondary OTP of HibikixWaon became stronger the further we reached the end of the show, largely due from the focus shift of Hibiki and Kanade onto the later to be Precures.
That aside, the yuri beams, the blushing, and the fingersex finishing moves made this really fun to watch. I look forward to watching Smile (whenever that may be) as people find that show to be more enjoyable in comparison to Suite.
I'm super late to the party on this one, but man.....I can't remember the last time I got chills watching an anime series.
When the mother said she didn't want to lose anymore children, solidifying the cues that something fucking terrible DOES in fact happen if the kids don't receive that visit
Can't wait to see more. This got rid of that nasty taste SAO left in my mouth.
Skateboarder douche got his dues finally, Seri had a more prominent role in this episode which therefore makes it the best one yet regardless of the dumb awkward moments between Fushimi and Yata.
Shounen battles are the only time I can tolerate Nisio's long-winded nature. Yeah, the fight had talking, but it also had KUROKAMI PHANTOM! Great episode.
I thought Takachiho's little flashback was VERY well done. In seconds and with no words, we're essentially given his entire motivation, and it was enough for us to empathize with the guy. That and the music and direction when flashing back to the present accompanying the scene was effective as hell. Definitely an awesome end to the episode.
Decided to take a break from my Macross 'schedule' and watch something a little different.
My deciding to watch this series is based solely on the wealth of praise centered around it from people here. I can almost immediately see why. Not factoring the possible implications of the story, the animation and atmosphere is uniquely it's own. Though the story took the semi-typical "I don't know anything, explain it to me" route, it felt more genuine than, say, Psycho-Pass' Akane lack of knowing. The style of the technology felt fresh, It mainly focused on a sort of holographically aided society, but the depth and feeling that more lied beneath was lingering. A good way to make a viewer press forward at any rate. Seeing the character design before hand made me think it might be a little bit too quirky for me, but that sentiment was quelled pretty immediately. It's very nice to look at.
Very quality episode one. Looking forward to more.
Dude, I love this show so much. One of my favorites, really. It also had some fantastic animation the entire series, and it managed to be continually creative and entertaining. Hope you enjoy it.
Ooh boy. What a disappointment. Everything from the plot to the characters was woefully weak. First off, the three characters coming together didn't convince me. Unless I missed something, the girl was simply thrown in to further the plot and set up the romance. I think we were supposed to assume that the relationship that brought the three together took place off-screen. Doesn't excuse the problem, but I can write it off.
Sadly, it didn't get any better. Right after the children arc, the film moves to the present situation, and we're warmly greeted with 20 or so minutes of scientific info-dump. Not even mildly interesting and I saw a few leave the theatre at this point. Afterwards, many boring minutes, seconds, milliseconds, and even nanoseconds of conflict and romance were had and eventually the movie ended. Thank god.
That scene at the end where the girl is all "Omg i got to remember dis fleeting feeeling!! sobsobsob" was so goddamn cringe-worthy.
Bad melodrama is how I will remember this film. At least the visuals were great, as with all of Shinkai's work. That one scene where the sky turns from dark to slightly bright and you can see the shadows of the clouds was incredible!
Hmmm interesting impressions. It feels like it's been a while since I've seen The Place Promised in Our Early Days. I don't remember the characters or the dialog being particularly interesting, but I do remember enjoying it. A lot of the plot felt pretty tiresome, but I did enjoy the build up to the plane launching, and the ride to the tower. I felt that was really the height of the show, and there were a couple of scenes there that made it worth watching to me.
On that note, I've been meaning to watch Children who Chase Lost Voices from Below, worth watching, or not really worth it?
Well, the problem with saying that something gets a pass for being an early example of toilet humor is that it would have to be my personal first exposure to that humor to see any novelty in it. I had a childhood full of it and I just don't care for more.

Yeah, welcome to the uneven episode quality that plagues all Precure series. You get amazing episodes, you get boring episodes that only exist to preach to kids about NEVER GIVING UP and DOING YOUR BEST, you get episodes that would be okay but are 100% recycled from episodes of previous series. If there's one constant about modern Toei, it's that its shows vascillate between inspired and completely phoned in from episode to episode with little rhyme or reason to it.
One thing about Suite is that it's actually probably the worst of the modern Precure series in how it handles its characters.
Ellen's conflict over her past evaporates way too quickly, Ako is introduced as a main too late to get any quality characterization, and the theme of "conflict" between Hibiki and Kanade peters out halfway through instead of exploring progressively more fundamental forms of division between the two like I felt it should have
. I'll give Suite that it's more ambitious than most other Precure series in what it tries to do with its characters, but it just couldn't muster the creativity or good writing to take any of this stuff to a satisfying conclusion.

Knew you'd like it! You're probably the only person here who can actually claim to actively look forward to seeing transformations each week, so........congrats, lol.
...the fuck is this? You should never draw the lower crease of the buttocks sagging on the weight-bearing leg! And you probably shouldn't draw an overlap on the balancing side either. Aauugghe.
For my own sake I probably should have watched Ep. 1 over again as it has been a while since I've seen it, if only to remember names and such. I generally knew what was going on, though.
I really love the dark, mysterious feel of the show. The conspiracy aspect of it helps enhance the intrigue.
Hei's got a fucking badass weapon. I'm not totally sure how it works, but it's brutal as hell.
Wow... finally a nice episode... yes, it was different from the manga, but it was much, much better than the shitty start we've got. The end of the episode is pretty powerfull, just like in the manga. Nice!
God, I still cringe everytime I see that ending...

I asked about it here at one point, and the opinion was unanimously negative. And what's worse, it's not about an eldritch god beckoning children to prepare for the stars to align and the end of days as the title led me to believe.

Do it! You'll blow through just on the Akane x Nao fantasies alone.
Also, unless you want to be totally completionist, there's a Suite Precure movie but I'd strongly recommend that you skip it. It's the single worst work from the entire franchise that I've seen--it's more lifeless than the most lifeless Precure filler episode and three times the length. Just get a jump start on Smile.
Short term gain but a long term loss due to posters going MIA and folk avoiding the drama. What we need is a show like SAO to engender discussion but hopefully a good one this time around!
So that one girl is a hired assassin. She probably has a sad story as to why she's doing it too. Besides that, not much actually happened, just more harem antics. They keep teasing with Minato's sister and this male sekirei that she ran into, but that plot really hasn't gone anywhere yet, at least now it has a direction.
Drunken lesbian sex in your bed? It could happen to you!
So it seems there's a couple that want to escape the city, but apparently it's dangerous or something. Since the beginning of this so called big citywide battle royal, they really have been dragging there feet to actually show some fighting. There was a little bit of fighting towards the beginning but nothing really came of that. Next episode doesn't seem to have much action going from the preview, but I'm fine with the harem antics so far.
I know a girl who fingered herself to a drawing I made.
She told me as such.
To be fair, it was an art request.
I suppose that is a bit awkward when I really think about it.
LOL, awesome. Somehow I missed this. I did an art exchange with a gal from DA, she told me that my drawing made her hot. So the first thing I did was to get on chat with her and cyber her up for some nudie pics. My efforts were rewarded, and my labor bore fruits. Delicious, succulent, fruits... It was kinda awesome, I felt like the Marquis from Quills, who wooed women with his lecherous linguistics.
I suppose I could draw something similar but sure as hell not post it here.
Google would not approve.
But if I do redraw it I guess I could link to it in IRC. I owe you guys.

Everyone in the thread needs to watch ICE and then spend the next 10k posts attempting to piece together a cohesive timeline of events It would take that long with everyone's collaborative effort, if not longer.
I read(like, read read) your impressions, Chet. I'm also only slightly ashamed to say that I'm more likely to click the links that have a high chance of delivering the goods.
