Well I just finished Revolutionary Girl Utena 23 and now I'm more confused than ever.

That's perfectly normal.
You can watch the vast majority of Utena and not know whats going on.

Ideally, you'd want to stay away from any and all Fate Stay/Night adaptations and focus instead on Fate/Zero.

I've never played the VN so I can't comment on that.

Too deep for me? I'm not really getting any of the deep stuff in this show and it makes me feel dumb.

Personally, I don't bother trying to grok that stuff in a first viewing. If a show wants me to clear out the cobwebs and turn my brain on, it has to earn it.

You hear that folks, subs just don't look good unless they're placed at the bottom of the screen with some crappy font, bad graphics overlaying signs and shitty karaoke for the OP and ED.

A lot of official subs do look like shit, though. The yellow font has a sort of nostalgic appeal, but really it just looks ugly.

Besides the wierd bit about one of the girls wanting to marry the teacher, this show is pretty normal kids doing kid things. Which in it's self is kind of a thing a kid would do anyways. It's the girl's mom that needs to be watched out for.

The ED for this episode was pretty enjoyable.

I can agree that they aren't handling the story as well as they could, but I think it's a bit silly to say that the anime has seemed low-budget so far.

That being said, I agree that episode 3 wasn't as impressive as episode 1.
