This show is definitely gonna kill me.

Most likely a spin-off manga taking place during Part 2. Maybe, maybe a recap movie of Asemu's arc, as that's the only one anyone liked. Unlikely to be anything really new, as that show bombed by Gundam standards even in Japan.

So I just finished the Evangelion the series. Man, that show's a lot more disturbing than I remember. Every character gets put through the psychological ringer. Certain scenes that I forgot really messed me up.
Asuka getting mentally destroyed by the space Angel, the Rei's in the tank falling to gory pieces as Ritsuko destroys them, the long pause before Kaworu's demise. Than, that noise that's made when Eva unit 1 killed him
Man, I can't believe I watched this when I was like 15. It's such a disturbing series. As for the original end, it's neat, but near non-sensical. If I was an Eva fan at the time, you'd bet I'd be pissed. Even if you really dig into it, it's difficult to pull out any real meaning. As a complementary piece to EoE, I think it's probably great. The insight it gives into the characters' minds is fascinating. On its own, it's kind of awful.

I look forward to watching Death and End of Evangelion as a double feature later tonight.

wait being force feeded ? my mind is not ready yet
A somewhat intresting episode ..i also like that so far the characters are pretty blund toward their desires , except tomoe but that's also part of his character...since it's now clear that tomoe is the heroine in this mess ( the one with the powers , the one that need to be rescued , the one who cooks and the list goes on )

can someone ask the narrator to reduce the pitch on his voice ?

Chuu2Koi 08:

The essential thing that Tooka is not understanding with regards to Rikka is that there are some people in this world, who you cannot just shove an idea down their throat and expect them not to violently throw it back up in your face. Blimey that's worded in a more perverted way than I meant it, but whatever. She keeps trying to beat into Rikka's head (quite literally) the reality of their lives now, but seems to never take into account that
Rikka didn't have the benefit Tooka had of knowing ahead of time that their father was going to die. Though admittedly that might not have been enough anyway, more on that in a moment.

Chuu2_08_03.jpg

This shot basically shows that Rikka feels no one understands her, and she feels completely isolated from the outside world as a result.

Anyway, Yuuta is right when he says that
Rikka isn't running away from the reality
... well, he's half right anyway. Rikka is in fact
running away from reality, but not because she thinks she can avoid it forever. Rather, she's resisting Tooka's forceful desire to throw her right into the brick wall of reality because she simply needs more time. As infuriating as it is for other people like Tooka to deal with, some people just don't cope with things quickly, and they need someone to just be there to support them as they slowly and surely find their way back.
Enter Yuuta.

Chuu2_08_02.jpg

And I guess the other characters did stuff too. Dog's gone good taste in fine ass. Wait, what was this episode about again?

So Yuuta
catches up with Rikka, in a lovely scene where their eyes meet in the window's reflection, and it turns out that in Rikka's haste she left her key, so off to Yuuta's conveniently empty home for the night. Convenient, but naturally nothing comes of it.

Chuu2_08_04.jpg

Well, better than sniffing his pants, I suppose.

Anyway, some sweetness ensues, and it seems that FINALLY
Rikka is realizing her fascination with him isn't one of admiration of the Dark Flame Master, but moreso that she's just in love with the bloke. Interestingly there's a very short fuzzy flashback where she's remembering him when he fully was a Chuunibyou himself, hinting that her crush on him started then and there.

Good episode. Eager to see where this goes, as we're on the final home stretch (4 episodes left IIRC).

Gundam SEED ep. 46: Yeah, like I said, there was never going to be a good solution to that. All the same
At least Mu is a normal human being.

So I'm assuming the last episodes of the show are all the final battle, then?

Hmm, this slap was pretty flat, lacking in impact like most of the fight scene at the beginning which is in stark comparison to the earlier episodes. Oh well, at least the melodrama from the last episode isn't likely to drag out for another episode.

Still waiting:
A bit late here, but:

To boil it down to it's barest essence, there was really nothing I enjoyed in FLCL apart from a few of the battles.

I didn't like the characters. I didn't like the vague elements of story that were present. The randomnity of the whole series didn't settle well with me. The creators themselves have said that they did it just for the sake of doing that, so it's not just me "not getting it". From the impressions I've seen of people who did enjoy FLCL, it generally was either that the entirely random occurances that are strewn throughout the show amused them/had some sort of meaning for them, or else they felt some sort of bond with growing up in a small town with nothing to do. That aspect of the show really annoyed me, though. The MC is always complaining about how there's nothing to do, yet all sorts of cool stuff goes on around him. Before people start jumping on me for how I just didn't get it, since that seems to be what usually happens in these cases, there's a difference between missing the point of it all, and realizing that the point isn't particularly interesting or worth my time. Same deal with stuff like Hyouka.

I'd certainly be interested to know why you like it, however!
Can you cite the creators and where they said that they made it just for the sake of doing what you said?

Can you try not to let your weird, media-poisoned, unfollowable delusions ride on a guy who's feeling pretty shitty? At least he's savable if we get him out of his funk.

Im sorry if i had to repost this quote again, because calling me out saying im a media-poisoned poster is pot kettle black beyond anything i seen in this board. YOU DONT EVEN UNDERSTAND im not the dude you should even be messing with when im not the poster posting gifs and jpegs of TV SERIES from another country. HOW THE FUCK YOU COME OFF ON THAT SHIT FOR REAL? Sure, nobody understand the fuck im posting. Why do you think that is? Because if these posters were smart enough and used the SEARCH function on people or consepts they didnt KNOW existed then they would understand the premise of what im talking about. Im not a dude that spits out 15 second sound bites.

Trust me when i say this, and im not joking - the fact this board and this thread is some of the best conversational dealings with anime on the INTERNET - and the fact as an OUTSIDER to the genre - i truly respect many of you here - you sir are not one of them. Youre the one thats "Media Poisoned", because I know more about The North American business and how it interacted with anime than any of the posters here. And why you might ask is that the fuck important? Because it effected everything American Entertaiment has done since after 1998. It also a primer of how NOT TO DO BUISNESS with people of a another cuture. Its just as much of an education as to how to tie ones shoelaces or realizing the Expodential Funtions when it comes to Finance will fuck people over.

SO I DONT FUCKING GET WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH ME OR MY WORDS, because I stated it simple. Hosana was sold a lie when he was a teen just starting to like this genre from some Midwestern MBA type who needed to keep his job! What does BILL OF FALSE GOODS MEAN, Mandoric? I mean FOR REAL, Im in the same Place right now in my life as Hosana but im trying my damnest to keep it together. So Excuse me if im Immenselypissed at the notion that im anywhere NEAR media poisoned.

Just wanted to chime in and say I totally agree with you.

Outside of the amazing music I didn't find FLCL enjoyable at all. The whole thing feels completely haphazard with characters that range from completely uninteresting to utterly annoying. It's worth watching once just for the visual and audio experience of the whole thing but I can't say that I actually enjoyed it nor can I say that I'd ever want to actually want to watch it again.

I saw the proposed OT3 banner yesterday on the IRC. I believe it was moonspeak who posted it. Anywho, he said he wanted the logo to be inspired by Jojo's so I had a quick go at one if he'd like to use it.

This is definitely not slapkuga. How can KyoAni, of all studios, fail to deliver the slapkuga???
Chuunibyou really would be a better show if Rikka slipped off the balcony in episode 1.

I don't understand how people can miss the themes of FLCL and think it's just for fun. It's pretty blunt with what it sets out to do.

It's also pretty blunt when you watch the series with commentary twice, which I've done. Once will do, though.

That's how I spotted the fabrication.

Not even. LuffyxHancock, ZoroxPerona, SanjixRobin, RobinxNami

My OTP is RobinxNami but when it comes to vanilla SanjixRobin all the way.

Well at least you didnt say Luffy x Nami (awful like Naruto Hinata or Sasuke Sakura) or Nami x Vivi, perona is a random inclusion, zoro barely paid attention to her, same for Luffy and Hancock.

Mine are: Ace x Luffy, Luffy x Zoro, Zoro x Sanji, Luffy x Trafalgar.

You should probably take my comments with a pinch of salt as I am, as you know, a huge fan of From The New World. But although the visual elements of the show haven't been that strong recently (and maybe that's putting it a bit mildly), if you've enjoyed the story up to wherever you've got to I think you'll still find plenty to like in the next few episodes - and episode 8 is pretty damn good in its own right, off model faces notwithstanding.
I don't follow anime much these days but when I do I seldom let off-model character animations "get to me".
I believe this is largely due to having grown up watching one of the worst offenders of off the rails animation in Sailor Moon.

I hate you Masahiro Ando.

Anyhow, people should be watching anime for a variety of reasons... not just visuals. If they want to overwhelm themselves in style-over-substance visuals, they should just play Makoto Shinkai films on loop and not bother with anything else.

Style over substance is an impossibility. Shinkai's films naturally lack both.

Oh sweet. If I'm not feeling lazy I'll probably rework that banner later and post it in the IRC to get some thoughts on it. I like the general idea of what I proposed but mainly I need to slim it down a bit.

Thanks man!

AcexZoro is random as hell lol.

NarutoxHinata is the OTP pair of that show. I'm not cruel enough to give Sakura a worthless character such as Sasuke anyway, I'd rather have her shack up with Ino, Tsunade, or Shizune.

Regarding Perona, who knows what may have happened during that two year time skip. She
looked awfully sad when Zoro left her to rejoin his crew. :p

Sooner or later Luffy is going to come around and respond in favor to Hancock's advances, it's only a matter of time.
