Man, there are a lot of hateful people on GAF, isn't there? Why do so many people here actively cheer on the failings of another person? What are you, like 12 years old? Let go of that shit and you'll feel a lot better, might even start opening up to other people instead of passive aggressively dumping your frustrations out on this forum.

I don't watch late night TV, and I'm indifferent to Fallon/Colbert, but you guys are all gonna consecutively post about how he needs to "fuck off" and "go away" because he petted Trump's head? Don't you have more important things to worry about? Get over yourself.

I wish Fallon the best, regardless of whether or not I personally find him funny/entertaining.

Fallon's getting paid like $20m a year. He can take criticism.

Also, doesn't the Trump thing directly refute your own point? since, he's... you know... the president? that's pretty important.

It's pretty crazy how the talk show lineups are being fueled entirely on Trump. My wife watches Colbert, Oliver, Noah, and Meyers due to their awesome Trump digs. She used to only watch Conan. The Daily Show in general has spawned some amazing talent.

Jimmy Fallon makes the world worse and is still better off than most, so we're happy when he fails. Is it hard to understand?

I'm already pretty good about opening up to others about how much I dislike Jimmy Fallon, thanks.
No, it's not hard to understand. You're a hateful person. I understand that just fine. Fallon supposedly makes the world worse by entertaining millions and giving people something to look forward to at the end of the day? Haha, ok, I think you might need to experience more of the world before you start declaring who is a bad person and who isn't.

Jimmy Fallon has and never will be funny.

He sucked on SNL, he was more famously known for corpsing during segments. His film career sucked, and during his time as a late night host, there's been several better options to pick from.

I could care less about his Trump hair touching segment. Everything about him is terrible.

I still look forward to him no longer being the host.

If that makes me 'hateful', then so be it. I'll wear your shitty label like a badge.

I think you need to stop getting so upset about what people online think about Jimmy Fallon. The world is a big place, and there's so much more you could be doing.

I pity you.
I help people for a living while you bitch about online TV personalities and wish failure on others. You're worse than Jimmy lol

Keep doing you bud

This tends to happen when you're a boring ass yes-man with no true opinions of your own.

All this man does is laugh uncontrollably when one of his guests say something mildly funny without asking them anything of substance. The Trump interview is a perfect example of how much of a no-talent hack Jimmy Fallon actually is.

He hosted one of the most hateful US presidents in the modern era on his show, potentially legitimising him in the eyes of many voters. Considering that this president is now responsible for families being torn apart, the death of children, soldiers and potentially billions more.

People don't dislike him because they don't like his brand of comedy.

I'm not going to cry if his ratings are down.

I watched a few episodes of Colbert's new show when it started. I didn't think his schtick worked particularly well on the tonight show. Has it gotten better?

Fallon comes out in fake beard

"Uh, hey everyone! I grew a beard! Oh wait, these are just Trump's ball hairs. Ha!"

There you go Fallon, that one's free

You guys hate on this guy way too much. He is nice to trump in person, seems like something he would do for a lot of people even if he doesn't agree with them. I get that you guys want him to hate on trump and pull down his pants and rub his ass on trumps head but I dont think jimmy wants to treat anyone badly and thats all

I help people for a living without bitching about every opinion I disagree with online. Meanwhile you live the most shameful life imaginable doing the opposite.

I hope my words convince you to change. Despite our differences, I truly feel sorry for you, and I hope you see the light one day. Nobody deserves to carry on in the state you're in forever. You can change.

Just like NBC execs when they eventually fire Jimmy Fallon.
Jesus, you're a real piece of work arent you? Phew

All that projection and lashing out isn't gonna make you any happier dude

I think the jimmy fallon hate is like dominoes once percentages of people start to do it then more and more just do it out of reaction. Sort of like how all those folks changed their hillary avatars real fast.

Trump sucks, yeah I agree on my own will and it isn't cause of gaf that I dislike him. He's just a liar and a businesman that I don't care for.

Seems like jimmy has been murdering gaffer pets though

The poster was giving Fallon Grade A material, not hating on him.

"The boat in the wake of the lighthouse sees not its own projection"

You'd be smart to take those words to heart. You can't chase your problems away by accusing everyone else of having those same issues. Please, seek help. Don't do it for me, do it for yourself. You deserve better. Everyone deserves better. Your parents will forgive you.

You can't go on like this.

I guess it doesn't matter, jimmy ain't gonna see all these posts anyways. I don't know the guy just like I don't really know trump... but I wouldn't hate to have dinner with jimmy. I'd rather not have dinner with Hillary or Trump either. Bush, Obama.. eh ok but still doesn't matter to me.

I feel like everyone is using Fallon as the "fall" guy for all the Trump stuff, but a lot of media outlets gave him 24/7 coverage. You could make the argument that putting Trump on a 24/7 news cycle and having people like Oliver/SNL parody him did more to "legitimize" him than Fallon did.

I've hated Jimmy Fallon as a comedian since SNL.

the late show was awful at first. i still don't like his band leader

i think stephen's relaxing slightly more into his colbert report persona

i guess, thanks trump for saving the late show

Yes let's go hate on people that disagree with your opinions.

Fallon is boring and bland.

I mean...Fallon schtick is all about being goofy....

He could have chosen to not have Trump on his show. Fine.

But really...truly realistically, how many blue collar folks out there in Michigan (or other Rust belt types) were watching Fallon and thought...Oh well...Trump is a nice guy...I'll vote for him.

Hell, if anything, the switch over to Colbert is that viewers of late night TV WANT to see harder edged political commentary that more align with their current politics (ie, more left anyway).

I mean...who knows? But blaming Fallon for "legitimizing" is just a drop in the media bucket that gave rise to this abomination of a president.

Wow, you're very dramatic aren't you? Is your entire life like a movie?

First of all, Donald Trump was not the POTUS during that interview. Nobody really thought he was gonna win until he did (oops). If youre gonna try to blame Jimmy Fallon and his show as the reason for Trump's win, then I don't know what else to say to you. Did it contribute? Well, sure, but anytime a person is running for POTUS and he/she receives exposure, that will obviously increase their chances. The reasons for Trump taking office are far more deeply rooted in your country than late night television.

Second of all, Donald Trump is a celebrity. He has been a TV personality for a long time, and he had been on Jimmy's show many times prior to that interview. He's a character, a clown, and gets good ratings. I don't recall Fallon ever endorsing Trumps disgusting rhetoric, and until he does, I don't think you should be putting words in his mouth.

Third, you imply that people are incapable of thinking for themselves by stating that he "potentially legitimized" Trump. If the American population take their cues from Fallon's show, then you are all in far more trouble than you think. It's a fucking late night TV show. It's supposed to be dumb, silly ass entertainment. And you're worried that a show like that may have "legitimized" your president? That's insane.

Lastly, and this one is really gonna get under your skin, but not all of Fallon's audience are democrats or Hillary supporters. Some of those viewers are republican, and they have different views than your own, and not ALL of them endorse Trump's hateful rhetoric like people claim they do. Fallon may have brought Trump on for that reason (outside of their prior relationship and history on the show together) because he acknowledges that he has a diverse audience. Again, MAYBE, but this is all pointless speculation. I'm not going to judge a man and wish him failure because he had a guest on his show that I do not like. If I were to entertain you though and speculate about Fallon's beliefs (which is pointless) I would say this: Fallon is a lighthearted goofball who is paid to be silly on TV. There are no patterns of behaviour or prior acts that are indicative of him holding hateful ideas. If you are gonna generalize Trump's beliefs onto Fallon because he was on his show, then you must follow that same logic and say that about anyone Trump interacts with. You must also say that Fallon adopts the beliefs and ideas of every guest he has on his show. This is crazy, but some people think this way.

+1

I like Conan, Colbert, Kimmel, and Fallon.

Hitman

Edmonton's milkshake attracts no boys.
Glad to see the hate is strong for Fallon. Talentless hack. Snivelly annoying voice. Fake laugh. Not clever, enough to keep up with actually funny people. Comedians view him as a joke. Garantee he's secretly all about MAGA too.

The only reason this guy got the job is be he sucks NBC corporate dick and he looks the part.

good. dude can go blow trump while he turns the country to shit and laugh between mouthfulls

awwww how cute, the rich-influential-celebrity-defense-force is here! you should write him a letter i'm sure he appreciates you going to bat for him

Let it out man, come on, don't hold back!

go finish your homework lad! or your parents will take away your phone

You can dislike his work and hope his work isn't shown on TV anymore too.

Maybe they can bring back ratings by turning the show into a VR dining experience where you can have dinner with Jimmy.
Not saying I need to have dinner with him or any famous people personally. Was just saying if I had to choose.

Jimmy Fallon is a generic ass white comedian who appeals to the "normies". Asking him to switch up his whole routine to suddenly be political is not going to be anything worth while. It's possible it ends up turning his audience away even more because perhaps people like his show for the very reason it's not super political.

But that's what I want.

Get rid of him so they can replace him with someone good, someone funny.

It's this kind of thing that just seems down right mean.

If trump said this he'd be blasted to the moon and back.

But people will keep on being mean to others. This country just can't seem to stop the hate and being ill willed toward others

I admit I don't worry what strangers say online but where does this have stem from for a few of you guys and no it ain't trump.

Sure you were saying mean things about people long before trump.

I do wish people could be more kind to one another but it obviously isn't going to happen for a long long while.
