My lady is going to hate this game..

I think a big split in opinion will be between people who like being provided with a story and those who like creating their own
Yeah, the amount of people talking up witcher 3's freedom forget how closely it sticks to its roots despite being an open world game.

Well Amazon updated my Pip-boy order with my delivery date.

Priority shipping and it's supposed to arrive on the 16th.

Thanks Amazon, I really didn't want to play a game I've been waiting 5 years for on the day of release, thanks for looking out for me.

This is my same problem except the shipping is anywhere from Nov. 13 to Nov 19 and given their previous shipping history it will be on or after the 19th :/

Mehh. Skyrim was by no means perfect, but I played that from day 1 and had no significant issues that prevented me from playing or from finishing the game before the end of the month.

I would be very surprised if this was worse, if not noticeably better in that regard.

There will always be bugs like floating NPCs or crazy ragdoll glitches and what not, but stuff like completely broken quests preventing you from continuing, severe crashing and legit game ruining problems are likely a very low probability.

Skyrim is still getting unofficial patches. Four fucking years after the launch.
By the latest version, over 19 000 bugs have been fixed, and the DLC unofficial patches add another few thousand fixes.
Obviously most bugs are smaller ones nowadays but there are occasionally visible ones.
(And the unofficial patches can't touch engine bugs really...)

The official patches left quite a bit of even seriously broken stuff.

Anyone wanting to wait before getting FO4 is very wise, IMO.

Exactly. I finished TW3 and liked it but I never came close to feeling the same level of character ownership and immersion as I did with my Fallout/Elder Scrolls experiences. The Witcher is a very good game but it doesn't scratch the same itch as Bethesda's games (and vice versa).

I know youre supposed to shit on Bathesda these days (I guess they are the new hotness to be shit on this month) but I havent been this hyped for a game in ages, loved FO3 and NV

edit: and Skyrim. GASP THE HORROR

Always knew I liked you for a reason, Rhak.

I beat Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Witcher 3 within weeks of their release without major patching. There's always bugs and there's always complaining, meanwhile the games are long in my rearview while others are still spinning in place in the swamps.

Just preordered the PS4 version at Best Buy with the season pass and socks. :)

I love the idea of playing Fallout 4 in bed.

I know a lot of people are waiting for this with great excitment so I am pleased for them.

For my part I have a concern that will this game offer anything for those that played Fallout 3 all the way. That experience was amazing, but looking at the 4 trailer it seems this is similar if higer res.. so bit worried it may feel like a repeat

it needs little marketing. Why waste more money than needed when it'll sell by itself and word of mouth?

This doesn't makes any sense. Executives would never believe on the "mouth to mouth" thing. No one should, it's too risky. I find it pretty weird that they are not promoting the game all that much, mainly with an CG/life action trailer.

Ready for all the "I'll wait for the real gold version next year" posts.

Hahaha, same. However I must resist. Trying so so hard to resist since I still have to get Until Dawn, Bloodborne (don't shoot me), Nathan Drake Collection, and a few others as well. Battlefront is day one (Star Wars geek in me can't resist the powerrrr of the dark side).

So the wait may have it at a lower price, and patched out bugs. However I feel this will be a more solid launch, with less bugs than the past, judging how they did not go all out graphically and seemed to refine and polish the engine to the current consoles.

They have been releasing a video almost every day, made a phone app, made a loot crate, and have been making and releasing various items from their store on a regular basis.

The marketing machine is full gear......

Sure, marketing is in full swing but the average person isn't going to see much if any of that. I'm surprised I haven't seen any ads on TV, or youtube ads, or anything like that.

Not saying that it won't suddenly start within the next few days to a week, though. At least seeing smaller cuts of The Wanderer trailer on TV anyway.

Do we all like the wait-longer-for-the-announcement-but-way-less-time-for-the-release-after-announcement approach?

I do, I wish more companies besides Nintendo took that approach, and more often. Not like Fallout 4 wasn't unofficially confirmed for a few years (along with the Boston location, too) anyway.

I know when I get the game I'm going to be playing my first long session wearing that thing. I don't even care how much of a nerd I'm being. Fuck it.

Awww Yeah! yup im 33 and dont give a fuck how nerdy it is... im doin it, hell i have my vault 101 jumpsuit i might even bump up the nerd factor to 11!

Definitely. Less time to wait for a release date, and you get the game while the hype is still there. Contrast with something like No Man's Sky for an example on the other end.

The majority of new game TV ads show up a week before release (The Assassin Cred: Syndicate commercial only started to be aired this week for example). FO4 release date is still three weeks away.

It's so weird for me to not be hyped about a Bethesda game. Was super hyped for oblivion, fallout 3 and skyrim, but I am not really hyped for this game for some reason. Still going to play it tough, I do love Bethesda games.

I think this is my most anticipated game ever. I think about it everyday and I love how little we have seen of it. The exploration in a Fallout game is like no other.

I freaking can't wait.

Would love to play Fallout 4 on Vita remote play. But if triggers are required for a lot of actions i suddenly lose any interest to be honest.

They had ads on Sunday and Monday night football this past week.

No problems on PC at release. At least nothing major.

Oh come on...on PC the mouse sensitivity was bound to the framerate. Then came a patch that made the dragons fly backwards...good times.

Edit: consoles were way worse ok but even the PC version was buggy as hell on launch day.

I actually look forward to the bugs. There are bound to be some awesome YouTube videos of some whacky broken stuff a week out from launch.

I won't be mad at Bethesda as I understand a game of this scope is bound to be buggy. They will work on it and make sure we have a good experience.

Zenimax being a privately owned company probably means they don't have to do things to appease shareholders.
They know what they are doing and just do it.

IIRC, the game will have a specific button scheme on the Vita when you start it on Remote Play, with the Aiming and Shooting being on the L1 and R1

Most people don't mind that they didn't show a whole lot of the game after E3, me included. But now after having played Witcher 3 for many hours and absolutely loving it, i started to wonder what kind of general improvements there will be in the game.

For example, i love how NPC's do their thing in Witcher 3 and that aspect alone seems better and more realistic than what we saw in Skyrim and Fallout 3. We've only seen some very brief parts where they walk around, shoot enemies and some of the new features like the building and weapon customisation. But what about A.I.? Can you truly get away with crimes?

On one hand i am very happy they didn't show a thing about that and leaving it for the player to find out, on the other it could be that very little of this has been improved. Ah well, soon we'll find out. Usually they would show us that, they did with Skyrim and their other games, in both videos and in articles.

Ditto on the exploration. The only other game I have as much hype for is No Man's Sky....I really like exploration.

Gmg sent me a 23% off voucher, how opportune.

Same!

$46.20 total... no sales tax. Can't pass on that.

Don't recall any of that stuff, but I won't deny it didn't happen.

I played Skyrim at launch and never had any issues on my first play through of it.
