Just preordered the PS4 version at Best Buy with the season pass and socks. :)

I love the idea of playing Fallout 4 in bed.

I was going to go for that but it has "release day" shipping which means it could arrive as late as 8PM depending on where you live. Might want to check back in a week or so to see if they update it to allow store pickup.

Never really played a fallout game. I started 3 but failed to get engaged after I left the vault.

Have 60 in steam credit. Should I take a chance on this?

Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition (PC)
Fallout 4 Gold Edition with socks (PS4)
Ultimate Vault Dweller's Survival Guide
November 11th and 12th off work

And purchased the Fallout Anthology yesterday. I just had to get that mini-nuke, ha!

Body is ready.

Never thought I'd say this but, too soon!

I have to finish TW3 and MGSV. And then there's JC3 not far after. Ahhhhhh.

Can someone answer a couple question?

Are all the stats we get to distribute at the beginning of the game?

For example I want to create a stealthy assassin thief type that can talk his way in and out of any situation. I don't want him to be stupid either.

What would the stats look like for that?

I'm also tired of playing to long games with the only real romance options being you have to read a poem and be serious as shit with your partner. Is it more casual in the Fallout franchise?

oother fallouts didn't have romance but beth's last game did (skyrim) and if its anything like skyrim its dumb as shit. just give an npc an item and now you're married. thats it. in my opinion they shouldn't have even bothered with marriage in skyrim if it was going to be that barebones, but got to appeal to those mass effect fans, which is why we got dat sweet dialogue d-pad now :))))

Your character is focused on a system called S.P.E.C.I.A.L, with each letter being something different (C is for Charisma, S is for Strength, etc). You get a certain amount of points in the beginning (28 I believe) where you can distribute them into each letter up to 10. Depending on the amount of points you put into a letter you'll open up perks involving that letter. For example, if you put 10 points into Charisma at the start of the game, then when you next level up you'll have 10 perks revolving around Charisma to choose from. Some of those perks can help you convince people or help you barter with people better. On the other hand, if you have 1 point onto Charisma then you can only unlock the first initial perk for it.

You can also choose to put another point into your SPECIAL instead of choosing a perk. So if you want to be a stealthy romantic then you need to realize which one of those letters benefits those two traits (C and A I believe). the most.

The game revolves around perks. Those perks give you benefits. It wasn't like in the previous games where you can put points into specific traits (i.e shooting skills or hacking skills) instead they are now a perk and under a letter.

I am sure there are some terrible romance mods for both F3 and New Vegas. Just check nexus. To summarize: buy Fallout on PC if you can.

This is the piece of the puzzle I was missing. Watching the special video kind of threw me off because I didn't know about the 28 (?) Initial points. Thanks.

Is there anywhere I can see the perks for each letter?

Sucks about the romance. I like to get my in game character laid every now and again for all the crazy shit he goes threw.

Note that we don't know the actual name and effect of all 70 base perks, and even fewer Perk Ranks for all 275 Perks. But both are pretty good lists with about as up to date info as we have.

Sure why not. It's a popular series, most hardcore gamers seem to like it. If you feel like waiting though, I would - the titles can be a bit buggy at first. Also, if you didn't like fallout 3 (and if give that another shot) you might want to hold off for a bit

Sure, marketing is in full swing but the average person isn't going to see much if any of that. I'm surprised I haven't seen any ads on TV, or youtube ads, or anything like that.

Not saying that it won't suddenly start within the next few days to a week, though. At least seeing smaller cuts of The Wanderer trailer on TV anyway.

They had commercials on Thursday night football. I'm sure I'll see a couple this Sunday. They're showing commercials already.

It surprised me the lack of gameplay videos for the game. All we have are those videos from the E3 reveal, right?

Bethesda's strategy for this game from the start has been "dangle the carrot, MINIMIZE SPOILERS", hence the announce and release in the same year strat.

Well Amazon updated my Pip-boy order with my delivery date.

Priority shipping and it's supposed to arrive on the 16th.

Thanks Amazon, I really didn't want to play a game I've been waiting 5 years for on the day of release, thanks for looking out for me.

Same over here. Amazon says I get my Pip-boy edition between the 16th and the 20th.

I love you Bethesda and thanks.

My wife on the other hand will most likely want to kill me come launch day/week/month. No much will be getting done. Im sure she will hold us both responsible.

Pretty greatly excited. It looks like it actually plays like a competent first-person shooter now.

Despite its numerous shortcomings, Fallout 3 was still a world that I was able to get immersed in and I very much look forward to that again.

personally I wouldn't want to waste vacation time on a gaming session unless you're single, don't have family and/or you already have everything else planned out and had a week to spare to do whatever.
