I have a quick Q.

I stuck a stick of dynamite on
Benny
after our quick conversation in the casino and slaughtered everyone with him but everyone else in the casino has gone hostile, should I go to an earlier save and wait to kill him?

Mojave Outpost can repair it up to 100%.

Just stretch your hand muscles, first, because there's a lot of paperwork to do.

Yes. If you pass the speech skill check, you and Benny go to another room, where you can then kill him without anyone knowing.

Does anyone else here hope that Fallout 4 is even weirder/more humorous than New Vegas?

The Fallout series should have never been so dry as Fallout 3 was. The gameplay was great but it had no personality. New Vegas injects back some of what Fallout 1 and 2 had and proves that the old formula still works theme-wise. I just wish they had really went all out with that and wasn't obviously held back from going full bore with it.

Fallout 3 was dry? What? Did you miss the giant robot that designed to destroy commies? Or the community of cannibals and their strange meat pies? or the cheesy VR simulated 1950s where that "kid" was trying to get you to murder everyone in ridiculous ways?

There's an
AMR
but you can get away with the Ratslayer.

There wasnt much decent humor in Fallout 3, imo.

I'm not finding you funny, either.

Play the first two and you will realize that nothing bethesda did was even remotely as memorable as some of the more mundane elements of Fallout 1 and 2. It was like asking a very average artist to paint the Mona Lisa based on only a verbal description of what it is supposed to look like.

Fortunately, Bethesda had an awesome gameplay engine backing the game up. Story, personality, wit, etc is not something Bethesda is known to be good at. I hardly see as to how this is news.

I take out my trusty Brass Knuckles instead of guns.
No spiked knuckles? The jump in dmg is totally worth it.
Go pick on Fiends until you get some.

Keep an eye out for Love & Hate. This very nice set of knuckles is in...uh..I forget. =) Somewhere in the outskirts I think. I think a Fiend has them.

There's all kinds of kickass unique weapons for those willing to explore. I got a handy machete called a Liberator from Boone's adventures in Legion camps. I myself am swinging around some dude's golf-club
(Get the quest from Fort Mccockers to take out three named fiends to make the club easier to find)
. I also threw some points into energy weapons cause the RCPW or whatever is quite handy.

The game still sucks but I'm liking it fiercely. Really fun stuff.

I do find it funny though when I sneak-kill somebody and everyone nearby doesn't so much as flinch. It's one thing to get away with murder but c'mon somebody could at least notice fresh corpses. Strange thing is enemy NPCs tend to notice recently-killed allies but friendly NPCs? Hmm well whatever.

I'm not arguing Fallout 3 has a better story or whatever, I just don't see how it could possibly be considered dry. Too ridiculous maybe, but not dry.

Well whatever your taste in humor, it was definitely not "dry". It was probably more over the top than New Vegas.
The humor was pretty bad i thought. The only part i can think of that was decent and really felt in place with the Fallout universe was the Republic of Dave.

So what the fuck is up with
Fiends
? are they a mini faction or something ? is there a way to befriend them or should i just keep killing them on sight ? ive done nothing to offend them and they keep attacking me. Im asking because i am now at South Vegas and they seem to have a whole "village" going on. And i also killed some of them with names and all. No dialog option, never :/

they have a
vault
all to themselves. They're so called fiends because they are fiends/villains. I went in and killed the lot :D

Not so fast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df96iSH-eMY

Be careful. Nothing is godly at your point in the game. I would recommend to lay a fairly wide berth of Frag Mines before you attempt it. Make sure the first shot is a head shot. Don't run. Keep him in your sights and keep firing. Don't worry about wasting ammo. And with the Ratslayer you can easily hit the Alpha Deathclaw from an extreme distance, so do everything in your power to bring him down as much as possible before he even reaches the Frag Mines.

And bring a shotgun.

And some bubblegum.

Finally found a unique sniper rifle.

*shakes fist* I saw that crate, but didn't have enough lockpick skill to open it. IIRC, it required 100. :(

I have a feeling that this is the next thing I'll be getting. Details! Ammo type, etc.!

Ratslayer rocks because it uses 5.56mm.

It uses .308 ammo, and it's a one bullet round. It doesn't list any bonuses in the game, I had to look it up on the wiki to see what else it provides. I would link it but don't wanna spoil it.

And yeah, it requires a lock pick of 100 to get, which I've maxed out already. :D

Oh for fuck's sake - I'm on what looks to be the final mission of the game and it's locked up my ps3 twice in a row around the same area that I have to pass through!

Absolutely ridiculous. I hate you, Obsidian.

Wouldn't trade the Ratslayer for it, I don't think. :\

I'm not sure what level you are but Anti Material rifle is available at Gun Runners for around 5000 caps.
Well worth it since you 1 shot pretty much everything (Deathclaws included). It's a very slow weapon so be sure to aim well :)

Haha, what. I used VATS to throw some dynamite under a super mutant with a chain gun. Didn't do much, asshole was laughing maniacally and shooting me the entire time he was flying through the air in slow motion. After VATS was over, he was still suspended in the air about 30 feet up. Still filling me full of lead. The weirdest part was, when he died, he fell back down to ground level. :lol

Why did I not think to look there. Thanks man.

Yeah, they greatly reduced the number of skillbooks to prevent you from breaking the game. But if you care about role playing anyway and are not playing on hardcore, you just can roll a non-combat character and have your buddies do all the heavy lifting.

This game... THIS GAME. I can lose DAYS without even noticing. Just got to Nipton, heading to Novac, still nowhere near the Strip and I'm loving every minute.

The tweaks from Fallout 3 to New Vegas are slight but they make all the difference. It's a brilliant game.

Damn, I really, really like how they did the ending. Bioware, copy that shit for Dragon Age 2 please.

Now onto the other factions!

I'm really surprised they didn't learn their lesson from Jade Empire. I mean, all they did was have the actor read their character's fate... how hard was that to figure out? :lol

Question for one of the Wildcard quests....
how the hell do you get into the Boomers headquarters at Nellis Air Force Base? Anytime I try from any angle it's just artillery fest 99. I tried buying the directions from the guy there, but trying to follow them still gets me killed. Any easy way to get into the Boomers hideout?

I never beat Jade Empire so I didn't know they'd already done that. :lol But yeah, surprisingly effective stuff.

He also suggests the train tracks to the south...
If you follow them north you'll reach the base. You'll still get bombed but for a shorter period and you have a lot more cover and such so you should survive. If not, reload. Quicksave FTW.
