Fallout New Vegas |OT| Obsidian does what Bethesdon't

I started playing today and I'm getting really bad artifact's on my screen like random dot flashes of black or white. I'm using a GTX 460.

Any one else experiencing this and if so is there a fix.

Turn off the AA, for now. Your GPU isn't dying.

Sounds like GPU is beginning to die.

It's not. Just this one game.

I believe that is a common occurrence with Nvidia cards. They're working with Nvidia on driver patches as well as working on patches for the game itself.

Must take time to get the drivers perfect so your playing the game the way it's meant to be played, a week later.

My frame rate doesn't go below 30 but why running feels like slow motion? Is it normal? Does putting more points towards agility make any difference?

I think I'm done with this game. The crashes are one thing. I can deal with that.. but now there are quests I can't complete?

I go to speak to a key person and there are no dialogue trees to advance the quest. Who the hell test this bull shit before releasing it?

Any tips on finding a
sexbot
? I talked to Ralph and got a holodeck but now I'm not sure what to do.
Just follow the mark on the map - it's a convoluted path around the edge of Freeside with not much else near it (it'll lead to a door to
Cerulean Robotics
). That confused me for awhile too :lol

Yeah I played the games for a good long while last night. Blackjack in particular was really easy with a high luck character. I was surprised at how pretty they made the casino games - very slick presentation for all three.

You can rehire companions after you fire them, right?
Yep, they go back to wherever you found them.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Bit the bullet and looked up the various 'Wild Wasteland' incidents on the Fallout Wiki. Assuming the list is complete, there are nowhere near as many as I thought there would be, and only a few of them are good. Outside of a couple the seem so minor I have no idea why the dev team were split on putting them in the game, leading to the perks existence.

It seems to be a widespread issue with this quest
camp searchlight: wheel of fortune.. Boxcars refuse to say anything other than "what do you want?". Even if you find the location of the boxes on your own, the quest still cannot advance.

So I went looking around on the Fallout Wikia and I guess
The House Always Wins
is the last story quest. So I need to complete that and
side with Mr. House in order to complete the story? That can't be right, is it? I feel like i'm being deficient about this whole thing and should just go play the game, but I need to make sure i'm doing everything correclty :lol

I'm loving this. It's flawed as hell and really lazy in so many ways, as it really is just Fallout 3.1, but that's still so much fun. I've sunk 8 hours in to it today already and I'm not even at New Vegas yet and there's about a dozen quests waiting for me to do.

I'm going to fail uni thanks to this game.

yeah I agree that's really strange if that's all there are.

I have a feeling there might be more that just haven't been discovered yet.

I think there was a bad run of discs of the 360 version. My boss' copy was completely unreadable in two different 360s. He returned it for a different copy, which played fine.

Only happened once to me THANK GOD :p.

Hmm, I wonder if it's because the DLL file I put in, but I seem to be encountering more crashes lately. (Alternatively, it could just have been the new patches they put in made more problems!)

If you did the 'ifpsclamp' fix, the games framerate will directly affect the speed the game runs at. So, 30FPS would mean you're literally playing at half speed.

Unless you didn't, which means your Agility in the game is low. This stat directly affects run speed.
There is a future perk to take as well that will boost run speed at the expense of wearing no or light armor.

Got this on 360 today, immediately wishing I got the PC version. The stutters are incredibly annoying and I've not even finished the bloody tutorial!

I'm playing this game on PC. Pretty fun so far.

Question though: The old Fallout 3/Oblivion had a feature where it autosaved a new save pretty frequently. In this fallout it seems that autosave saves OVER your current autosave, Is there any way to enable the old autosave feature?

So I just got paid and now have money to buy this. Is it in a playable form now on PS3/360? I know it is clearly having some issues, but in comparison to fallout 3's launch bugs, whats the state of the game at this point?

Has anyone else found
Hell's Hotel
yet? :D To get there, leave
Primm
heading toward
Nipton
on the
NCR
side of the freeway. Turn right just as you leave town and you'll see
California Sunset Drive-in
, a findable location. Pass through it and up the hill and you should see a small scenic park that overlooks the town on the right hand side and an
Alpha Male Coyote
standing at the edge of the the hill to your left along with the remains of a road that leads up into a canyon
(the canyon contains several more coyotes, two graves, a small cave containing the remains of an NCR Trooper, and eventually ends in Canyon Wreckage, another findable location with some creepy messages, a Wandering Feral Ghoul is sometimes close enough in its ramblings to aggro if you're fighting the Alpha so keep an eye out)
. Get close to the hill line and move south along the cliffs until you encounter a
motorcycle up against a cliff face with emergency cones and other debris around it
. Avoid that
It's a trap!
and instead look above, where you should be able to see
a bit of aluminum siding and an old style antenna above
. Climb the nearby cliff face and be prepared for
rads and Ghoul Reavers
. This is called
Nevada Crater
, yet another findable location and probably the hardest area in that part of the map, depending on your equipment and build. Go up the slightly less deadly path (look at that water, trust me, you want to stay on that path and not go for a swim) and deal with the three or four defenders you'll encounter (
having Ed-E or another companion or two along with a weapon like an incinerator helps a lot with the ghouls
) . At the end of the path in a little box canyon is our target. Inside, you'll find
an insane Gutsy, a dead Ghoul Doctor, and some medical equipment and Irradiated versions of normal foodstuffs (such as Salisbury Stake that gives +5 rads instead of the normal +1). Oddly, given its location, it's not radioactive inside.
. Love little spots of randomness like this! Makes exploring fun!

Right now I have access to ED-E, Veronica, Boone, and Arcade. I have ED-E and Veronica currently. Should I be taking Boone or Arcade, or is Veronica ok? She keeps getting killed in
Vault 34.

I have Veronica equipped with Power Armor, a Melee Weapon and a Flame Thrower. She's currently a force to be reckoned with. She can single handedly take out a Giant Scorpion. Her generic equipment offers very low DT though and I think she'll only be worth it if you've got Power Armor on hand (which can be found rather easily).

Damn those Brahmin are quick and dangerous. I shot one of them and the whole herd attacked me. They had me backpedalling through the wasteland for what seems like forever. :lol

I played for around 8 hours on 360. Experienced 2 freezing issues which required a console restart, 4-5 bugs when an enemy would remain stuck in the environment, and the "weapon-raising" bug. No quest-related bugs (yet). The game also tends to stutter occasionally even after installing to HDD. Other than that, I'm really enjoying the game. I'm saving every 15 minutes though. :lol

Tips on not getting killed by the dudes in the Primm casino? Playing on normal and finding it very tough.

Lead them through doors if you can. They can all swarm you at once if you're not careful. If you're dealing with the first two in the first room, aggro them and walk outside. Get ready to own them then. Then in the next room there might be one or two that you should be able to take out easily around the corner and backing up on them. The last two/three in the final room might be a little more difficult because of the flamethrower he might have on him. Follow the same procedure as before. Set mines if you have them, cripple the legs so you have time to move.

I think I need to get rid of Boone (don't think that is a spoiler but if it is I'll cover it), he is one shot killing everything in the wasteland. Before him I would die if surrounded, with him...nobody even gets close. :lol

Aha, that explains it. Gonna try without setting ifpclamp to 60 and dx dll fix. Thanks.

Probably at 60fps maxed too :lol

I've just come accustomed to Xbox Live in recent weeks, rarely play a game at the moment when not chatting with someone over it.

How do you get the UI mod working? It looks like this:

/menu
/menu/bunch of files.xml
/menu/dialogue
/menu/main
/menu/prefab

I've tried putting it in the data directory. So data/menu and nothing happens. I've also just tried putting it straight in the dir so data/bunch of files.xml data/dialogue,etc... and that didn't work either. The readme.txt sucks for this mod but I want to see more than 3 lines when I talk to people!

Like in Fallout 3, my favorite thing to do is to just travel the wastelands with no clear goal in mind. I love it. The ambient music and sound is so good and you actually have to manage your inventory with no shops in close proximity. You stumble across a lot of neat stuff, too. I hate to use the word 'immersive', since it's been raped and murdered by the gaming press, but it would definitely describe the experience of wandering the wastelands.

I've made some progress on the quests but honestly I'm not even sure what I'm doing right now. I can't keep up with all the different clans and shit.

Man, they really need to do some optimizations on the Camp
Forlorn Hope
area. It runs like an absolute dog and it's hard locked the ps3 twice already.
