Impressive.
Shin'en gonna Shin'en.
Okay, see ya.Good on them for finding a niche and good on them if this game does turn out to be fun, but I've checked out.
Oops. Didn't see this thread. Will just repost what I did in the other one.
Some gameplay footage.
GameXplain - 10 minutes (three different tracks) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ww3X4otQm7A
NinEverything- 15 minutes (Entire Cobalt Cup) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRkpjRPQWzs
So hyped for this now that we have a real release date.
Edit: Damn see that they were already posted.
Anyway the GameXplain footage confirm my fears. Track design is awful in these three tracks. Straight lines, easy turns and almost no slowdowns for hitting track sides.
Those three tracks are absolutely boring to see, not to mention how boring will be to play
Other tracks have more complex layouts but don't expect Yoshi's Circuit.
For what we have seen since now they're almost Baby Circuits...
i'm a huge FZERO fan, FAST RACING NEO sure looks very nice, but there's something lacking like in every shinen games i tried... a little magic, a real personnality...and gameplay looks quite boring, i'll wait for reviews and feedbacks...
Is @MUWANdo the "shadows aren't dynamic enough!!" guy?

nano assault is a pretty damn good game and so is art of balance. I didn't like their platformer nor the first fast. I am reviewing Neo and it handles the gameplay way better than the original
What? I don't give two shits about console wars, I just think Shin'en makes soulless games--pretty games, for sure, but they all feel like something that'd come packaged with a circa-2000 video card or something. No imagination, no ambition beyond the technical, occasionally competent (moreso in recent years).
In this instance, naming their game absolutely anything but FAST probably would have helped a little.
They're successful because their games are technically impressive and because they give Nintendo diehards something to rally around; the games themselves are rarely anything special.
Agree with you about Nano Assault. That game seemed hard to screw up because of its kind though. This one looks more complex as it's a racer. Doesn't appear that they screwed it up though.I don't know, really..
Of their game catalogue, I have just played Nano Assault Neo, and that was the most fun I ever had for ten bucks for any game I have ever played..
It looked incredible, and played very well.
And, it hads lots of "soul" as well.
If Fast Racing Neo is anything in the same league like that game, I am set for a great winter holidays time..
Getting this vibe too. Gameplay looks fine but there is that "something" missing. Especially the hud, looks like an alpha hud to me. Where is the pizzazz

It looks like you could potentially clear sections of the track in Hypersonic if you were fast enough and had enough boost going into a jump.
eShop quoted space is DL + install. Post install it's 590MB.Nintendos E-shop says 1221,9MB, maybe its with installationspace then?.
Looking forward the review thread, if it gets one
Hope this doesn't disappoint
Nano Assault, Nano Assault Neo, and The Art of Balance games are legitimately good titles.
It'll have one.

They are an independent, 5 person tops, dev team.Is there a specific reason why they arent making an F-Zero game? A downloadable F-Zero with this kind of quality behind it would sell great.
Or at the very least have some F-Zero DLC like they did for Mario Kart.

They've said a few times, they like working on their own. A bigger project would attach contracts and deadlines, not to mention they don't have the capacity.
Plus as noted, the game is ...different than F-Zero. People need to remember that, because a lot will be disappointed next week if they approach this like that.

Do we know if this works with the pro controller?
Knowing Shin'en, everything short of a Wii Balance Board will work with this game.

Fantastic, I'm not familiar with the dev, but happy to know I can use the pro
