I agree that the online part is fine now, nonetheless there is still one major flaw, no server lists.

I would love for there to be a server list. I just played a few games there and at the end of the round I could hear a few of the guys on the other team - all of whom sounded American (I'm in Ireland btw). This happens all the time that I'm playing games with people who turn out to be half way across the world.

I've played games of Killzone 2 with American and Japanese hosts with little to no lag (10mb connection) yet with Fat Princess I see the little red snail all too often. Does Fat Princess not group people together by region like most other games? I'm going to have assume so by what I have experienced. I wouldn't say all of Fat Princess's network problems have been solved, but the patch has definitely had a marked improvement.

I just wish Sony would've at least packed a USB headset in with the Slim. Thats the only problem I have with most PSN online games is lack of voice chat in team based situations.

I played for awhile this afternoon, made me sad the GAF community moved on so damn fast.

For me, It's just that, I don't have that much time for games, right now.
Also, I'm waiting for my Slim to arrive to start playing again, as the saves are locked on Fat Princess, pff.

Hopefully, in the end of this month I'll pick up Fat Princess again. Absolutely one of the finest PSN games. And hey, the new map looks wicked too!

I'm having trouble with the demo. After playing around in singleplayer I was all but ready to drop some money on it but I haven't been able to connect to a single multiplayer game after multiple tries (and I'm forced to watch an unskippable movie after each failed attempt to connect!). Is this a problem on my end or the games? I thought this was patched?

I have my PS3 in a DMZ, so I don't see why it'd be that? Anyone else struggling to connect?

The demo gives off all the right vibes but then this...

dude, fuck this game. debating on a saturday what game to play, see the fat princess icon and think "surely they've fixed the connection issues by now".

hit play with others, jump in. 5 minutes at connecting screen. go back to xmb relaunch. 10 MINUTES at connecting screen. relaunch once more, 5 minutes into connecting screens i just decide to play kz2 instead.

what the hell, it's been like this since launch for me, probably played a total of 30 minutes online because i've NEVER been able to connect properly (yeah i know people have good success with playing with friends, but i just want to go and play with people who aren't the dumbass AI). if it's because there are zero people playing right now then damn, it really has problems outside of me getting frustrated from never being able to connect.

I haven't been having any problem connecting for multiplayer in a while, but I think the balance needs to be fixed. When both teams get to max level on hat machines and have everything built winning becomes impossible. I was in one game for 3 hours last night till I finally gave up, complete stalemate.

Other than that the game is great.

I have the same issue, it pisses me off. I really want to enjoy the fucking game, but I CAN'T PLAY IT. It's outrageous. I truly feel like I deserve my money back. It won't work!

I just picked this up a couple days ago, honestly this is the most fun I've had with a PSN game since Noby Noby Boy. It's extreme cuteness and ridiculous gore is something that cannot be ignored.

The best part though is the game's credits :lol

I bought this at launch, got the patch and then stopped playing. The momentum died for me too. Are people still playing this? I may try to jump back on this weekend with the patch and new stuff.

Saw the patch and free map stuff on the PS Blog. Guess they wisely judged that no-one will pay for 1 map on its own for a game that released pretty broken.

Also no server list option in this new patch for a game with already few players means they still don't get it and ensures they'll be switching servers off for this in a year as well.

I remember a faint time when I was hyped about Fat Princess. Probably my biggest disappointment of 2009.

Agree with SecretBonusPoint, this was a massive disappointment. It has a ton of promise too. They should do some sort of sweeping DLC with a promo. Offer the game for a buck or something.

Game System Tweaks
The host’s ability to kick and ban players has been removed.
The ability for players to switch teams post-game is now restricted so that sides cannot be unbalanced by more than 2 players.
A new switching team system has been implemented during matches:
* If there is a deficit of 2 players between teams, the weaker team will drop a team colored ball on the death of a player.
* Picking up the colored ball switches a player’s team and rewards them with a 300 point bonus.
* So…get the ball.
The 10 game average ranking system has been removed.
A new ranking system has been implemented, which adds rank points for every game based on the player’s score.
Awarded ranking titles will now never go down once earned.
Online leaderboards have been increased to display all players not just the top 1000.
All online leaderboards are to be reset shortly after patch 1.03 is released, but all unlocked customizations and trophies will remain unlocked. You will not lose them.

Main Bug Fixes
The Princess disappearing bug has been fixed.
The issue with statistics and trophies not saving correctly has been fixed.

Character Balancing
The Dark Priest’s lock-on range has been reduced.
The Dark Priest’s drain ability has been slightly reduced.
The Ranger now has larger movement penalty when locked on and charging attacks.
The Adv. Ranger has a smaller shot dispersion and increased damage per shot.
The Warrior’s attack damage has been increased slightly.
The Warrior’s movement speed has been increased slightly when locked on and charging attacks.
The Warrior’s 360 degree protect when his shield is raised has been increased from 20% to 40%
Warrior’s Lock on range increased to match Ranger to stop class being hit from behind when retreating
Warriors weapon collision box increased in size to aid with hit detection
Adv Warrior speed increased slightly when locked on and charging to match his normal movement speed
Adv Warrior damage increased
Adv Worker’s bomb knockback force removed
Princess calorie burn decreased slightly in weight state 3 and 4

Control Tweaks
Two new control schemes have been implemented to allow players to use the R1 button to attack and to free the player’s right hand for target switching. This is AWESOME.

Scoring Updates
New switching team bonus added of 300 points.
Princess rescue score increased to 300 points.
Princess rescue assistance bonus increased to 150 points.
Princess escort bonus increased to 75 points.
Win game scoring reduced to 150 points.
Match completion bonus added of 75 points.
Average Rank bonus award removed for games won under 3 minutes.
Bonus score for winning games in under 3 minutes removed.

I gave it another go yesterday and frankly..it's still fun but only for a good 15-20 minutes or so. The lack of communication and getting connection failure errors 4/5 games is no fun.

I'd be in for it. I've only been able to play the game a couple of times online, and it was fun... despite the fact that I didn't know the maps tremendously well. I fight good though. Or at least I seem to - I kill lots of people.
