Looking back at roster split.

HHH main rivalries. Shawn Micheals,Kevin Nash, Goldberg, Steiner, Booker T, Kane.
Benoit, Eugene!, Orton, Batista

Goldberg got some wins in there. :\

Plywood

NeoGAF's smiling token!
Alvarez and Meltzer said they had two options one with a Triple threat and the other Triple H vs Bryan. They went with Triple H. There belief in him being in the main event is to save the match from being crapped on.

Also, Triple H lost to lesnar at Summerslam before winning at WrestleMania and then losing the feud at Extreme Rules. We can all discuss if he should of won there but he lost the feud. If his ego was so extreme he would of won at extreme rules.

Triple H does some things wrong but the hate he gets here is comical at times. Its like that thanks Obama meme. Here its Thanks Triple H.
he's not a draw doe

why does he keep getting tossed into programs

it's a desperate attempt to stay relevant

lol, well you're not wrong I am emotionally invested. I suppose when Brine gets to win the titles it will be such a brilliant moment. Until then I'll keep chewing my TV remote each time he gets screwed.

Bray Wyatt and the Shield is the other reason I look forward to watching each week.
The Shield is done in a matter of weeks.

Bray is losing at Mania when Cena overcomes the odds by beating off three men at less than 100%.

And when D.Brine gets his cup of coffee with the title sometime during the summer, you can look forward to that masterful Christian/Rey Mysterio/Jack Swagger/Dolph Ziggler booking he gets as champ where he gets laid out repeatedly. Although he probably will still close out more shows than Punk did as champ.

My problem with this Mania is that while the company has done as good a job of building new stars as they have in years, their reneiging on it all during the marquee time of year. Missing an opportunity to elevate these guys at pretty much every turn.

Bryan should be in the title match. A victory would provide a classic moment of rare magnitude that would boost Bryan to an A-tier spot forever. Bryan vs Trips makes more sense if Trips is trying to take the title away from him.

Taker should be facing Bray...not only for obvious and natural character reasons, but a match with Taker at Mania would do infinitely more for Bray than being sucked into the Cena vacuum regardless of the outcome.

Cesaro vs Brock. Two guys with physical, brutal, stiff styles and God-Level mouthpieces as their managers seems like a no brainer. Heyman and Zeb would have people white for what would be a strong MOTY candidate.

The Shield should turn face as a group feud with The Authority. Trips & The Outlaws vs The Shield or split off Trips and Reigns to its own match , and have Rollins & Ambrose challenge for the tag titles. This would not only make Reigns solo face run more palatable, but Ambrose would be an even bigger heel when he finally turns on him.

Yeah, it's glorious.

Meltzer: I've been talking to people who do it for UFC and it's the same thing. It's not like you just push a button and it's there. It's a process.

Alvarez: Especially when you have to edit out "Antonio" whenever Cesaro comes to the ring.

Meltzer: Well, they're not going to do that but... <chuckles>

Alvarez: Actually, they did on the NXT show.

Meltzer: <incredulous pause> Did they?

Alvarez: Yeah!

Meltzer: The last NXT show I saw they were still calling Cesaro "Antonio".

Alvarez: Well, apparently the one that's up on the Network, the "Antonio" has been edited off.

Meltzer: Well, I didn't watch it on the Network. I watched it on Hulu. So that's different. But if they put it on the Network and ...

They EDITED out "Antonio"?!? <sigh> Oh god. That is ... I mean, it's like I get it but, I mean, of all the things to worry about. I mean, seriously. That's ... oh my god. It's like they worry about ... like... like... they've got a WrestleMania championship match nobody wants to see and they're spending their time editing "Antonio" out of an NXT show that nobody watches? Oh my god.

Yeah but maybe they took out John so they could continue the shield vs wyatt thing a little longer and THEN John Cena could be in the main event by making it a triple threat match. How awesome would that be? John Cena, Batista, AND Randy Orton in a match! Now that's worthy of a Wrestlemania Main Event!

Yesterday we were all convinced there was no way Bryan wasn't in the main event at Mania, Meltzer and Alvarez included. But now, we find out they're really not changing plans for anything since December, yet were supposed to believe that a guy that wasn't even the first choice to fight HHH at Mania is going to breast him clean, because that is what the fans want.

Just like last year, when it made no sense for HHH to go over Lesnar, right? Remember that?

Bryan can get his win back at Extreme Rules, when only a quarter or less of the people are watching, that's okay too, right? No need to have him go over when a million people are watching after all.

I might be bitter, but everyone here knows I'm a glass half full kind of guy about these things. But even I know when it's time to just stop believing in miracles to happen and realize past patterns do account for something.
I wasn't convinced of that. Not in the slightest. In fact, I can't imagine the mental gymnastics one would have to perform to think a) the main event should be a triple threat or b) adding Bryan to a match between Randall K Boring and Dave "I get gassed after 5 minutes" Batista would make it good, fun, entertaining, or anything other than completely awkward. The plan that was rumored for months is coming true before our eyes. The only difference is that Punk is gone. And everyone just assumed they'd swap Punk for Bryan in the HHH match, which is what they're doing.

Bryan is going to win by the way.

In 2011 he had 4 matches
In 2012 he had 2 matches
In 2013 he had 2 matches

He actually did draw for Summerslam with Brock. I wish complaints here are based on reality sometimes.

Why should anyone get invested in the outcome of that match at all? It's meaningless. As with pretty much everything else on the Mania card.

You guys do it all the time and get all sorts of pissed off. Hell you're doing it now. If you're complaining your invested to some degree.

People sure D. Bry will lose, but won't take avatar bets.

Bryan losing is a toughie. On the one hand, it's HHH, and one of the dirtsheets going around after Punk left said that he left partially because he was set to lose to HHH at Wrestlemania. It would make sense then that if HHH can't bury Punk, he'll bury Bryan instead, especially since after Punk left, dirtsheets started going around saying that Bryan was set to face HHH and that there was no belief backstage that Bryan would win. HOWEVER, after hearing about how Vince wants Punk back, isn't it possible that he'd have Bryan go over Punk to show that things aren't all that bad? Or would that also be rubbing it in Punk's face?

Whatever, Bryan's losing.

That's what I always found so funny. He lost both times to the Undertaker at Wrestlemania recently too, but if you've listened to the WWE propaganda, you'd think he won those. Remember Triple H's "You may have won the battle, but I've won the war" shtick? He was beaten cleanly by 'Taker twice, but they kept pushing that angle down where he pushed him to the limit and basically won without pinning him.

The Lesnar thing was so silly. Brock got his ass beaten like a drum at the biggest stage of them all to a middle aged Triple H, who suddenly became a submission specialist. Brock not only got assistance from Heyman, but still couldn't use that along with weapons to take him down. Brock Lesnar cannot beat him without help! Makes sense, right? To "get his win back" at Extreme Rules was just a way to end the angle, but it's always funny seeing them try to do this at small PPV subsequently after a major one. And of course, that match too was dominated by Hunter and Brock only won due to Heyman's assistance.

I'm sad. D. Bry has kicked out of both the RKO, and now the Choke slam.

I'm afraid one Pedigree might not be enough to keep him down.
HHH is probably going to have the ring rigged to fall apart when he delivers the most devastating pedigree ever.

It's going to be so brutal the ref is just going to call the match without a pinfall.

IMO this made wwe look foolish the actor of
One of the most cartoony fake characters
standing up to a real fighter...wtf?

I would of slapped Mark the UFC mark right
on the spot, surprise Brock held back.

one of wwe's most cartoony characters standing up to a character who just left the cartoony world of wrestling and quickly conquered real fighting.

which makes which look more cartoony?

Pretty sure Brock was just about putting 1 foot in front of the other at that point lol

I'm pretty sure Bryan will win, even working with Hunter logic I think they've learnt their lesson in regards to how not to fuck up a PPV.

Knowing how not to fuck up a PPV? Then why the fuck does it look like Orton/Batista is the plan moving forward?

If Batista wants to keep up this sorry charade of a face run, he needs to be the guy that wants Bryan to be in their main event not just to appease the fans, but in kayfabe prove he can beat Bryan as well. That fucker needs to do that tonight in the Smackdown taping.

Or worse yet, I might get a Christian one.

Duration? I think one full PPV cycle.

I agree that Triple H won't win, so if he does, I'll wear this:

Full PPV cycle.

Let's do this, Brothers in Arms!

Not the Main Event. It was what match Bryan would be at in WrestleMania. The main event is most likely going to be the Taker vs Brock match if I had a guess.

It will be one or the other. It's too bad that Batista flopped and is paying for the sins against D.Bry because they are trying to elevate the meaning of the title. Now it's looking extremely unlikely to be the main event.

It's kinda fun how set in stone the WM card ended up being. People said Cena/Wyatt months ago. Same with Batista/Orton. Only thing that changed was Punk
