Watched Suzuki vs a young Shibata from 2004, lots of fun, Suzuki gave him the respect his strikes deserved before just totally punking him;
I forgot how ridiculously strong Shibata's G1 push was that year, makes me shake my head that he walked out after Chono, Tenryu & Nakamura put him over and he only lost to the eventual winner, Tenzan.

The only way someone gets over as a mega face everyone cheers these days is to make them a heel and let the fans turn them face. It's how Cena did it as a rapper. It's how Orton did it with Legacy. It's how Punk did it with the SES. It's how Bryan did it with his initial Yes chanting. It's eventually how Rollins is going to do it with how he's currently working.
