I was never a big fan of the original crackdown games, so that game has to prove itself for me to really get excited. Gears of War? Haven't been a huge fan of that since after the first game. The first game is the only one I truly enjoyed.
That said, the rest of Microsoft's first party? Pretty damn exciting, to say the least. Microsoft may not have announced a ton of new stuff that we didn't know about prior to E3, but what they do have is still a very great looking first party lineup of games.
Sunset Overdrive looks amazing. This game personally looks and sounds to me more like what I felt the original crackdown games should have been. I felt Crackdown was too shallow and got old fast, that it didn't have enough 'there' there for me to really stick around and care. Sunset Overdrive, on the other hand, has a character with an actual personality apparently that is apart of a real story, no matter how silly that may be, and interacts with other interesting characters. Every system I get sorta needs that one game that you can just hop into and mess around with and not really take things too seriously, and it helps if the game follows that same philosophy. Normally, the kinds of games that give me that kind of relaxation are sports titles like Fifa or NBA 2K. Sometimes you want a break from saving the world and dealing with ultra serious situations. Crackdown tried to do that, but I felt it didn't do it well enough, at least not for me to have fun with it for very long. It needed more to hook me into the experience. This looks to me like crackdown done right and a hell of a lot more ambitious.
Forza Horizon 2 - Don't buy many racers too often, but this one looks very exciting and right up my alley. I'm not a hardcore sim racer fan even though I've bought enough of them over the years. This is more my style.
Halo Master Chief Collection - The thing I wanted, but was never crazy enough to actually think it would ever happen. All 4 Master Chief halo titles this year on the Xbox One, and for $60? Jesus, that's a like a fucking dream. I mean that. I love the Halo franchise. I also can't wait to play Halo 4, which is my all-time favorite singleplayer campaign of the entire franchise, on Xbox One.
Quantum Break is still coming, and I've loved every game Remedy has ever made. They have never made a game I didn't think was awesome. Each of the games they've made are games I would label as some of the best and most memorable games I've ever played. So, needless to say, my excitement is through the roof for their next game.
Fable Legends - I'm very interested in, but admittedly not totally sold on yet, because I really need to get an idea for what, if any, type of story mode is in this game. I want to see some examples of its story structure and to get a better idea of what moving through the world is like in this game.
Scalebound - Holy hell. I couldn't be anymore excited about this game. I literally cannot wait for this thing to come out or to see what the first proper gameplay is like, but my excitement is through the roof.
Halo 5 - The followup to literally the most fun and entertaining Halo campaign I've ever played. I enjoyed the gameplay more than the other Halos, I enjoyed the overall story execution more than the other Halo games, and no other Halo title does a better job showcasing the Master Chief as a true badass. And, to add to that, I firmly believe that no other Halo title comes close to doing Master Chief's character, Cortana's character and the relationship that these two characters share with one another more justice than Halo 4 did. I don't think any Halo campaign was better paced than Halo 4's was. Broken record, but I'm a huge fan of Halo 4, which I'm sure is common knowledge here by now. Now, I've never not once failed to be excited beyond belief for the next Halo title regardless of what I ultimate thought about the last, but I've never anticipated a new Halo quite as much as I am now after playing a Halo title that I feel truly represents the Halo game I've always wanted, one that I feel comes the closest to capturing the Master Chief and the Halo universe that you read about in the books. And, yes, presentation played a significant role in this opinion also. I never liked how many parts of halo 3 didn't feel like it was receiving the red carpet treatment that a franchise as big as that should've received. They finally did that with Halo 4. And, for the record, I'm a purely Halo campaign player. I just could never get into Halo's multiplayer personally, and I've tried. So, yea, even if there was nothing else about the xbox one that I was interested in, I would be there for Halo 5.
D4 - Another game I'm excited about trying out, plus it seems to be genuinely cool with Kinect.
Ori and the Blind Forest looks fantastic, and was one of the best looking titles at E3.
