There were a lot of issues with the game beyond just them trying to make it easier.
Also he signed off on Ninja Gaiden Yaiba which further sent the series down the toilet.

Capcom signed off on DmC which is to me equally a silly move. Thankfully I think both ideas won't come back. I just find it funny people gawk for Itagaki when he mad DOA4 and the devils thrid and except it for NGB which was the third revision don't by largely the same team that did NG3 >_>
Their problem was taking place in the doc. Until then no one cared. It's like how GB will be the best at jojo since there's no competition to play with.

Capcom gets enough shit for DmC but the architect of that action was Inafune who isn't at Capcom anymore. Plus the game isn't even made by Capcom.
Itagaki is a has been as well. NGB took a ton of time to make and that shit doesn't fly these days so I am not even sure if he has it in him to make another great game again.
Thankfully that Ni Oh game looks decent. Hopefully they don't fuck that up too.

I havent played razor's edge, but he definitely fucked up NG3. Still, I always cared about DOA from team ninja more, and DOA5 was a giant improvement over every past installment in the series.
Itagaki was always an asshole, but ninja gaiden 1 and 2 were good games, though NG2 in its xbox 360 iteration was fucking stupid. The PS3 release went to far in the wrong direction, but it was still a lot more fun to play.
I had a shitload of fun with DmC. Great game

Yo this seems like an incredibly unpopular opinion but I totally agree with you. that movie was fucking terrible, especially as a follow-up to alien.

It had nothing that made the original Alien great and ended up being a bland, uninspired, cheesy schlock action movie that was just a shit load of dumb exposition with no substance below it.

Oh yeah, so what's the rule on when you can and cannot counter mid-string? Like I noticed that Rachel's PPP, despite being a string, isn't actually a combo - it drops on the third P. That means it can be countered, but can the second P be countered?
Even general advice is good.

i like Aliens for what it is, it's wonky as a sequel to ALIEN because the tone is 100% different but i like a lot of the characters and there are some really terrific moments towards the end. the opening is sooooooo slowwwww which works for ALIEN because tension is really important to how that film operates but for Aliens, not as much imo
it also pales in comparison to either Terminator IMO
but i still like it

Pretty much anything can be countered by PP comes out pretty fast after each other so even if you could counter the 2nd hit it's hard to do so.

A good portion of Sci fi action games ape Aliens. From Starcraft to Halo.
Some of the greatest and most memorable lines in movie history.

What are other examples of "those types of movies"? I like plenty of action movies and big screen spectacle stuff. I'd say for great action flicks someone like Carpenter has way better output, as an example. I just want to make sure I'm thinking in the same space though since I'm not 100% clear on what we're discussing that would qualify in that discussion.

That's fair, but I meant that scene specifically, more than just borrowing ideas or concepts.
However my favorite Sci Fi/Fantasy movie is Fifth Element. Maybe because nobody ever did a really good mix of sci fi and fantasy since.

Another thing about DOA that you must be mindful about countering is some moves 'jail' you, where you can't counter and you can punish not sure about slow escaping. Misty has 6pp Jailing when you are in handshake position.
You mean John Carpenter the guy who made Escape from New York? I like that movie but come on now his movies got nothing on James Cameron's eye for action direction. Nothing he's got is as memorable as stuff like the Terminator 2 truck chase scene or even the final battle in Avatar.
When I mean those types of movies I am talking about stuff like Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Die Hard or more recent stuff like Mad Max Fury Road or Casino Royale. That's what I mean by blockbuster action movies.
On the other end of the scale of that we have crap like the Transformers movies or Spider Man 3/Amazing Spider Man 2.

I like this art. I just googled Bengus and Darkstalkers and Street Fighter and it's some really good stuff, especially Darkstalkers. I like it alot better than Shinkiro.

Escape from NY was great, Escape from LA was pretty bad though.
And you can't tell me anything in T2 is better than anything in Big Trouble in Little China. I refuse to believe that's a serious statement.
Of those I fuck with Jurassic Park and Die Hard a fair bit. I'm fine with Star Wars and Fury Road and I'm okay with one of the Indiana Jones movies ( think it was raiders?). The rest definitely aren't my thing.
