I didn't know it was an anime thing but I always wanted to fuck a pirate so I guess I fall under that category.


Well mostly sex with a pirate, everything except I don't wanna get pegged.

Infiltration definitely popularised it in SF, but it's becoming more common in other games like Melee. I felt Mango was super successful in 2014 precisely because he dual-mained Fox and Falco; now Armada is dominating with Peach and Fox. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case with many anime games too. Not too sure about Marvel.

Imbalanced fighters like Marvel or Smash Melee are extremely boring to me.

I prefer character specialists, but counter-picking doesn't bother me much since being able to play multiple characters at the highest level is still commendable.

I'm one of those nerds but I'll be on the grind train. My money is on Capcom explaining how fight money is going to be integrated. It can't only be done online cause that would cause an uproar. Probably gonna be like Marvel where you would accumulate points for the amount of time you logged in or the number of matches you've done. I really hope we get to pick another stage besides training room for training, granted it was in the beta but who knows.

Its to get the upper hand when we play street fighter. We still have to have a GAF tournament on PC for those who can. I know the majority of you bums have some free time if you're able to post on this thread.
 
Speaking of anime, next month Nitro Plus Blasterz hits PS4 and PS3 (digital only I believe for PS3). I've been watching and studying up on it for awhile and it has an odd system of checks and balances I'm hoping to explore because I really can't tell if its managed to balance itself or not.

  • Lots of cancel systems and a state that extends magic series stuff
  • air unblockables
  • guard crushes, moves that put opponent in corner, sweeps and a move that gives everyone short hop instant overheady type options.
  • The ability to call two assists at the same time on screen with some assists being incredibly long multihit attacks (ie sorta like a super)

To balance the potential lengthy combos, high chip damage, high amounts of openers they put in
  • Vanishing guard which negates all chip damage, recovers like a just defend leaving both neutral with defender at slight advantage, and it lets you avoid guard crushes and air unblockables
  • only 3 bars of meter to deter super heavy combos with resets creating Touch of death
  • evasive actions
  • breakers
  • assists have both variable cooldown times and startup times
Potentially this created a scenario where Vanishing guard negated most threats so to balance it
  • Vanishing guard cannot cancel into a different vanishing guard...meaning if you vanishing guard a high you cant suddenly vanishing guard a low followup. Its vulnerable to high low.
I have no idea if these things balance each other out somehow. I've watched and watched and I still cant decide what was pure character and system abuse and what was pure skill. I'm gonna go in on this one as well this year alongside of Dengeki Ignition, UNIEL, more Arcana Heart, BB and whatever else I find. If anyone here has experience with the import Nitroplus that already came out please weigh in on this because I can't really tell what to make of it yet.

So far...I'm leaning towards two assists same time not being fully mitigated with Vanishing Guard/ A burst system similar to Dengeki. I need to play to really get a feel for this thing though.

Tournament rules, best 3/5. We would probably get 8 at most unless we include blackvegeta and a few of the other folks like JuiceBox, Saty, etc.

I know I don't post much nowadays but come one, I figured I'd be associated with dudes who would totally be down to play SF4.

Funny thing is that I thought about trying to do a farewell of SF4 tourney about a week before SFV's release like I did one time before SFxT's release. I wanted to give out a prize to, probably would just settle for a Season Pass.

status. Now that we got this running, I was hoping for one day we could have a
r/kappa vs neogaf and see who is supreme, they can use the pro players if they want, idgaf. We here to take names and body.

If we were to do something like this, it would be on a saturday or sunday, assuming those are the days most people are free. Kadey can stream top 3 in a lobby.

I'm pretty much available every night till about 10pm. I've only touched the game probably once in the past 2 months though. I just get too angry playing randoms online so I decided to take a long break. I'm down to play friends or fellow GAF'ers though, just message me on Steam and I'll answer if I'm actually there(I always leave myself as "Online" on Steam).

For now Football has my attention. Watching the games and keeping up with it in general has made the wait for SFV much easier. Hopefully the Broncos can make it to the Super Bowl and win it all. Then SFV is out just a week after.

BTW, RIP Western.

I don't think we've ever played. As for PC, I've been on PC since Vanilla. Though I do spend more time playing on console. I have my consoles and PC in my bedroom so I like the fact that it frees up my PC when I'm waiting for matches.
