Shoot prediction: Xrd will be there and get an 8am Sunday timeslot. People will then pretend the game matters enough to get something better, most likely complaining about Marvel 3 or Melee at the same time

It gets morning because that's what ASW wants

Yeah, isn't it a better time for Japan if it's in the morning? Always heard that, but even if true I don't know that if that's legitimately why they schedule that way or if it's just a convenient excuse.

So many people killed Marvel it's looking like a Caesar assassination.

First Chris killed it, then KBR then Floe.

I don't think there's any way that Marvel doesn't make it at least one more year, but oh my lord the salt would be amazing if it didn't.

The 8/9AM pst slot isn't better for Japan. It's like 1AM/2AM jst in for Japan.

And that didn't stop EVO from putting Persona on Friday night, which according to this logic, EVO would make sure it would get af least Sat. Morning.

Tournaments put Xrd at the morning because they can.

I am mentally prepared for this to be the last year for Marvel 3 (as long as American wins it). It had an excellent run despite extraneous circumstances. Next year we will have more FGs that would need the spotlight.

What else would there be if SF4 is gone, T7 isn't a multi year Capcom lock and KI or MKX don't come back (one of them is bouncing)? There are KOF XIV and a second anime game from ASW as options. Doesn't seem like an overflow of games at all.

Can you post Bison? SRK is blocked at work.

here
M Bison/Vega (Dictator)
Forward Throw - Stun 150 -> 170
Back Throw probably had change but data not available
V-Reversal - On block -3 -> -2
V-Skill - Upper body hurtbox reduced significantly during startup. Head area hurtbox reduced during active
Critical Art - Last hit (?) damage 260 -> 270
5MK - Damage 70 -> 60, hurtbox retracts 1F sooner
5HP - Hurtbox moved backwards during later recovery frames
8HP - Hurtbox expanded downwards
8HK - Hurtbox moved downward
Psychoblast (all except EX and VTrigger) - Hitbox expanded in width
Double Knee Press (Scissor Kick) All non-ex versions - Juggle Potential reduced (?)
VT-Headpress - In counterhit state 2F longer (?)

marvel will stick around forever. The franchise needs to be represented and even though it's a specialist game at this point those specialists are too vocal and too influential for the game to get the anime game treatment. Outside of a C&D from Marvel or a vs. game sequel it will stay at EVO til only 8 people play it.

Sony and Capcom should insist on sfv only to free up space for others and a recalibration of the player base. Can't have the same folks need growth and mixing.

Since Capcom is developing a new fighting game we will probably have a MvC replacement in one or two years.

I remember when ultradavid used to post on gaf :(
GAF gotta up it's 3S game to get him back in here. #kappa

What others? This EVO could have three distinct American scenes, two Smash scenes, SF WW scene, an anime game and 3D with 8 slots. That is without including SF4. Any loss that isn't a 3D game would barely hurt diversity.

You say this, but part of the service model has companies assuming that the current game can be supported for years and there is little to no need to diversify in a current genre.

You guys are missing the obvious. Pokken is coming to EVO! Why else would they implement LAN and give it its own custom wired controller?!

Justin Wong won it, so you have a point of comparison for how dead that game was

.

Well, for the first few years Justin was always at the top of SF IV and you know how that went later :p

Not if you can have two games not cannibalizing themselves as a service model as they are different enough and have different public. Marvel didn't killed SF4 and the opposite is also true.

Are they?

They are recruiting new blood for a fighting game since December. The MvC formula is a pure USA game where the US wins and MVC3, despite his flaws, is still played. There is nobody using the MvC formula except for a few doujins. Not diving into this opportunity would be stupid.

That's just my opinion but a new Marvel vs Capcom / Capcom Fighting All Star seems the most logical thing to do now that SF5 production is done.

I haven't kept up to date (like, at all) on what weeklies are still streaming regularly & which ones to watch for SFV. Are there any that plan to focus on SFV in the post-launch period?

That's not what I read on the Internet!

how much appeal would a non-licensed VS game have, though? I always felt the Marvel half of MvC was responsible for most of its appeal in the US

They've been on and off with their new team fighting game for the past 4 years. I heard rumblings from E3 insiders about it this past year. I hope they have something to show for all of this haphazard scheduling
