All 6Ps except Elphelt have some degree of upper invuln. Frame count and how small their hurtbox shrinks vary per character.

Why are you still getting hit by that lol

If you actually get hit by Rise's satellite beam before it, it actually traps you for a few seconds even if you're blocking. Enough to be hit by her super.

I will admit that there are
still
times where i ran right into it lol.

Poor Elphelt. ;__;

I think she get some upper body invuln during the swing, just not during the huge startup. It's not like she need it either way though.

So since I've been playing so much central fiction I don't want to go back to CPE when I get home, so I think I'll pick up xrd or UNIEL again at that point. Leaning towards xrd since phonon is who I really want to play in UNIEL and she's still arcade only

I just received my Hori Fighting Commander IV. I no longer can use stick due to pain in the hands so this was my last chance to continue playing fighting games.

So far, I'm really impressed. Simple design, good feeling, the pad is top notch, and the fact that they kept the 4 buttons on the back on top of the 6 front button is great idea. I always hated using the left ones, it messed my input.

Only downside, no jack for headset, so you'll have to use a USB one.

Waiting on SFV release now he he he.

If they get predictable with chain patterns, mid chain loses cleanly to some character's 6P. Also, Zato's drills stay active for a long time, if Axl activate the chain stance during neutral or take long pauses between chain attacks, summoning a drill mean he can't attack as long as the drill is active.

If he's not giving you a chance to summon a drill by being too aggressive, then it should be easy to blitz him off since there's no high/low guessing with the chains.

Good advice here. Drills are very effective against Axl in general as it stops most of his long range normals.

Its getting kinda tense in here, folks take it easy on each other. Discussion is completely fine but don't make the animosity so damn obvious. From the folks who come from the Caribbean, its almost second nature to talk about a women's body and see extremely revealing attires on a day by day basis. Its a very sexual culture and rewards thirstiness and if you aren't chasing some tail, then something is wrong with you, which is what personally upsets me about the culture. Granted, Shin got his warning and I'm glad he's still posting. Just please post links as NSFW cause I remember my boss passing through my work area and I scrolled not knowing there was NSFW image, luckily it wasn't like that image he recently posted.

So a new local gaming spot opened up in NYC yesterday. The store is called Xenozero inc it's located in lower Manhattan and they do TCG and street fighter on ps4. I figure this will end up being the go to spot for street fighter 5 after Next Level closes its doors. Here's the Facebook page if any NYC-fgcgaf wants to check them out https://www.facebook.com/xenozerogaming/

Folks will follow Henry Cen and Spooky till they both retire and name an heir to the dynasty. I don't see Henry giving up on the business just yet, plus I know the man is looking for a new venue but its nothing official as of yet.

One of the major appeals of the FGC is that you can go to a tournament and play against a top player as your first match in pools.

Even if you don't win you can have memorable personal moments like "oh man I took one round off Tokido!" or "OMG I hit FChamp with that crazy gimmick!"

Real talk, I faced F. Champ second round and I got him down to his Phoenix twice since QuackBot taught me the match up the day before. Holy hell is Phoenix terrifying... Makes you do stuff you wouldn't normally do.

A girl doesn't get in the way of her man's private person time.

hey kadey, i think aris read your post about viewers potentially getting bored of him because of dark souls. he has been playing other games for the past couple of days now.

Aris reads NeoGAF?

ya'll have to see this video

it's fucking hilarious

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfS02WjRU8g

Watch the video, I need these legendary tatsus for a character in SFV. This straight up looks like a bad mugen clone. Real talk, is there netplay for mugen?

my boss just walked past me while i was browsing this page and now i'm fired.

thanks a lot shin

Are you being serious?

Yams is a good man. I trust in him.
He's obviously not good if he's using that.

Been picking up Ryu lately with SF4

I don't know why. He's so boring compared to Ken. But I guess I like playing him the same way I liked playing Sagat.

Squeezing blood from a stone, and then using that blood to zone people

Ryu is not an easy character to learn, you have to really dig deep and understand the mechanics of the game to realize how much of a learning tool he is. I wouldn't call him the most honest character in USF4 since he has some cheap stuff but its very good to learn the game through playing him.

Yams, how do Carribeaners feel about digital thirst?

Man, I am the most drill happy Zato you have ever faced. I kept getting counterhit, though. :/

I think Axl is just one of those matchups where you have to actually be good with Zato, which is why I struggle, lol.

I am glad Dizzy is coming, but after watching a LOT of gameplay, I feel confident that I would take Testament over her.

Somehow his boringness was a refreshing change for me from Ken. Now I actually have to make people walk into my cr. mk instead of just tossing it out. Sweep whiff punishes are fun too

Pornographic material or anything relating to the matter in being revealing is worshiped. Its really a culture thing that we're all raised with, although you will be made fun of for the digital part since you aren't doing it with a real women and would be asked where the fun is in that. Granted, that's an older school of thought of people just go to internet cafes to get their stuff done, its a terrifying reality man...

Aris reads?

God damn.

Lol, I was scared he lost his job. Ryu is really fun, you have to manipulate the player as you would normally in any game, but you have less cheap stuff in your arsenal so it feels a lot cleaner than say using Rolento.

Almost everyone is clean compared to Rolento lol

Ryu feels cleaner than Sagat. He can't sometimes get lucky with random Tiger Knees and he has no Karas

You never see them coming, though.

When everyone was buying it. Its been a couple of weeks now, an eternity in FGHQ terms. Plus there was a spacial code at the time that made it $12 instead of $15.

. . . but it's not like everyone's games have dissolved or anything.

people got it so they could play

Hey Blackule, how do you feel about SFV contra SFIV these days?

Alright, I meant to reply to this days ago but never got around to it lol.

I've grown a lot more fond of the changes in SFV or at least the last beta version and I hope most of them stay. Hard knockdowns on CH sweeps has been my favourite change in the latest beta. While I feel like I understand some of the changes I don't agree with all of them.

In SFIV invincible backdashes were a bit too abusable with certain characters (Rose) and their answer to that was to take away the invincibility on backdashes which was a smart change.. but they also added a counter hit property if you're hit out of a back dash.. that change I don't like. I really don't think you should get the same treatment for whiffing a DP as to trying to back dash. (or forward dash in some cases :/).

I prefer most of the SFIV iterations of the characters compared to their SFV versions except for Chun and Dhalsim.

I don't like how stubby normals feel in this game compared to SFIV as well.

I'd like for there to be a way to use ex meter while still having a CA stocked. Maybe adding another 3 bar gauge on top of the existing one, or having a 4 bar gauge and having CAs cost 3 bars. Not totally related to SFIV, but just something that I'd like.

I'm still undecided if I like no chip KO's. On one hand - making a comeback is a lot more viable since they have to really open you up to get that last hit (or CA) on the other hand - I feel like if you're playing a turtle/zoning character, you're negatively affected by the fact that you can't kill them with chip. You either have to go in and get that last hit or have them slowly walk you down without much fear of dying to fireballs.

I've already voiced my opinion on how barebones the game feels in general. All I can do is hope they make the game feel less constricted in the newer builds.

I found the last build and Laura really fun, but I just don't see the game having all too much depth.
Yes I know combos =/= depth
I hope I'm wrong about it though.

This is the first time I'm hearing about backdashes being counter hit on punish. Early on backdashes were throw invincible, is that still the case?

Thanks. :)

Agreed on the meter management angle. It feels off to me right now. Especially with Bison.

I predict Count will be ASS in SFV but will continue playing it anyway cuz thats what everybody(including Daigo) is playing now
I take it that you haven't seen his play.

Backdashes are reserved for the hardest of throw reads now

Get crush countered son

You can also jump them.

It made the R. Mika MU a lot easier when I realized that if I think they're going to tick throw or throw me on my wakeup, I could just neutral jump and get a full punish coming down.

I'm surprised they didn't make command throw/SPD whiffs a CH state as well at this point.

Yeah Count is quite good with Laura from the footage we've seen.

After seeing how Rocwell/Jibbo played Laura, I really want to incorporate what I've learned from watching them and put their tech into my game..but I can't do that until February :(

it never left

Command grabs definitely, regular throws they may have time to block depending on timing/your jump height.

Yeah if you just time the jump when the beams come down you can just block it in the air ajd avoid it. I've been playing so much SF recently i forgot air blocks were a thing.

Listen i love the game but i never said i was good at it.

So I'm really interested in the HORI Fighting Commander 4 and wanna buy it. However, and I might be confusing it with something else, that a new one is going to come out. Should I wait for the 5 or buy the 4?

Capcom, please give us beta phase 4 *cries*

I haven't heard a thing about FC5.
