Could just be me, but those prices don't seem that crazy for arena pricing? I was expecting more for the reserved seating honestly.

Registration pricing is out for EVO. Wonder if it still $10 per game.
@EvilMrWizard: Evo 2016 registration (Fri-Sat) will be $30 for the first week, then $40 for early bird, and then $60 for regular price. #Evo2016

Arena pricing
@EvilMrWizard: Evo 2016 Arena tickets will run $40 + tax for general admission (sit anywhere) and $85 + tax for a reserved seat on the floor. #Evo2016

So ~$75 for a "normal" ticket to both days, and ~$125 for floor seats(adj. for tax). I'm totally okay with that. I know I'm new to this whole EVO thing but I'm pretty happy I can get floor seats for less than mid-grade tickets to a SEC football game.

Reading on twitter, Wiz says arena seats will be sold via http://www.axs.com/

Tempted to buy a pair of floor seats and resell them. If Wiz gonna eat, I might as well too.

Base on what Mr.Wizard is saying, I'm thinking scalping is an option. The only thing that you can't do is sell the tickets after using them (ex. on Finals Day watching only Smash and then selling the tickets outside to people who want to see SF):

@EvilMrWizard Is there anything in place to stop scalping on the more expensive seats?

Joey Cuellar
@dylanhecht I don't even know how you stop it for regular sports teams.

@EvilMrWizard Are the tix gonna be locked to a name, or can they be sold to others once we see the game we wanted to see on the floor?

Joey Cuellar
@TheRamonLuna tickets won’t be locked to name but once you use them, there will be security measures in place so you can’t resell.

Of course, I have no idea how they're going to enforce that. If you try and leave the Arena on sunday are you just not allowed back in?

Yeah that pricing isn't shit. I paid $285 for Wrasslinmania tickets and feel like I got a fantastic deal for the seats I got.

I'm kinda lost that you guys think Evo pricing overall is way more than last year.

Evo 2015 = $70 + 10 per game (All 3 days)
Evo 2016 = $30 + 10 per game (Fri/Sat) and $40 for arena general admission.

Roughly the same price as last year.

I like that it is constantly looking for matches and I am at a .500 win/loss so i suppose the balance is there. You can bind the keys 3 ways. I had my 360 controller hooked up and played it a round before going back to mouse and keyboard seamlessly.
I like the fact you gain bonus XP for beating your personal best or your average stats on damage, kills, assists and damage output.

There are level/character stats you can get rewarded like objective points, healing, damage absorbed, specials used. Its pretty robust.

I think SF5 can scrape all that data and surface it and use it as a reward for fight money (EX bar used) v-trigger not wasted, defense, blocked crossups and overheads.

All I am saying, Overwatch, the first beta was broken, laggy and didn't hook me. What did was finding the areas where each character shines or what role they play with other players.

This is where I don't feel awesome about. Its like you have to lead a target as if you are sniping someone a few hundred meters away vs under a hundred meters. And bullet speed is different for each character as well as bullet drop. I feel like the element(?)/bullet type hurt differently depending on characters? There are some near instant hit like the sniper rifle and the gorillaz electricity.
I am not a fan of the pop up and feel like some moves need more hitstun or effect walk speed when hit. Its granular stuff.
Trying to think of it as a marvel game makes me enjoy it and my co-workers who crack on DOTA like it (minus) not having more "lanes" or points of egress..

this is useful thanks. looking at the melee and support characters right now.

The prices are perfectly reasonable tbh, it's just that now the cheapest option is more expensive than the most expensive options in previous years.

Then in my case add to that the fact that the dollar to mxn peso exchange rate is on the border of going 1:20 and financially it's not looking too good this year x_x

I'm curious what ticket prices would have been if the floor was general seating and the stands were reserve seating.

I think I usually pay $180 each for pens tickets, but paying 180 for a hockey game is still easier to swallow for me than paying $40 for a single top 8 since I would only care to watch guilty gear.

well, that comparison is a little disingenuous considering that 70 was the absolute best package pricing, paying 70 in 2016 isnt getting you a seat up close

This only serves to remind me of the fact I registered my Wii U with an US address in order to pay the (then cheaper) US prices on the eShop.

Man...

Evo 2014 at the Westgate was 50 + 10 for all 3 days though, as I recall. I had a front row seat in 2014 as well because I got there early. So if I wanted to replicate that it's 125 compared to 60 the year we were at the Westgate or 45 more compared to last year. So it's a definitely a jump, maybe not for everyone, but for some folks it definitely is.

If we were at Bally's/Paris then the Mandalay Bay, I'd say it would be a damn steal. Then again, I made more than at Westgate's Casino then most people that placed that year...Hmm.

Yes, but we raised prices last year and that has no effect on the current arena pricing.

Granted I've never been to EVO, but compared to any other sporting events those prices look incredibly fair. Not to mention you're going to have a lot more to watch than any other event for those prices.

while true, most people that are going to sporting events aren't having to also factoring the costs of traveling, which makes any rise in price for an event like this stand out more

RIP Marvel players crowding the front of the stage. Side betting will be done in the nose-bleeds. Hype will be contained in the stadium seating.

Some hardcore shilling right here.

I hope Capcom/Madcatz pulls a Nintendo and has someone else secretly play for Lupe in the showmatch

If it's SFV I don't think it's a good look for the game for someone to play it badly

Their controllers will be switched. Daigo will play for Lupe and Lupe for Daigo

Why do you assume Lupe is gonna play badly? He should hold his own unless Daigo picks Zangief.

I know. I'm just saying that from an overall perspective, it's more expensive to folks like the ones that get there early for front row seats or the ones that go do other things later in the evenings or after their tourneys.

Is there anything being done for non-English language folks to be able to secure Reserved seats if they want? I saw a mention on twitter that JP players were asking about the HIlton because the Westgate was sold out. That reminded me of the arena situation a few days ago.

Somebody should convince the Mandalay sports book to put it on the main screen.

That'd be pretty amazing, lol
