These flavor of the month people come and goes. No matter how the game is they will buy it, play it for a few and move onto something else.

For me, I'm going to use Tekken Tag 2 as how robust a fighting game title should be released in this day and age and SFV fails miserably compared to it. Then again it takes forever for a Tekken game to come to consoles so they have all the time in the world to put as many things in it as possible. SFV was obviously rushed out.

Tekken Tag 2 actually only took a year to transition from arcade to console. The wait was not that long at all. It also had smooth netcode and World Tekken Federation service running day 1 without any glitches or issues.

Tekken 7 is now the longest we'll ever have to wait for Tekken to come to consoles, which is pissing off a lot of us. Greedy bamco. Though, I guess it's good for the franchise's health. I was just mentioning in the other thread that despite arcades dying, Tekken has never been more profitable. Namco wants to capitalize on that success and milk arcades dry. Lupinko alone has mentioned spending $1,000 USD on the game.

Played a mika with 18 wins, destroyed mika with gief. Then comes the rage quit, now i understand the win streak.

Im surprised there is no punishment for disconnecting.

I feel like I understand people are mad about SFV missing some modes, but I don't understand why the reaction is being so overblown as if the game offers nothing of value.

Just odd.
i think the problem is that it costs the same as every fighter which offers more to do than it

it's cool if having the new SF is worth $60 to you, heck i'd pay double for a new VF with only vs and no training. but thats because we love these games, value is relative.

It's funny but never thought I'd be more excited about MK X with the new netcode than playing SF V or KI season 3 but that's exactly what's happening.

Has Ricki given any indication to who she's using in SFV? Any stream or something?

Chun is definitely higher execution and I dare any mother fucker who said this game has low execution to stop playing Nash or Laura and play Chun Li and then shut the fuck up.

I def made a mistake choosing to learn Chun Li, but I feel like it's too late to change my character.

Try mashing something on the VS screen; I've only Share Played a bit of Enbu, but the original PC version let you cancel out of the VS screen WELL before the music really gets going.

The game is rather Samurai Shodown in style -- counter hits are a big, big, big, big deal in this game, and there's not a ton of stuff that leaves you at major advantage. To put it in SF terms, imagine if Crush Counter caused a Focus Attack crumple state.

Command normals have very similar properties between characters (6B is usually an overhead that bounces on CH, 3C is a sweep, etc.) but actual usage and properties vary a good bit. It's a quick and fairly grounded footsies game with Anime Porno Game aesthetics, so naturally, it's totally screwed now that a grounded footsies game with more widely-appealing characters has launched.

I like playing the Wei general with the bow, Xiahou Yuan. She has the expected arrow attacks, which can be delayed to frame-trap and snipe people out of the air, a weird hit-grab which I *think* has clash frames but is surprisingly hard to use for such, and a really weird and cool teleport special. You create a blue sparkly "field" at a range you select on the ground, and if the opponent is touching it, you'll warp behind them and shoot an arrow, which you can link off of on counter-hit. It's a really neat tool to keep people on their toes and potentially get out of bad situations if you use it smartly. (And I think the EX version, in addition to tracking the opponent, has startup invincibility).

If you see someone at a tournament running it in the Poverty Corner, go give it a try! It's A Good Game(tm)!
I ran that bow character! I used her the first 3 matches when I was trying to find modes and her teleport is pretty cool. Usually the recovery is after the teleport and the startup is near instantaneous with most pixies. That character though has like no recovery once she ports. She has a startup for certain the way she spins before disappearing but then you can act pretty much the second she appears back on screen. Pretty nice stuff.

Definitely surprised at just how footsie and fine Koihime Enbu plays. I know I wasn't expecting the nice online stuff. Really diggin I can either hit the lab or run vs sets vs the AI or a friend while waiting for sets. Thats pretty cool.

Wait a month then join the Kingdom of Ibuki, then another month to join the Principality or Urien.

I really should get a PS4, but things are still out on PS3.

I'm not sure why people are so excited about Daigo's stream. Like how different would it be from when he's on Topanga?

Probably more gameplay. Daigo is usually on Topanga explaining past tournament results and to promote his books/manga. So he only ever gets in like 1-2 games on stream.

New players are going to learn real quick not to mash DPs in this game.

Had some actual time to play SFV today. Rock solid netcode, played like 12 games won most of them. Takes a while in between matches though. Only had two disconects today so it seems like they have finally fixed something.

Also I beat Survival on Normal. How much Harder is Hard? Normal was a joke except for like the last 2-3 fights where the AI suddenly started blocking everything. Seems insanely tedious just to get some fight money and new colors.

The last 2-3 fights of normal difficulty start around like level 15 of hard I hear

Wish I had the same experience. The load times are terrible. Finding matches take forever. Every match has jittery rollbacks.

My pad was stolen at tonight's local. Oh well!

That sucks. Hopefully your community is tight enough to find out who it was.

One of the benefits of having a close community and resources being shared like a cabinet or shared sticks where people don't always need to bring their own controller.

Load times are long for sure in between matches. But once the match starts it's pretty solid. I only experienced one guy with the jittery rollback (was a Ken player too).

I think the server tries to find 5 bar matches only or something.

Which depending on where you live/what time of day it is, might be impossible.

Which means either you wait a long time for good matches, or wait a much longer time...for bad matches.

Hopefully this is not why lol
