I wish they had just tossed the slot over to Combo Breaker when it was clear that there were issues with the event. It's not like SCR wouldn't have gotten a slot next year.

We were somewhat hopeful as well. I'm confident Valle will reschedule successfully though, so the slot isn't lost.

Give it to TFC, it was a CapCup automatic qualifier the past 2 years and most importantly, I only live 1 hour away from the city that it takes place in. So I can easily be there and chill with Daigo and company.

Yeah I feel like TFC might be a little less hype this year, I'm about 20 minutes away.

That won't last, CEO is a premier event, so it'll bring out all the heavy hitters, and reg won't end until mid June so people have plenty of time.

Well, my arcade stick is now officially 100% dead. FML

Rest in Peace, Hori HRAP3, it's been some good years.

At least I can salvage the Seimitsu parts for another stick, I suppose. Now I really hope someone comes up with a PS4 solution for Hitboxes.

Just wondering, but you do know that TFC is in Charlotte this year instead of Raleigh, right? As for the hype, it'll be hype regardless. But it'll definitely be less hype without that guaranteed spot and all the internationals that would be in attendance if it were a Premier Event.

As for CEO, USF4 will probably get to 400+ by the end. I know Smash(probably both) is easily capable of crushing that, it just depends how important CEO is to the majority of Smash players that can travel.

Given the size of Melee & Wii-U's player base, and that it isn't a strict overlap, I'd imagine either or both of those games maintaining competitive numbers with USFIV.

Can't touch the stuff Konami put out for Otomedius Excellent.

Brown one on left BTW is a Belmont. Kokoro Belmont is now something you are aware of and cannot forget. There is a female moe belmont who straddles a spaceship and fires whips and axes at lolis. Sounds like an arc sys character actually lol

I still haven't opened my copy of Otomedius Excellent. It was like less than $20 when I bought it.

It aint worth opening honestly. I bullethell like crazy, collect the shit and play em all. Otomedius is a really poorly designed Gradius style shmup with a LOT of DLC cast tacked on. Bosses just straight up leave if you don't kill them in time ruining score farming, enemies spawn all over the place on the cube chase level (dont ask) and get you killed and like Gradius you have to perfect run the whole thing or your entire run is worthless. One hit and you lose ALL your powerups and when you return you are so weak you can't take out the enemies that spawn fast enough to prevent further death or score ruinization.

Its just a shit tier shmup with a lot of heavy handed DLC and Moe pandering.

Go buy Crimzon Clover World Ignition, and some Cave titles instead.
Buy hey Moe fuck pillow!
You are now aware of Moe Fuck Pillows from Konami. You are now aware that "Moe Fuck Pillows" should be the name of the big breasted one in yellow. You are now aware of Moe Fuck Pillows being a potential fighting game character should Konami do a fighter someday and draw from this franchise for cast.

Capcom experimented a lot between 1996 and 2001, and they never were able to properly implement their ideas in any game they made. When you take a long hard look at the company, Capcom never was the best in making fighting games. Namco, SNK and Sega had better teams in terms of technical abilities (having better game systems, as even a failed game like KOF 2012 implemented an excellent custom combo mechanic while Capcom failed 3 time in a row: SF alpha 2, 3 & CvS 2).
Sorry? What are the problems with Vampire Savior? And don't you agree that experimenting a lot makes you fail a lot?

When you launch a lot of games, certainly you are going to miss more than you hit. From 96 to 2001, I'm counting, for Capcom:
SFAlpha 2
Star Gladiator
XvSF
Warzard
SF3: NG and its sequels
MSHvSF
Super Gem Fighter
Vampire Savior 2
MvC and its quite different sequel
Rival Schools and its quite different sequel
Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein
Jojo's Venture and its sequel
Power Stone and its quite different sequel
Final Fight Revenge
Spawn: In the Demon's Hand
CvS

While SNK made:
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special
KoF96
Samurai Shodown IV
AoF3
Waku Waku 7
KoF97
Last Blade
KoF98
Samurai Shodown 64
KoF99
KoF2000
Garou: MotW

Are you really saying that all of those experiments failed and that this tiny and way less varied catalog from SNK is better in every regard? I mean, I would take Rival Schools or Power Stone over SamSho IV any day of the week. And I love SamSho (and IV was better than III).

(by the way, I just went through GameFAQs listing and probably missed some releases for both companies)

Anyone else feel Justin Wong is gonna wreck MKX at NW Majors this weekend? I've been watching his and Arturo's streams and even though the game is early and they've only been playing online, Justin Wong just looks so much stronger. His Raiden is absolutely ridiculous.

Should be a good showing for MKX, Battle Circuit's small tournament was good if thats anything to go by. Also curious how Sonic Fox is doing now that he has more time with the game, his initial showing was pretty spectacular for only 2 days.

We haven't seen ChrisG play much yet but he was also a tester and will be at NWM.

But Justin has a long history of dominating brand new games, so yeah I expect him to do really well.

Not really. I've seen him and he's good, but I've seen him try to main Raiden in MK9 before too. He'll hold his own but I fully expect if someone like Pig of the Hut, SonicFox, Perfect Legend, or MIT is there then he will get taken out. There's not really a Wong Factor in MK.

The most recent stream I watched with Pig playing he looked strong. He's probably my favorite MK player so hope he does well in MK X.

From the stuff he's been doin' with Kenshi I'd say he's gonna be in his comfort zone with this game. You should read his training regiment. Guy is nuts.

I like how M'Ellis basically just retconned what happened in the Blazblue community last year. That was very cool and good.

I mean, if you wanna look at it that way. Tbh a lot of us were dumb about it at the time(both sides), but the point still stands of what happened competitively. I'm trying get past all the dumb shit and just focus on what happened with the game.

In case you are curious, I don't dislike the kid at all. He has a lot of potential, it's actually a shame he's not getting the experience he needs. With BBCP being out of most tournaments he's not going anywhere as far as I know, and from what I've heard(just what I've heard in passing) he had some disagreement with DC that made him not travel with him anymore.

Seeing that Justin went 11-10 with Art while sonic fox straight dominated Art without trying too hard, I think the specialists have a leg up this time around.

Who knows, maybe he'll go into the lab with floe and own everyone like last time
