See like this is the stuff that just makes me wonder if I'm desensitized to the internet while also wondering if people have no internal check that makes them question what they're getting into. It doesn't bug me but fuck if I don't find it interesting how many people play the "stop censoring/harrassing me, I'll do what I want" card with the crap they use as avatars (speaking from old mod experiences I've had).
Going through that USGamer thread right now...maybe they gotta start handing this out more often:

I still can't believe that figure. It actually beats out Epic Mickey by almost double the number of posters. How the hell do two dimensional tits send grown ass posters into the abyss like this man?
We already lost animated avatars to the ether breh. Don't take my only means of identification/personality away from me.
Too eager to put people into frame traps without remembering that mods have command grab guard cancels for free.
Now back to fighting games for a bit before Shouta escorts me out of the studio, that Xrd event was really really high production. Is this a new thing with gamer-focused PS4 era Sony helping out or just one of those events that would happen normally that just got a sponsorship on the spot?

Yea they do. I actually was banned for 2 weeks before. It was a thread someone was asking about the Oneechanbara costume and what was so funny about it. I don't play the games but there was a gaf thread before on it, I went through found it and posted it and mentioned that it should be fine because there was a gaf thread on the costume that wasn't closed. Then I got a ban for 2 weeks. Just to satisfy my curiosity to see if it was still up, I did try to search for the thread but it seemed to be deleted after the 2 weeks, so I would think someone retroactively did it.

There are no bad people, just bad threads, don't go outside and stay safe.
Then again, fighting game players traditionally like to go in hard... sometimes, too hard.
I suspect the extreme reaction is due to the... particular nature of some of the content in the games in question. I get the feeling that the powers that be want nothing to do with it... and frankly, I can't blame them.
I also suspect that this meta-discussion isn't going to go over very well with the higher ups. -_- Lemme go hide under a rock.

It's just the thing that I spoiler tagged is what gets me. When I see dustloop users and even mods using NSFW avatars that are cropped to just the head/face, I do get a little weirded out. Especially thinking that some people see them as community leaders. Not saying even 90 percent of the users there do this. It was just a little turnoff on me posting at DL again.

Simple fact: Lots of nerds are so ingrained into nerd culture, they consider even things like hentai to be a part of normal, everyday conversation. They consider it ironically funny, rather than an identifier that says "I WATCH ANIME PORN".
How does it get to that point? When the only people you talk to day-in and day-out are people like you, and blocking/ignoring people you don't like can get you there quickly.

LOL you guys have me legit paranoid now. I've never been banned in my 9+ years at GAF.
But to get back on topic, this Japanese USF4 tournament is pretty good. Plenty of top players so the matches are pretty high quality. I hope this is trend that continues in Japan. Oh and I can't wait for the North American SFV stress test, tired of using alternate accounts. And uh, those Daigo GGXrd videos are pretty hawt to...doh.

It's like the guy who kept showcasing his anime love pillow on the player cam during blazblue semi finals at evo last year.
Sometimes I wonder if Ogawa went easy on him on the first two matches. Regardless, Daigo's fundamentals from Reload and his recent training, he was looking pretty solid. You can see the routes he learned from Machaboo and the practice he got with Sako.
Too bad he most likely won't be returning to Xrd unless he gets asked to do another promotion.

I just log in and played a few matches in USF4 online for the first time in like 8 months. Felt good FGW. I was hella rusty though lol.
Ogawa makes Zato look Ivan Ooze levels of broken when an opponent is cornered.

I wish Kazunoko was as strong as he was in AC and even +R. I dunno if it's because Sol doesn't mesh well with him or because he doesn't focus on Xrd as much as he did for past GG. I'm actually impressed and really liking Sako's Zato though. Him and Ogawa play pretty differently, but I wouldn't say Sako's straight up inferior at all. Lots of nice strings and use of P Shadow and Dead Man's Hand setups. Despite going only 1-3 against FAB, I'd say so many of the rounds came close. FAB's just a beast.

I'm honestly surprised over some of the post people got banned for since its just them voicing their opinions. I guess the fact that turtle disagreed with the article got him banned... Also, I don't know what the game looks like, can't even find a trailer.

Finally finished Arkham Knight, I can now go back to fighting games for a bit. Though I still have to finish the Riddler mission. Don't think I'm in the mood to waste time collecting trophies and photographing references, though.

hmm gaf bans are always subjective and sometimes not consistent. But its to be expected on a volunteer mod based forum.
I honestly thought I would be banned for calling out various individuals pretty hard. One in particular I mistook for another user (sorry geoneo and gutabo). I was even reported by atleast 1-3 people in the last EVO thread for going hard on people that were complaining about matches they didn't get to see (justin vs chris g etc etc). And I know a mod was definitely lurking in that thread because they posted later that page. I even went pretty damn hard on Theseks in the p4a OT with a mod posting like 3 post under me as well. I guess I'm just lucky.
I do know to avoid any controversial threads. Those anime threads are just landmines regardless of your stance and what you post.
