So Teddie was...buffed?
 
I played a bit with him yesterday and...are his charge times a bit longer than the usual? I noticed it specially in his super/ultras, really weird

They didn't change any of his charge times, I doubt they nerfed him ... :(

Could you tell if U1 still had the buff they gave it?

and you didn't answered my question earlier, in aev2012, are his charge times a bit longer than the usual? I played deejay a bit yesterday and could feel a bit of the struggle. it's pretty real

man, crumple into ultra is hard as balls to do, and ultra 1 doesn't even connect entirely! And that's not changing according to the change list

You know how its hard to make Rolento suck, due to his base design having so many good options built in? I wonder if Deejay is the opposite. Tuning can only get you so far.

Idk if Deejay's charge times are longer than other characters because it feels regular for me since I've been using him so long. They could be? Wouldn't be surprised if they were.

And yea, Focus Attack into U1 barely works. Probably the only character in the game that has to deal with that type of shit and they've done nothing to change it. Probably since they didn't get any feedback from players since nobody uses Deejay.

Can't wait for the army of T.Hawk players to come out the woodwork saying "I've been using him since Super bro, check my stat$"


I've been talking to NualphaJPN a bit too, he's from Canada.. switching from Deejay to Guile tho :/

Just make him like super turbo deejay as far as damage is concerned :p

What's the point of DeeJay in SF4 anyways? Why not just play Guile?

Until I have Ultra in my hands, DeeJay is but one of the three people in AE that I give a damn about. The roster count in AE is impressive, yet I can't be bothered to learn more than around ~3

Well seeing how SF4 has probably around 80% of the characters from street fighter games in it. Sounds to me like you just don't like street fighter characters

It's still missing quite a few Alpha and 3 characters.

Maybe I should reword my statement; I think AE's roster is impressive. But actually sitting down to learn the characters there's about 3 that I really care about. (Adon has been my main since Alpha, and my main in SF3 is Oro). The Addition of Ultra adds another 4 characters (everyone but Hugo) for me to fuck around with.

I haven't taken the time to look at Ibuki / Juri / Oni / Abel's changes, though. If they're good I might fuck with them

Did you see new footage? I already figured she would be good in a SF4 environment. The ex reka jump cancel is just silly though

I'm surprised they gave that to her. Now she can either go into ultra or pull off Sakura/Yang style resets. Either way you called it; her sfxt iteration was going to excel in the sf4 engine.

I'm going to try her out too though, for sure.
By the looks of it she fits the character archetype I gravitate towards. For reference the characters I played in AE were yang, Sakura, juri, and Ken. I think her st.mk cancels into rekka and it itself looks like a pretty good normal. She seems to have a solid ground game and she can also pressure with rekkas and jaguar kicks. She seems versatile as hell and I like that in a character.
 
They nerfed Hugo from the previous build it seems. He could anti air consistently with st.Hp because of armor in the previous build, now the armor seems very limited.

Thawk looks good now.. Too good?

I don't think Sagats counters Hawk, it's just a regular win for him. It's nothing like Sagat v Gief! If I had to pick a general anti-grappler character in this game, I'd probably go with Juri. Or Blanka, but Blanka is ass in like every other matchup and Juri seems really good overall heh.
 
I think you guys are underrating Dee Jay's changes. I mean, look at this buff:

"Far standing HP late active frames now float airborne opponents on counter-hit."


Can't wait to see all the new strategies threi and blackule come up with to abuse this game-changer.

So glad Ibuki's neckbreaker was reverted back to how it is in all the other games in Ultra's final build. It being soft knockdown before was really dumb.

It ain't like none of you are competing at the highest level where it actually matters.

I'm gonna do what I always do and pick Sagat and tiger uppercut the shit out of scrubs

The 2-frame link got taken out because it they got feedback that it was "too easy" from Vega players.
