Going by google translate it sounds like they have big cross-media plans for SNK IPs.

Panax acquisition SNK, we value more than just game IP so simple, but more attention to the value of SNK linkage between the various protagonists work, and hope to build SNK-based gaming industry in the 'diffuse prestige mode' Man Wei has "Iron Man", "Thor," "Captain America" and many other IP, its IP for diversified development, the formation of a complete IP business ideas comics, games, movies and coordinated development, light ten Granville Man movie has been created $ 7.2 billion in total revenue, "Avengers" series of the second creation Man Granville full play to the leading role of the unique value of diffuse Wei hero, achieved great commercial success. The 'Man Granville mode' also applies to SNK, " KOF second creation "series itself is based on the" Fatal Fury, "" Art of Fighting "and other early roles of IP in its ideas and 'Man Granville mode' is exactly the same, plus SNK's up to more than 1,000 different personalities role in creating 'SNK mode' just around the corner. With consoles now legal in China, it might indeed be a market they'll invest in.... or they could also be of the Konami school of thought and go full F2P mobile bonanza. We will have to see. Wonder how the new 2.5D KOF is coming along.

Aren't KOF and a lot of other SNK IPs super popular in China? Like wasn't there that Chinese fighting game that was a near ripoff of KOF that eventually got actual KOF fighters for a crossover?

Still, has SNK made anything since KOF 13? Are they on the mono-Pachinko chain? I feel like they've been silent for years. I mean I know there were rumors that they working making a new KOF but we haven't seen ANYTHING.

Apparently KOF97 is China's Street Fighter 2 and is still popular as heck there.

As for games that would interest us, no they haven't done anything like that since XIII.

They did release Metal Slug Defence (F2P mobile) game and that got over 24 million downloads so it has to be one of their most successful games in a long time.

to put this into context, the most watched FG stream of all time is a chinese stream of a KOF 97 tournament last year, which peaked about over 500k simultaneous viewers.

this isn't some big risk purchase, you can bet your fucking ass that KOF is gonna get a PC f2p release of some sort and those guys are gonna get rich beyond all belief with kof 97/98 part 2: now with k' edition

Damn that's impressive.

And yeah, this could definitely turn into something big for them if they play their cards right.

Rising Thunder is a lot of fun. It's become my Hearthstone alternative, I can sneak in a game of either during random breaks in the day (sorry to my opponents who've played me on less-than-stellar wifi connections; my Vlad mixup is formidable in those connections :p).

As long as you don't ask about two button dash, I'm ok with whatever

Never trust Douyu numbers. Sometimes I see a stream with like 5k viewers and there's like 1 comment a minute. That's like impossible.

KOF is popular in China though. There's always like 20 KOF streams for every 3 streams of SF on Douyu. Hell the Evil Ryu player that lost in top 16 started streaming KOF right after the ranking event. He was playing with one hand.

can you request a 2 button jump? I find jumping to be an awkward motion

I'd like a 2 button crouch if at all possible

I never understood vulva's anti- 2-button dash stance. Like, it's an option, you can just not use it you know lol. It's pretty stupid to be so against something that wouldn't affect you. Are you also that militant against people who use a different control/button layout than you?

Or maybe you're just kidding >_>

Congrats Karst!

Get your sleep/independent time now. Also, silent buttons.
My wife would love for me to get silent buttons anyway. She hates fightstick sounds.

Too bad Markman left Madcatz, he can't request the Silent Baby option
I rarely cried as an infant. I am hoping my son follows my footsteps...

request a stick with two additional buttons for side movement imo
I already have 2 buttons I don't use on my sticks. Unless it's Skullgirls. 2-button assist calls is too hard in such a fast-paced game.

Vulva explained before that he has a medical condition that makes him an asshole sometimes. I take it in stride.

Make a kickstarter to teach people how to play fighting games while moaning about needing an easier way to dash. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe I've never been clear on this, but I dash just fine with double tapping. I just think it isn't the best way to dash mechanically, and the superior option should be included. The various posters here that have played my Zato have witnessed me microdash 5-6 times in a row in a 2[P][K] -P- trap series without error, match after match.

If you have the game, I'll gladly show you in some matches. :)

I still appreciate his pointed posts nonetheless, they are entertaining.

also this track would fit well in Rising Thunder's soundtrack. (late to this, but a spotify subscription is the best thing I bought in years. YEARS)

What's Ledo Millenium

http://dreamcancel.com/2015/08/06/snk-playmore-acquired-by-chinese-company/

In a surprising twist, two different companies – Oriental Securities and Shun Wing 37 have developed a joint venture to invest in Ledo Millenium, a subsidiary of Leyou Technologies. Through Leyou Millenium, the newly formed joint venture will pay 63.5 million USD to acquire 81.25% of SNK Playmore’s shares directly from former SNK CEO Eikichi Kawasaki and wife Natsuyo Kawasaki. The shares will give them majority control of the SNK Playmore. The acquisition puts SNK Playmore a valuation at 78 million USD.

Oriental Securities will be the majority shareholder of the joint venture with 80% of the shares. The CEO of Oriental Securities, Zheng Jianhui commented that the main reason for their acquisition of SNK Playmore is their vast number of game IPs and the all the tie-ins the characters are involved in. In particular, he mentioned that going forward they aim to follow the “Marvel formula”, where the Marvel Universe has branched off into different spaces including comics, games, television, and movies to form a complete and synergistic IP profile. He is also looking forward to collaborations with other Chinese companies to develop games, anime, manga, televisions, and movies in order to fully develop SNK’s intellectual property.

That's different then lol. Still kinda funny though.

And I'll have the game soon so that'd be cool.

if this new company brings us a good new KOF game, then i'm down. if we end up with another KOF2001, then i'mma be salty
unless they redeem themselves with a KOF2002
the fuck is a microdash

is that just crouch canceling?
It's some horrible term the anime community uses for when do a tiny dash input into something. Fun fact, you can actually buffer 66 on wake up in Persona then input DP. You get the microdash to scoot you forward and it doesn't actually have any frames to it, you still get frame one DP and blow through meaties.

It makes sense in the context of something unique like that existing, but people just use microdash for any time you do a 66 input that you end up cutting short. All it's supposed to do is scoot you forward a bit while inputting something else.

Think it's just inputting 66 and hitting a button immediately to get the momentum from the dash on that button. Might be wrong it's anime speak.

Edit: nm Anne got you covered
