And you know what? I'll be real honest and tell you exactly what would've happened if I had been contacted. I would've stopped the match, asked Shinblade to calm down, and asked the players involved how they felt and wanted to deal with it. Afterwards I'd probably ask Shinblade to tone down the aggression and then let whatever else rock, or DQ him if the other players felt that needed to happen.

what should've happened that sadly didn't.

I remember someone popped off against me and I got pretty scared. Dude got in my face and all I wanted to do was play fighting games/get my ass kicked lol.

But you know, I just hate evrything and I eat players who pop off cause lol sensitive SJW.

The reason I take this so seriously is it didn't happen and it negatively affected a lot of people.

The thing is, you'd get conflicting opinions: most folks would say let it rock, and might get on you for it, others would say it shouldn't keep happening.

It really is just some folks who aren't ok with extreme targeted in-your-face popoffs. What I'm saying is that it's possible to pop-off and show emotion, and not make it about belitting the other guy.

Something like what Viscant did to LTG, when folks know what is going on is one thing, this is a different case (from what I've seen and heard of it).

Meanwhile, here's some cool Cyberbots pixel art here.

Yeah, but do you see pop offs in individual sports like that, outside of combat sports?
There's a reason you don't- those folks have a culture that keeps it in check.
You don't see them scream in someone's face as part of the pop off. It's not the popping off that folks are complaining about, it's the directed nature of it. Joy is fine. In your face taunting isn't.

It's taunting, even in team sports that carries consequences.
A bit lttp but I wouldn't miss a chance to post this gif ;)

But it didn't. Pretty much everyone around him is laughing about it. Even his next opponent was laughing and "slammed the chair" right after he did it, while his boy rubbed his shoulders like he was about to get into the boxing ring. You can't look at this shit in such a negative way, because that's not the reality that's being shown in videos and stream archives.

I preferred the Wiz Khalifa track
That was pretty good. I just like the beat more than the lyrics tbh.
Yeah, the music was dope. I really hope that it's emblematic of the game's OST and not just trailer music, because it'd definitely be an improvement from the subtle and crepuscular ambiance they typically shoot for that works, but is kinda forgettable.
A man can dream. I know some people like some of the music in earlier games, but for me the only memorable MK music isn't even in the games, but the movies lol.

Also, I wish I had an excuse to post this in every thread:

gawd damn

Looking at the video again.. what was she even trying to accomplish?

Was she trying to push Shin off the chair? Hit him with a german suplex?

Annel you gotta tell me what was running through her head at that moment, pls.

Just so nobody misses it: the girl who grabbed Shinblade definitely was in the wrong. Removing her from the venue was the right course of action, though ideally it would have been prevented somehow.

With that out of the way, I'll be honest: anyone who knows GG would see how that match ended and it was pretty lame, there were a bunch of drops and sloppy play. The team wasn't even out yet, Shinblade still had to play others.. >_>

Popping off is fine, but I think you should use some freaking common sense. That level of pop-off for a sloppy win on a Axl player just tells me you feel some kind of way against the person you beat, it was a little too emotionally charged for it to be related to the match. I can do without that kind of shit.

I totally welcome more Justin Wong jumping and falling down and doing Ganryu rolls though.

Supposedly she was trying to forcefully put him in his seat (just as he seemed to be starting to sit down anyway) and ended up ripping his shirt in the process.

idk, some people just take that shit too far. I understand if you are like friends or know each other then hey you might feel like popping off. but if it's someone you don't know, I don't understand why would you want to pop off to that person and get in their face...

Yeah, I know. I talked to them after. They said they were just going to go along with it. The 3rd player(Axl) wasn't wanting to talk much about it, didn't feel great. plus their friends next to them were getting blown up by Shinblade too. Again, I talked to people involved. I was there. I know what happened. I had to calm down people on both sides, I had to remove somebody from the event. There are multiple people involved that you /don't even see/ that I had to also deal with.

And I'm pushing blame on both parties. Deal with it, I feel they both fucked up.

were they upset about the pop off or more upset about the fact shinblade looked like he was gonna stomp the girl when she physically manhandled him?

cause i'm thinking the people in her corner might have been more irked than they normally would have been, understandably, given the situation that COULD HAVE happened.

but whatever, now you know for next time. either hand out cards, or start putting up NFL like celebration rules. and one step closer to ESPORTS!

A bit of both from what I gathered. It doesn't help Shinblade has been really aggressive towards a lot of people before and almost gotten into worse shit.

And I put up a rule the next morning before GG started, if you go too hard you'll just get DQed for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Pretty easy solution to this: remove anime from all majors, minors, regionals, locals, and online events. Considering how ass Xrd's online play is, ASW already took care of that last part.

She was over come by the Saltsui No Hado and tried to raging demon poor ShinBlade. Thank god he made it out with his soul.
First raging demon i've seen that wasn't throw invincible

or replace all anime games with Budokai 3

The MKX trailer was hype. Cool editing.

This is totally not going WSH... right guys?

While this correct, I do think that fighting games might have to learn a new way to teach people. I never play MOBAs, how are you taught the basics in those? They seem really popular and people are more than willing to learn how to play
The tutorials in MOBAs are pretty awful to be honest not much better than FG tutorials available in games like SG, KI and GG.

Difference between MOBAs and FGs is a matter of execution at a basic level. Nothing in a MOBA is hard at a basic level, it's just point and click which people have been doing for years with the occasional press button and click. It's all much easier than doing Fireball or SRK motions or doing various combos in FGs. People see a few combo trials in fighting games, can't do them after a few tries and give up.

MOBAs are difficult mostly because of the intrinsic knowledge required which most players feel like they can overcome. When someone goes into SF4 and can't do 1 frame links in the trials they will go back to MOBAs or shooters.

Not saying these games don't have high demanding stuff at the high level but at the base level it's easy to control and do cool things for your character. Press R and click a point... not DP + button, two buttons + double tap forward, double QCF + three buttons in quick succession.

*Rolling eyes*

Now he has a history of being aggressive?

What about this women that assaulted this man? Do you want to tell us a history of her "aggression". Oh that must of slipped your mind.

Actually she doesn't have a history of starting anything at events as far as I know. Most everybody was shocked when this happened, but when I said Shinblade they were like "Oh well yeah that was going to happen eventually"

I mean like I said I was told not to go too far into it but fuck it I mean I actually don't care. I obv don't need to run tournaments or be involved.

Here it is in the stream vod.

http://www.twitch.tv/funkyp/v/3674723?t=9h25m30s

Damn, that chick was random as fuck. You can even see the other competitor that sat down have a joke and smiling about it.

Honestly, I hope she was banned at least for putting hands on another player. I don't care if you a chick or dude putting hands on another person in tournament over a pop off is not cool.

duuuddeeee. dont care what happened....no reason to manhandle someone like that.....

Considering how ass Xrd's online play is, ASW already took care of that last part.

I'm from Michigan and I'm consistently getting 1-3 frame lag with the majority of east coast and even WC or Texas players I get around 3-4. Anything above 3 is annoying as hell but it definitely feels playable.

If anything it's been the best effort ASW has ever put into online play.

Even though I don't really do it much myself, I'm cool with pop-offs as long as they don't get too personal. I was at the event too (It's one of my friends that recorded the video), and it honestly wasn't that bad until the girl started putting her hands on him, which was hella weird. Glad she was removed from the venue. Even though Shinblade could have been a bit more respectful in his word choice, it was good that he didn't lash back at her.

We should just let it go. I obviously have an issue with AnneIFrank's attitude about this, but at the same time, it's getting too heated and drawn out. That said, I would not be against a title referencing this drama lol.

Xrd online isn't bad post-patch (which was by the time I first started playing it). The tech is arguably bad, but it's definitely playable on a good connection.
