Fighting Games Weekly | Jan 13-19 | Handsome fighters never lose majors

Biggest disappointment for me this gen is probably Dragon Age 2. It's not like it was that bad of a game but coming from origins it was just... yeah. DA3 looks much better though.

Also I finally got into hearthstone. Took fucking forever.

oh look the money match moves to Brawl, how excitzzzz

I actually didn't know there were people out there that legitimately liked brawl. I always assumed that the people who did play it did it out of obligation/denial and spent the whole time being regretful and ashamed, as if they were some hentai anime schoolgirl getting molested by nintendo on the train.

I guess you learn something new everyday.

Why the fuck do people treat cross over games like congress

Shit is the worse. Crossover game discussion is toxic with fanboyism until a month or two after its release. How the fuck is that Smash thread in its four or five iteration? I can only imagine its mostly people masturbating to pictures of Rosalina.

You guys wrote a 100 page fanfic about a Marvel patch.

uh let's check in-
*checks*

oh wow Sakurai pls, wtf is that

and I think a lot of Brawl people miss the fact that had it came with Melee physics, everyone would have moved over except Roy/Mewtwo holdouts

Despite getting some enjoyment out of SS (although it was really flawed), I want to do another playthrough rather soon again to see how I feel.
I still haven't had the urge to do that with TP yet for some odd reason.
But when I do, it'll be on GC this time

Yup, I went back for TP because I wanted to play the GC version. I liked it more the second time around on the Gamecube, but it's still not a great game.

Skyward Sword, on the other hand... I think I might go back and play with Ocarina codes so I can get faster text, no Fi, and some other stuff that quickens the pace of that game. Just thinking of going back and replaying that entire game seems unbearable.

The GAF Smash 4 threads are about 1000x more civil (and sane) than any other Smash 4 threads on the internet. I can assure you.

fuckin' called it, man

I think they're on complaining that the daily picture doesn't reveal their favorite obscure character for the game.

Um, Riposte didn't even participate in the theory patch...how is this an even half-intelligent slam against him? Everyone who did participate in it knows exactly what it was, so it is not a slam on is either... Maybe some of the thread regulars are just having OBS withdrawal? Desperate for drama and conflict where there is none?

Let everyone have their fun, its not like we're condemning anyone, just pointing out an observation to a select community.

What is the observation? It doesn't make sense. Usually I just watch everyone drool on each other with excitement, but I really am confused and want to understand how it makes any sense as a slam on anyone.

Wow, I think we found a new FGW thread title.
Why would you make it the thread title like...a month after we finished? We would have loved the community acknowledgement at the time, even with a title like that. It is a good one - I take no offense, since it is accurate. Plus, Apex is this weekend, and I am sure there will be some new pseudodrama for everyone here to latch on to.

I love the dedication and discussions that went into the Marvel patch notes. Talking about a community getting together and devote themselves to their favorite game

not really a fanfic, it was about taking a chance with the slim hope that the Marvel patch would happen. There were no illusions on anyone's part. And people moved on once it became clear (again) that no more work would be done on Marvel

I feel like we should acknowledge the work that went into the patch notes rather than ridiculing it as "fanfic"

No one actually thought of it as a fanfic, but in a sense thats what it is. The way cosmo used it as a retort to the bashing of the smash topic was fantastic and thinking about the recent problems with marvel games makes it even better. It was just a funny quip, no need to get defensive about it guys.

Oops, true. Thread titles are great because they are a kinda of highlights of either players or events. I thought it would be a great silly title and to be honest, I enjoyed the reading the notes. I didn't think of it as a sick burn as much as a great thread title.

I don't care if it gets called fan fiction. It technically fits. Earlier in the Marvel thread today, we were all talking about how much we enjoyed making it. I'm not bothered if folks think it was a waste of time. It was a hobby activity, like playing video games. I don't regret it.

Now, the comment was still dumb, because Riposte wasn't a part of the theory patch discussion. That was the only point I was trying to make. You might as well rag on Markman for being a Tekken hater and then post "OMG on blast" gifs, because it makes just as much sense.

He wasn't a part of the discussion, either. He isn't burned, he is just trying to be nice.
