Pick a specific game->Game specific IRCs/chats->Search out tournament player friends for personal help->forums/online guides->official printed guides

What you should do from left to right. If you don't have friends who actually compete you can use the internet to learn from them there. In my experience you'll have an easier time looking for them in game specific chats/online programs like GGPO or skype and these are some of the very same people who write the most in depth online guides to boot.

Thanks. Seems like a long process but I think I can manage.

All of everyone's sources are outdated.

It's a huge shame. How am I supposed to improve like this? Things were much better a few years ago.

Like that quote that people like to state of Miyamoto where he says that a bad game is bad forever... that thing really doesn't hold true anymore.

If it's bad enough at the start it doesn't matter. Some games can get away with it but others can't. And in some cases they're never fixed.

Happened with Diablo 3 and is probably going to happen with Destiny as well.

Some people claim that Driveclub is a much better than it first released but I haven't played it to comment on it.

Well it will obviously happen with Destiny but it's going to be done on the back of another $60 release. Not to mention that Destiny at it's core is still a great game, it's just lacking in features and content. I would hardly say this is a radical notion.

Personally I've always used gameplay videos to learn. Yes, I've had to look up Japanese play of games that haven't been released in America on console yet, but it gives me the best idea of how to play a solid game.

It also is fun to watch top ranked Japanese players get blown up by tactics that American twitter users heavily criticize their communities for failing to handle.

Diablo 3 and Destiny were profitable from day 1 though, fixing them to keep them active is the right business decision. FF14 bombed hard compared to SE's expectation especially with subscription numbers after the first month, not to mention the scale of the change the game went through, they basically rebooted an AAA project.

Didn't play DC, but wasn't most of the game problems on release is broken online/bad netcode? Which is what got fixed. a lot of people were praising the core gameplay from day one, which didn't change much as far as I know. Other than that is was mostly post release support and adding content.

Clan obligations entail keeping that prefix up high on the leaderboards. So it actually makes sense he's a rage quitter. I don't think anyone is getting any money matches from him.

I get to use a non-shit PC for a little while and would like to play people on here in some USF4 and Skullgirls before I'm forced back to my StrugglePC. I'll be on later tonight if anyone wants to play one of those.
