SF4 players are the weirdest asking for faster than arcade on inputs.

All the extra SP content in SG 2nd Encore is PS4 only. Gameplay and roster will be the same on all platforms. PS3 wont get the extra SP stuff, PC tbd. Sony platforms can all fight each other.

ANBU_BIRDMAN IS A FUCKING FRAUD

Shit I missed the stream, counter hits for days? When I played him I noticed he was mashing electricity during blockstrings, almost got a perfect on counter hit confirms alone.

I can confirm that PSN is fray

For the most part, yeah. Now that its mostly fixed hopefully more people will begin to hop over, I got bopped by onlinetony earlier, fuckin seth man...

I've seen people posting around a few times that arcade's input lag = PS3. I've never seen this confirmed anywhere outside of a flawed rough test done by some guy on SRK using the arcade PC emulator which in fact behaves like a regular PC game and it's input lag would therefore be affected by your personal v-sync configurations. Only thing I've seen is Mago saying that the PC version "feels like arcade" but PC input lag is variable so...

Got back from the weekly. Dat KOF. Need to do something about getting wrecked to hell and back in GG though.

played about an hour of kof yesterday. damn that game is so good, too bad I still dont like the input buffer. Wasn't getting random fireball supers anymore but was actually landing in jump in combos lol

2002UM has a much stricter input buffer FWIW. Landing jumpins can also be really tough, getting jumpins to connect in 13 feels utterly free and the most lenient thing in the world after grinding Nameless' hop.D, cl.C link.

Hi. I've played on Arcade, PS3, and 360 pretty extensively and I'm aware of how they all perform. 360 is about a frame or two faster than arcade, with PS3 being a frame or two slower. At our arcade people would not play on the AE cab at some points because their combos would be off moving to 360 for tournaments, it's a pretty real difference.

With PCs and Nesica being a thing for Ultra, the environments change a bit. Nesica cabs come in different forms, with people even going so far as t o say, "Don't play on this color cab, it's made cheaper and has more lag than others." On PC, various set ups involving V-Sync and such probably add a frame or two which makes it feel similar to where arcade is at in a lot of cases, especially considering Nesica cabs are just PCs now.

I don't have any hard numbers personally, but all my experience kind of leads to this, and it's been agreed upon in various tests and by many other players, so I find it to be somewhat accurate.

where'd you see that. also you going to badc? I probably wont be there this week

wish I could be at A&C every week. very jealous of yall.

Same here man. I'm only going today to pick up my FE which got fixed/modded. I live way too far away to come to A&C often, if at all. Especially when the Heroes World locals are within walking distance for me.

Is it so weird? How many players outside of Japan play regularly on arcade? It might as well not exist.

Arcade is the control. Ports are duplicates and you want the game to be as close to the arc version as possible. I find it weird in the preferring the replica over the original sense.

Okay I gotta say that after playing Splatoon today I will be sooooooooo distracted from fighters. This thing is golden. Best multiplayer I've had in a long while :)

Last night though I got that dirtcheap copy of Persona Ultimax from the Gamefly sale. Its got some serious mechanic bloat, but once you get it theres a lot there to enjoy in spite of how much there is to get the hang of.
  • LH regular attacks and LH persona attacks. You run out of Persona attacks if you get hit while using them because every time you are hit you lose a card and once out of cards you can't use Persona (stands lol) till they recharge
  • Sweeps are universal with down + 2 atks (regular...not persona attacks)
  • auto combos by mashing L atk. You can stop at any point but if you see it through till the end the last hits cost meter and are bigger. Neat stringing these together into other stuff with personas
  • negative penalty of taking extra damage if you play too defensively
  • Essentially has magic series with LM L(persona)
  • A slow start up attack that cannot be blocked low called "all out attack" done by hitting LH regular attacks simultaneously.
  • HP consuming invincible attacks performed by hitting both H atk and H persona attack simultaneously. Health recovers from this over time.
  • Bursts to blow back opponents. If your gauge is full this will also fill your meter and your Persona cards back up. Takes awhile to fill the burst meter though.
  • Hit forward during blocking +both regular attacks to guard cancel into an attack at the cost of meter. This I find pretty neat and enjoy a lot.
  • A universal throw/low invulnerable hop done by hitting down plus both L attacks
  • Dodges that move you forward
  • a universal cancel that costs meter doable mid attack by hitting 3 buttons (macroed)
  • another cancel thats universal thats doable mid attack that knocks opponents into the air for juggles done by hitting 3 buttons (also macroed)

There are some other things I've heard of where you can change the way you face in midair to get crossups and skills done by holding L then releasing when it highlights the skill you want to use and also status effects that do stuff like drain meter, lockout personas, reverse controls and stun.

This is probably what I would consider the end game of too many mechanics in a fighter lol. This one...yeah go ahead and hit it. Its way too much. Its also very loud in stage colors making it distracting and it has an announcer that you need to turn off that tries to call the match and talks at the same time as your characters as they fight which is just a cacophony of sound.

On the positive though this game is FAST, easy to combo, and has lots of back and forth. I don't really dig folks "awakening" near the end and getting faster, more defensive and having bigger meters, but it is what it is...something that ONLY appears when you are highly fucked so at least it can't be used for anything but comebacks.

I like some of its stuff though. Its legit fun and I like the stuff Aigis and Yukari can do with their projectiles. Especially the Yukari stuff where she places her Persona on screen and any projectile fired at it will change directions allowing her to set up Dr. Strange stuff pretty easily given how many arrows she spread shots at a time and how her H is a fast projectile unto itself.

Kind of weird, but fun. If you got the pocket change I say pick it up, poke around, and see what all they put in it to get a feel for things to talk about that are unique and tricky to do to folks. Its got some really good tools on these movesets.

Does SoCal (mainly the Valley) have much of a fighting game scene? Ever since Super Arcade shut down I haven't known of any spots that host weekly tournaments and whatnot.

Ultimate Gaming Center (UGC) is located in Panorama City and has tournaments every week for Smash, Ultra, and MKX. They also regularly have tournaments for Skullgirls, anime games, and old man games like marvel 2/cvs2. A decent number of people that went to Super for WNF go to UGC for the weeklies like snakeeyes, Brent, Gootecks.

Twin Galaxies live is also in the Valley in North Hollywood and they regularly have a Street Fighter night on Sundays I believe. Some high profile players occasionally go there.

Some people have gaming nights at their home arcades located in their garage. Don't know how open those are to new people.

I think there are weeklies around the Irvine area as well.

PS4 versions has 2f of input lag now, one frame worse than 360, 2 frames better than PS3

The difference between 360 and PS3 is 1~2 frames and PS3's supposed to be the same as the arcade version. What you're saying is that the difference between 360 and PS3 is 3 frames, which is not true.

As somebody has elsensaid, the only arcade numbers we have is through an emulator.

Splatoon is gold. Best spin on a shooter in forever, and of course it's Nintendo that nails it.

I would love to see competitive Splatoon at high level on Twitch.

I saw a stream of splatoon and I thought they were playing some side minigame mode but it turns out that's the whole game

What mode? There's a single player campaign mode to find the Zap fish where you battle platform against the Octarian enemy, a mode where you stand on a tower and steer it towards a goal and try not to get killed on top of it before the enemy offs you and steers it the other way, a balloon burst mode, and turf wars...

There's a lot goin' on in Splatoon. Plus you have a TON of gear to go for that changes your stats on stuff like ink cost, run speed and more and you can mess with sub weapons and such too in order to get a load out of main weapon, sub weapon and final weapon to use once you fill a meter via inking stuff.

Action squidipus is more than meets the eye.

I know, hence the italics. My point still stands, hopefully we'll get more updates about the state of PS4 USF4.

Sorry! I misread! It's

5.1f - 360
6.4f - PS3/(best guess as arcade)
7.2f PS4

PC is probably the same as arcade as well due to V-Sync and the native set up. It's worth noting that PS3 is somewhere like a frame and a half behind instead of just one frame solid.

I got Ultra on PC. I thought this thing ran on a toaster, lol.

I have a i5-3470 3.2 with 8 gigs ram and geforce gt 620/4 gigs. Is that crappy? Im not a pc person.

The game chugs and there is frame drops and slowdown a good amount of time , and i turned everything down.

What res you trying to run at? That gpu is rough and it does not have 4 gigs of vram lol. A 9600 GS is better than that, and thats ancient. What grade you get on the benchmark?

Turf war is what I play the most. Its just addictive. You can get caught up in defending an area and realize that it was all a ploy to make you stop pushing forward. You'll look and the map will show the enemy coloring in the territory behind you pulling ahead. You can't stay and snipe all day.

I've seen things turn into a free for all with rollers vs guns in an open area and just halled ass outta there to cinch a victory by as little as .7% by just laying trails, swimming and popping up to lay more trails trying to cover as much ground as I could. Other times I've won by climbing up top and trying to bottleneck an entrance...then other times folks will mass charge that entrance in hopes of one getting past, making it far, and then rocket jumping to his spot beyond me as soon as he is out of range.

Game is nuts, super fast, you can move sooooo much, and it always feels fair. I dig the whole stage thing too where after so long the stages rotate and you play different places.

Splatoon is great and I would love to see folks team up, stream and go full twitch competitive with it. Tactics get pretty crazy and pop up out of nowhere...I once fought a team of 3 rollers and a single sniper. It was hell on earth...

I want to see high level Splatoon too but in classic Nintendo fashion pre-made team battles aren't being added until August. None of the popular Twitch streamers for the game I've watched so far are any good at the game, hopefully over time the better players will be discovered.

Explain...so far all I feel is the awesome and I generally hate all multiplayer shooters.
Being unable to back out of lobbies. Being unable to mess with loadouts in lobbies. Being unable to party up. Being required to use the gamepad. Launching with half the maps, most game modes, and some weapons locked on disc to be drip fed over the summer.

And being unable to filter your games by region, the map rotations, no stat keeping, no spectator mode...

It's not about what's arcade accurate, all the versions play exactly the same. It's not an SF3/CvS2 situation where every version have different "gameplay" differences or run at different speeds. 360 version isn't faster, it has 1 less frame of input delay, choosing the version with the least input delay is the right choice considering everything else is exactly the same.

Ahh.. I see then. That I understand. Nothing really against the gameplay, just its current setup for its content.

Not enough to make it a terrible game though at all. Its super fun and I'm glad im in, but I feel ya on those things though the weapon content doesn't bother me. I enjoy continuing content. I got well over half a year out of Hyrule Warriors just on them adding more stuff to it as it went on. I don't really mind setting up a game to be content driven over time like that. Just a preference thing.

I'd be shocked if Inklings don't take the Smash Ballot for the next add on character in Sm4sh though. Only contender I feel could take em is folks voting in Ridley en masse.
