It's a break down of all that he observed basically. He mentions at the bottom that the level of the players is quite wide but that the top US players would be top class in Japan too.

At a NYU talk a while ago about women in competitive gaming, one of the panelists brought up how she's not against women only tournaments as a means to encourage more women to come out and play in a competitive environment while still being a "safe" place. And also how it's a good way find friends of the same gender who enjoy the same games you do as well as for networking purposes. She brought up how people tend to put a lot of expectations on an unknown girl who shows up to a tournament, especially if she ends up playing on stream, and don't let her be just another pot monster like most of the other guys who show.
She made it clear, however, that this shouldn't come at the detriment of women being able to participate in regular tournaments though.
It was a different way of looking at women only tournaments that I hadn't heard or thought of before. I think a recording of it was uploaded online eventually. I'll see if I can't find it when I get home later.

I'm LTTP on this one, but I'm just seeing the gender separation stuff. Screw eSports and screw the idea that the FGC is the dirtier, misogynistic cousin of eSports. That would never happen at a major FGC event.
The entire reason gender separate categories exist in athletic sporting events is to ENSURE that there's a stage for women to play. In a lot of sports, women can not compete with men on a physical level. The Canadian Women's OIympic Hockey team is the best women's hockey team in the world, bar none, and when they play men, they play Bantam AAA (the top-14-16 year old boys league) because that's where they found some degree of physical parity.
It should be the most obvious thing in the world that sliding cards around in fucking Hearthstone has no physical barrier.
His previous tweet was about the Vita version of UMVC3 being on sale and being delisted.
I think he means a salable product.

Louffy loves money matches, and they're always hype when he's playing. The one vs Mago at Dreamhack Winter 2013 was amazing.
In all fairness, this would never happen (and to my knowledge never has) at any legit esports event either. This is solely a thing IeSF is doing.
