Madcatz sticks are great but the pads (at least the SFxT ones) still leave something to be desired as a pad player.

Before I bought my stick I bought one of the original SF IV pads which broke down after a few weeks. Still, it breaking down encouraged me to buy a stick so I guess it wasn't all bad. It was the cheap stick though so I had to replace all the parts within it.

OH MY GOD, IT WAS THE SAME FOR ME! I got a blue see-through mini-gamecube controller. The A button got banged up after a while but man, the memories. Got it at Blockbluster too! Remember when that was a thing?

Was it like this one?

God this brings back so much memories of Soul Calibur 2... Can't believe I found a picture of this thing.

When the first TE sticks came out, I didn't know Madcatz were the same company who made ok third party controllers and memory cards. I have two madcatz fightpads for both systems. It still needs improvement, but they are the only one that didn't break on me yet.

Yep this is how I first saw him back in evo 2010 and onwards

whoa.... Meh... Idk, he dons't really rock a beanie well.

It was clearly Marvel, but I think he was just hopeful, not making a declaration.

This was my take on that conversation when it happened:

Yipes: "I love the fact that in Ultra, you kinda stop the one player game, but we can't do it here."

Obviously, Yipes meant "we" = Marvel players.

Combofiend may have heard it as: "I love the fact that in Ultra, you (Capcom) kinda stop the one player game, but we (the public) can't do it here (at a tournament)."

So Combofiend replied, "Not yet." (Ultra isn't out yet)

Wow, that's exactly it. I don't know how you did it but you did it.

I have that one too, but mine still works well surprisingly.

Its a soldier then.

Madcatz, never go back to transparent shells plz

.

Niitsuma should have just said nothing. Look at the storm it brewed.

I always figured Combofiend was talking about Street Fighter when he said that.

Makes so much sense right now. I still love the fact Maximillian did a video on it with a scene from Dumb and Dumber.

Damn, here I thought Viscant was sarcastic, but not a sarcastic arse... What did he say exactly?

Your still alive after Vegas Heretic? Guess the asian man has some energy in him!

No I've been back. I just too lazy to catch up on all the FGC news. You miss one day it's like you miss a year worth of drama.

I'm having Vegas withdrawals though. That last trip i outdone my last 5 trips combined!

I remember when the TE first came out, it was funny watching the reaction. Sticks were basically as complicated as this: if they have sanwa or seimitsu they're awesome, and if they're built in a way that makes it easy to put those parts in there, then those are slightly less awesome but still awesome. So Madcatz released both kinds of sticks and it was just going to be cool. But it was funny to see the reaction from people who were convinced they'd suck just because of the Madcatz reputation at the time. It's like, do you really think they're going to fuck up a case and some wiring to house sanwa stuff? Even if the wiring turned out bad that would be easy to fix anyway with all the solderless pcbs that started showing up. So basically, do you trust them to make a box? Even if they weren't successful they still would've been worth getting, when the alternative was to build one or wait for Hori to become available somewhere.

EVO 2015 baby. We gotta rock it hard that year!
If you're going that year, you are right? Right...? ;_;

The breakdown of a fightstick... Amazing in all honesty. So I'm willing to play +100 bucks for a plastic/carbon fiber box? What have I done with me life...

Depends on the date. But yes I really want to try. I was on some wolf of wall street style craziness that last trip.

Mad Catz had a decade+ reputation of making flimsy products. It's awesome that they've turned that around, but people's reaction was completely understandable at the time.
