Fighting Games Weekly | June 30 - July 6 | Judge, Juri & EGsecutioner

Are there any issues with the PS3 TE stick on the PC? Thinking of grabbing Ultra on PC since PSN is just garbage now.

Certain chipsets have trouble picking it up. For example, it only works on one of the USB ports on my computer (but it does work).

Worst case, you'll need a new usb board, but other than that should be right to go.

So if it picks it up then it's all good? Just want to test before I drop the $40.

The mod is based of ken, it also goes over evil ryu.

Represented in the examples at the bottom .

Oh, I see now. They look almost identical with that mod, except for the red glow. A mod with Ryu would probably make him almost indistinguishable from the Ken mod.

It's crazy how fast the #1 ranked online Dudley transitioned to the next upcoming top tournament player.

That's what happens when you got dedication and a scene to train in.

Guess I'll be watching WNF for once, nice cross promotional stuff.

what are the sf mod forums?

This is a good thread on shoryuken

One of the guys their runs a site called aemods, which has all the mods on it

Its also good because capcom released an update that fucked with a shit ton of mods, making their textures not show up so some mods you gotta mess with around with to work. I mean the mods with stuff added to the models. Colors are fine for the most part, stage mods are completely broke though, I mean you could fix it but thats entirely to much work

Some of the guys there are remaking stuff though

Yeah people can just look at it and say it's just a box with parts. But it was more than just that. Do you realize the amount of new/and interesting innovation we (Mad Catz) brought to the table that has ended up becoming a standard and having other companies reference it into their designs?

I like what we did, I think it's great. But you know what's even better? Making Hori step their shit up.

That's what I'm proud of. People knock on us for doing the same style stick multiple times in a small 3 year period. But what about the other guys who have been using the same style/design for 5+ years?

^.^

Yeah there's definitely more to it than just a box. At the time though thats how I looked at it, and thought it would be basically impossible to stuff up compared to what else was available, which was waiting for a small run of HRAPs to be released and hoping you got one. Now I care more about what systems the stick works on, start button placement, 7th and 8th button placement, how easy it is to open the case, and a number of other things that have been improved over time.

If there is it won't have Justin Wong on it

BOO! Yipes know his boy Justin is gonna take that free money.

oh shit, smug is going to wnf next week

Smug going to the next 2 WNF.

Smug is gonna be at WNF next week
Edit: lol we are all excited

The hype is real.

Alright who wants to make some EVO prop bets?

I won't bet money but I will say that neither Chris G or F. Champ will make it to top 8 for Marvel. We will have a fresh batch of players!
I'm looking at you Dahbomb, not even Justin Wong will make it, there are gonna be killers everywhere.

You're sure about that? I can't bet (even metaphorically) against Chris G.

It's one thing to say either ChrisG or FChamp might not make it but BOTH of them not making top 8?

Yeah I will definitely wager money on that shit... absolutely free.

This is how people get poor. Making bad bets. It'd be crazy if it happened but come on.

Yep

Sometimes You that mod and be like

I guess this is the character I am using today

To be honest, these would've been perfect alts for Cody and Guy (Zangief's alt 1 or something is a Haggar reference which is cool)

The thing is, I know there were a lot of different concept artists working on the alts so it seems like they preferred costumes with the artist's design in mind rather than canonical ones or references. I think that's why there's a lot of inconsistent themes among most of everyone's costumes that they don't really relate to.

I can see that, there are plenty of costumes I do feel like are consinsitant. However then you look at like some of the more experimental ones, like ones why? Like cowboy ken

I wonder who was responsible for making the alt that only added hair for Sagat.

I actually think that could be a reference to Gem Fighter, there's an attack where Ken turns into a cowboy on a horse and the horse kicks the opponent. There's other cool and obvious ones like Chun-Li's Alpha jumpsuit, Makoto/Ibuki/Elena have their uniforms from cutscenes and comics, Guile's Charlie vest, etc. but yeah, trying to explain all the other alts... I have no idea.

I can understand some of them, like hakan's number 1 is a bit odd.

But there are plenty of good ones, I think they got bisons right and balrog and vega, sagats are cool too. Yun and Yangs are good, ryu's are good too.

Although I saw some art online that suggested that ryu was going to have a rival schools kinda alt, and I would have payed out the bum for that.'

Edit: On elena, not a fan of that one that guy made for them. Jungle shit doe, really?

When I see those costumes is see wasted opportunity from Capcom. Put that stuff up to community vote and tie them to achievements or as a purchasable costume pack with most of the money going to the creator and the other to fund the Capcom cup.

As a counter-point, how many companies that aren't Valve do this? It may be incredibly smart, but how many communities can actually sustain something like that? Would -- or could -- Street Fighter be big enough? I don't think it is not, but there's a non-zero chance that it could (hell, the genre is still seeing growth as it is, even given all of the intrinsic things against it) but I think it's close enough that it would be a very interesting experiment.

That and that sort of open, collaborative development process is the exact opposite of how must Japanese developers operate, so it'll happen in roughly two thousand never.

So, I paired a ds4 to my ps3 as a Blutooth device. And the diagonals on the d-pad don't work (analog works fine) in ultra sf, lol. Makes me sad, I have to stay close and wired still.

P.S After many encounters with Vegas I have came to the conclusion that there only one thing I've learn about Vegas. GIVE ME BOTTLE SERVICE OR GIVE ME DEATH!
I'm the exact opposite -- I can't understand why anyone, even with gajillions of dollars would ever use bottle service. If you're balling so hard that the money is nothing, just buy some help to get your own booze, hookers and blow.
