ZzZZzZz. Troll elsewhere.Yeah, I can agree with you here that Marvel's an awful game which encourages even worse actions beyond just playing the game. Truly a lowpoint in the modern fighting game renaissance.
Sorry Q, I won't be able to help you at all, our(my wife's and mine) credit cards got cloned this morning and all our savings(not that much) + this month's two week payment(it's 15) are gone. We were all day calling the bank and at the police station and seems like we're not getting anything back
On topic: maybe someone can link me to today's VODs to watch momochi beat everyone else?
Almost all credit cards offer 0% liability so you should get ALL your money back.
EDIT: In the US anyway.
UMVC3 is a heck a lot more balanced than Vanilla MVC3. 90% of the changes they made to the game were for the better. This version was supposed to make stuff better than vanilla with OTG's, new cast, a few new moves, and balance changes. Seeing that they didn't balance the title at all but only made it worse (aside from the OTG , Wolverine changes, and Phoenix nerf) was crushing.

You better let FGW test it![]()
SFxT was a good game

Alright, remove the part where I implied you thought that as well.
SFxT was loads of fun to play. Marvel's a terrible game. When this thread was Marvel and Drama weekly it was almost unreadable.

Just stating games are amazing or terrible isn't really conducive to having an interesting discussion :/
And invincible assists that combo break you.
XF1 that was almost as powerful as the current XF3.
Couldn't X factor in the air so you had guaranteed chip set ups on incoming characters.
Air dash characters could block while air dashing.
RIDICULOUS meter gain (get two of your characters killed and gain 4 meters in the process)
Much larger gap in tiers.
etc etc.

1.2 MILLION METERLESS DAMAGE THAT BUILDS 6+ METERS!And Vanilla Dante™ da gawd
I want to say this looks free for team Chicago, but if it's a single game format this could go anywhere. Also, Nerd Josh must be the most predictable player in term of character choice, not even Tokido come close, lol.So just in case people were unaware, there is going to be a 5v5 Guilty Gear Xrd tournament* at Final Round on Friday. FunkyP will be streaming it, I believe.
7 of the 8 teams involved in the 5v5 have been announced. They are:
Team Chicago
Team Alabama
Team Florida
Team Georgia
Team Texas
Team Tennessee/Kentucky
Team USA**
This is kind of a low blow at MvC3 when Ultimate have tones of meterless infinites that build 5 meters and Zero.

No one has a standard combo that does that in MVC3. That's just one of the combos that Dante could pull off in Vanilla, he was easily the highest meterless damaging character in that game and in Ultimate. This is kind of a low blow at MvC3 when Ultimate have tones of meterless infinites that build 5 meters and Zero.

Edit: Iaido characters are hype as fuck, coffeeling reminded me to mention that. As are high mobility TPS characters stuck in 2D fighting game rules. Hence Elphelt

Your opinion on quick draw characters is still objectively wrong
And you still need to play Chaos Breaker and the Matrix Dwarf.
I know you elaborated on this before, but I still don't really get why they're bad. Plus the visual flair is ALWAYS appreciated.

RIP, only reason to play Modern ;_;
I look at the letter at the start of the row on a tier list.
Really, though, I tend to like characters that are a bit too good for their own good. There's just an intrinsic enjoyment to playing with a master of all type character where you can take the character wherever you want, play whatever style with the best of them and know that your losses are always your own damn fault. "My character probably wins this, just need to learn how" is a good feeling.
Balancing that kind of character well is tricky - too weak and you get SF4 Ryu, too strong and the matches turn into a farce. Properly done, they're just a little too good. Enough to annoy, but in the end leave people shrugging and saying it's not that big of a problem.
I like characters that can act at long range - whether due to mobility, projectiles or long buttons. Zoning, mixups and simple setplay are nice. Toolbox types are very appealing.
I'm a fan of closing off options more by visually distinguishable traps - ie. Zato puddle summons Eddie, does Nobiru behind you, Akuma's meaty air fireball oki etc. than OS-laden madness.
The movement has to feel good, if it doesn't there's no point.
One thing I'm not a fan of are characters that look like they're flailing around aimlessly - the more structured a character's gameplay looks and feels like, the better.
If I have the choice between playing two mechanically equally appealing characters, I'm not going to choose Lucky Chloe or a BB style character. Simple, coherent designs appeal to me. Iaido characters annoy me irrationally much, but I generally like swords.
AE2012: Akuma < movement, fireball game, button set. He's a toolbox.
Melee: Fox < movement feels way too good, hop nair/bair = <3
Brawl: MK < movement, again. Has a sword. Swords in Smash = good.
KOF13: EX Iori, Karate, Kim, Benimaru, Saiki < all have that KOF13 movement and really good buttons that enable them to claim space. Most have a projectile and air movement options
GG: Faust, Elphelt < amazing space control, good simple mixup game for Faust. Elphelt is basically a somewhat Sol-ified Faust where the RNG never screws you over with tides of candy and whose movement feels way better.
VSav: Zabel < movement, buttons. Plus he's a zombie rocker cultist with chainsaws and ribs who sold his soul to the devil for those chainsaws and ribs.
2k2UM: K'/Kasumi/Nameless < KOF movement, air options, good versatile
ST: Claw, Ryu, Sim < poke-tastic cancer with a well-rounded toolset. Sim especially has a ton of mobility options.
EDIT:
Two examples:
Pick up KOF 2002 UM.
Look at the tier list to see where to start. Watch match footage. K' looks fun - fluid, capable of playing offense and defense, is comfortable at many ranges. Seems good. Kasumi was about going to training mode and going through her moveset to see what space she controlled and where she could play footsies at - rekkas already meant she could do good damage. Nameless kind of the same, except the process is longer because he's weird. In the end end up deciding that the character feels good and controls space well, and has a Giga Drill Breaker.
Watch a wee bit of Yatagarasu, be immediately drawn to Azure's stall-and-go fireballs and ridiculous super. Look a bit more, button set seems solid. Would be the first character I'd explore in the game.
You could of just said I pick top tier.
You picked cream of the crop for every game you listed.
1) In the likely event this fighting game is based on some licensed property, is there a character I already like? (Example: Oboro in Aquapazza)Its that time again...
