Urien and Alex need to be in this game more than bacon needs to be in everything.
Yes, Urien would be great. :)

Looks like the next SFV character is someone who wasn't in IV.
According to google translate at least: Vega , it came . Now , ... next after a long time in ··· V ( oops-a-daisy . )

Maybe they'd go for one of the SF 1 characters who never made another appearance, which were Retsu, Lee, and Joe.

The Louffy vs Sat... i don't even remember his name, will not happen. Confirmed by Louffy.

Just saw this. Asked a Stunfest staff about it and they said that to be in the law Luffy and Satarouman have to do it in a Casino as it's the only place you can play for money. Basically money matchs and cash prizes are almost illegal in France outside of casinos.

Also I'm waiting to see your reactions about the next reveal. ^^

SFV art direction should've been a more drastic change.

I dunno. I think if SFV flops that's it for Capcom fighting games. So not surprising they are iterating on the style rather than going for something dramatically different.

I don't mind.

Are there any data somewhere about SFIV characters usage?

Also did someone noticed that there is stun in SF5?
We've already seen stun during the first gameplay reveal at CC finals. It was little chicks though, not stars. :D

It's generally the same art style direction, but the character themselves are re-designed and, so far, they all look much better than their SFIV version.

EVO CONFIRMED.

:WOW:

Here's hoping SFV isn't return of the shoto clone wars. Their obsession with archetype in SF4 annoyed the hell out of me.

Fingers crossed it's Urien. If not Urien, then Alex.

If not Alex...someone completely new.

If not someone completely new...then Urien. ;)

Oh that's true, the stars tricked me!

Ken, Akuma and Sakura are a must. Though I doubt they'd all make the first patch of characters. Let's hope 4 is enough for Capcom this time around.

If they completely threw out the damn basketball, and made him play more like Abel then sure I'm all for it.

As he is? Nope. Go play hoops with Mike Jordan and keep staying free like he did in Third Strike.

I'll take Oro and Q over Sean any day.

Thing is, is that it's hard to emphasize the strengths of a SF title without shotokan-style characters. This goes beyond the lore and into the base design, because it seems as though most characters are some derivation of the shoto-style. SF4 Rose, Poison, Juri, and even Cody, could have been Shotos. Fei, Yang, Yun, and Gen are Shotos w/o fireballs. Then, you have the actual Shotos, that lie on a spectrum of "Shoto-ness" from Ryu to, let's say; Oni.

I only wouldn't mind a departure from this if the game plays faster. Then, no matter how disparate the archetypes, every character has some satisfying degree of Shoto-ness. It's that Shoto-ness that makes Street Fighter fun to play for me.

This may very well be the worst thing ever written on this forum.

Give him footballs with different levels of inflation aka Tom Brady scum baggery.

Throwing basketballs against guys shooting plasma energy at you? Da fuq?

Then again the game needs a new training mode dummy and Dan probably won't make this roster so Sean's odds are higher now...

I spotted something curious that makes no sense to me.

Saw some Japanese players in SG, pings around 200-250, in KOFUM games, it's around 450-500

Is there any reason why? It's not a netcode thing, as netcode doesn't determine actual ping I think. Just makes no sense.

I uh

I can see the argument for Fei I guess (chicken wing/DP and a rekka that's basically a fireball anyway) but I think I'm missing something here.

It's about the most general associations you can make regarding the neutral game. Invincible DPs aren't a requisite, I feel. Yeah, you lose out on some formidable aspects of AAing, but characters still have attacks that can fundamentally service as AAs

Yang's low forward > Rekka is essentially cr. low forward > fireball. He can also mix things up at that range with his dive kick

Gen has cr. mp xx hands and an invincible AA. Because cr. mp is so good, you respect it just as much, if not more, than low forward. It may pester you enough to even jump into an AA.

Yun is more restricted than Yang in this case, since his Dive Kick is his main tool at that same range, but dive kicks essentially function as highly dynamic Shoto low forwards. I get calling him a "Shot without a Fireball" is generally a stretch, though.

I agree with this, but also Dan Hibiki is my main in SFIV and my favorite character.

Needless to say, I'm conflicted.

Yes please. I've always wanted to see them redesigned, they've made the other original SF1 characters like Adon, Birdie, and Gen iconic characters with their newer designs.

I would love to see old characters being redesign. Maybe Birdie, Maki, R. Mika...Doubt they would put any of them in a new game tho

What I really want is my broh Urien back, but I don't want to see Ono dressed as Urien...

If we're getting 3S characters that weren't in IV, I want Oro, Urien, and Alex. I'd rather not have Sean since he's a shoto, and I'd prefer Ryu, Akuma, and Ken fill those spots.

Tho se already have modern rendition, though. The three I mention haven't made a single appearance outside of SF 1 and are ripe for an update.

You sure about that :3

You basically described most everybody in SF4 haha. Just because they generalized a lot of toolsets in really linear ways doesn't mean everybody is a shoto.

Uhh, thanks, that was the point?

However badly articulated.

If you agree that Shotos represent SF at its nucleus, then every character in the game can be placed on a spectrum of "Shoto-ness". Some of my details may ned some work, but I don't find the premise to be outrageous at all.

what do you want? more setplay characters?
shotos are the best thing about sf4.

Cool to see I'm not the only one that feels this way.

They are expecting low sales already only 2 mil. Which is OK. But casual hate for capcom fighters is strong. I don't see it being a big hit. SfIV was a big hit due to a long absence but casual buyers now will not buy v due to no story or fear of new version announcement 6 months within release IMO. Day 0 buy for me of course.
