When it comes to Smash I have no doubt Lil' Mac is the first character I'll try to play.
I'm surprised sometimes by how old gaf members are.

i played sheik in melee and now it is time to pick her again in smash 4.
idk man, sometimes its bad. i get confused for a freshman at my university with/without beard and they are always surprised when i tell them i already graduated. im 23 btw

Some good Tizoc footage in there tho if you skip to his matches
...but yeah overall Big Bird is the weakest character in the game followed by Rock last I checked.

Don't follow SNK games much so I'm surprised Rock is bad.

Biggest Jigglypuff nerf was no more crown.
Maybe I'll try out Yoshi. I like Yoshi as a character but gosh I hated how he played in the past games.
I'm mostly saddened about the lack of headband. Still, that bow looks adorable on her.

Short version: its already a problem that people stick to games with more competition. I think we should've moved on from SF4 being the main game at major tournaments, and think there's a good chance Capcom's next fighting game won't replace SF4 as the main game. Something should've replaced it by now, and I'm having trouble seeing what could manage to do it.

SF5 will replace SF4, this isn't really hard to see I don't know why you're having problems envisioning it.

Because most people in threads like that are casuals, more than fighting game fans buy fighting games as weird as that seems.

Yup. Not sure what CPS2 was rambling on about, but its not hard to figure out Street Fighter will always be the main event.

The period where SFxT was released in 2012 and Norcal Regionals 2012, SF4 was waning. I mean, I remember Dieminion tweeting that people should not give up SF4 for SFxT because it's still a game worth playing. Heh, it's hilarious given how things have turned out. Eventually many of the people who were ready to jump ship and were sick of SF4, switched back to the new AE2012 patch. At the time people weren't sure if the new version of SF4 was going to be good or not. So SF4 continued not because of dedication or love, but more to settle with the lesser of two evils.
I guess what I'm trying to say is SF4 is no Melee. Don't worry about it.

Thing is that if it isn't combos its something tangentially different. They can't do Hadouken's. Gotta remember stuff (even for simpler 2D fighters), etc.
Most of these people just don't like fighting games and have to find something in particular for whatever reason to justify it.

They always bring up the old fighting games like street fighter 2 and older kofs as examples. Yea they didn't have very long combos but the amount of damage one can do with those short combos then cross you up to death is just as fast as those long combos they complain about.
ahh then I agree, I thought you meant more towards troll fighting.
