I agree, SFV will probably not be that different from SFIV. That's why I'm hopping the new game isn't SFV.
will probably be a new SF tho =/

What can we expect? New character?

Probably at least one new character. They have 14-ish characters left to announce over the next six months.

What might be happening is that MKX is Game Informer's featured game this month, which would imply we're also getting some new story or gameplay details on top of any potential character reveals.

So it's quan chi?

Quan Chi, to me, symbolizes the part of the series where It took a nose dive so not a huge fan of the character. Portals look fun.

The nice thing about the reboot is that they can just pull the characters that worked post-MK3 and ignore the ones who didn't. Quan is definitely one of the high points and looks fantastic here. Love the "Spot" influences.

Well this part of the year is usually pretty slow, that and the couple of events that used to happen (Canada Cup, Season's Beatings) don't happen anymore (although The Fall Classic is next weekend). Once NEC and the Evo lineup roll around business will pick up as usual.

The real slow period is after EVO into August, but there's been a ton of events since then. We just had Dreamhack, Saigon Cup, CPT Asia, TGS, WCW, GUTS, Topanga B League and Strongstyle that took place in September. TFC and Taito Arcade Nationals are next week. Canada Cup is still happening. There's also RFD, Dreamhack Winter, #37 Reloaded, MasterCup.7, CPT Asia Finals, NEC, Capcom Cup Finals, then things start right back over in 2015 with KiT, Shadowloo Showdown, Winter Brawl, Final Round, etc.

It's not a lack of events that's the problem, but people's attention is usually on certain events or just on particular games. Or maybe they're not even aware of what's going on because there's not a thread about it or somebody hyping it up. And in general, we spend more time talking about dumb shit that happens on Twitter or on other things than the events themselves. Look at the most memorable thing that happened last week is that a grown ass man getting caked in the face.

I could care less about Quan Chi, but MKX continues to look amazing. Can't wait to play it.

Not sure if someone already posted it but here's some new Guilty Gear Xrd information from a scan.

-Online training mode
-Box art revealed and Leo is on it
-Old BGM is there

Famitsu will talk about the online features and story mode in the new issue (within the next 2 days).

Yea man SF2,SF3, and SF4 are so similar right?

Makes perfect sense that 5 would be just like 4.

Would it make sense for arcsys to offer a free upgrade from the ps3 to ps4 version like with why bungie is doing with Destiny? It seems like a no brainer but since both versions are compatible with each other they certainly have a case against not doing it.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

hopefully someone has a 360 to ps4 mod stick soon!

Quan Chi looks awesome.

The fact that we're probably getting undead returning characters is neat. Not that I'm getting my hopes up for Zombie Stryker. :(

Thank GOD because I literally have not heard a single track from Xrd that I've liked. Not to say any of it's bad, but the OST doesn't get me hype. That's important for training mode grinding.

Is there a run mechanic in the new MK? If so, I'm probably gonna have to play it.

Considering that the PS3 version is cheaper it'd make zero sense to give away the PS4 version for free with it

I guess. Didn't know it was cheaper. Definitely getting the PS3 version now barring if it's poorly optimized. In that case I'll skip the game all together.

It's 10 dollars cheaper yeah.

I mean maybe they'll give a PS3 version away digitally with PS4 purchases but I don't know if that makes sense either

Yeah there's a stamina meter for run.

This drives me nuts about Xrd. The tracks aren't bad, but none of them have the impact of the previous games... They're somehow subdued and meandering by comparison, and there isn't a strong base theme to be found; just hints or nods to older ones thrown in here and there.

I feel like his work on Blazblue is somehow responsible for this. :(

I hope they don't nickle&dime the old tracks too hard.
But if they do my wallet is guaranteed free

Apparently the pachinko game had unique songs which are in the game lol

Quan Chi looks cool and I love the move designs.

I still think it looks stiff. Man, I love MK designs and the move set design, I just wish it moved better. imo of course.

worst training mode song? imo TvC or SFIV

Probably my two picks as well. Was boring grinding out links and hearing SFIV's. Not that I've played the Japanese version of TvC UAS, but I recall some weird rap lyrics in that one or something when watching videos.

Me too, even though I still think he's one of very few(or only!) post UMK3 characters that are good enough to fit right in with the classics.
