So I have a random question about fixing a figure I have...well, its base.

I like this figure, but the base is a piece of crap.
There is a metal peg coming out of her foot, just under 1cm long, that sets into the base. Problem is, the plastic that seats the peg is not very thick and at some point (probably when I was moving or maybe it got bumped and fell over) a thin piece of plastic on the base under her foot just snapped off so now one whole side of the peg is visible when trying to set her on the base, so she just slips off the base and falls over. Seriously the plastic surrounding the peg is like <2mm thick.
I think I still have the little piece in her box; do you guys think I can just try gluing it back or will it just snap off again now that the plastic's integrity is compromised? If I can't find the piece, any ideas for what I can do? Right now I'm displaying her in the corner of my detolf so she leans directly into the glass so she doesn't
look too bad, but I can't move her out of the corner.
I can get a picture when I get home from work if that would help.
