:/ so I just added up all my bricklink orders for the last 2 days and it exceeds the cost of Yamato Heavy Armaments that I just ordered the other day. Why do I have two expensive hobbies....?

Bright side is: no more bricklink orders until these orders come in as they should keep my MOC going for a while. The bad news is, I know I will need more parts....

Figures that are cast-off if you're willing to damage it. The most notable example is the 1/2 scale Sonico that is cast-off if you're willing to cut off her arms...

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would they make clothes seperate from the main figure if they weren't meant to be removed and nipples proudly displayed?

Wait, what? I thought it just meant the clothing had to be damaged and couldn't be reliably put back on... not that the figure itself had to be damaged.

It's mostly that. That bikini Sansei Muramasa only requires you to cut her clothing. That Sonico is an extreme example.

Sonico was a test to find psychopaths before they become real murderers? That's the best reasoning I could come up with for that sort of design?

I don't get it either. luckily it's not very common.

It's really weird, especially on expensive figures like that. They put in the effort to model and paint nipples but proper cast-off is too hard?

Understandable.

I'm not too familiar with the source material either, but I'm always a fan of Elf girls. (´・ω・`)

Then how do you feel about Elfbunny girls?

Easier to build and paint the pieces separately than together, likely. I've also read that sometimes the company would like to make the figure a cast-off, but then the license holder goes "nope" and forces them to close up the cast-off feature.

So, my girlfriend ordered this off eBay: http://myfigurecollection.net/picture/124369&ref=item:25218 and it seems that when it came the right ponytail (he left, but our right) was broken off. From what I read in the comments, it's a pretty common issue with these. Would anyone recommend a good way to re-attach this? Epoxy, super glue, etc? The seller doesn't want to pay for the return shipping and my girlfriend already paid for shipping and doesn't wanna return it having to pay shipping twice (which combined is 1/2 the price of what she got it for), so, she figured she might as well try to repair it.

It's hard to have a cure-all for this sort of thing. I've fixed broken straps on my Megahouse Leina with testor's model glue (orange tube) and fixed a broken neck on my white Arshes Nei with PVC cement. Just try to avoid compounds that will melt the plastic the figure is made of.

I didn't even have to click it and I knew what figure it was
or atleast had a good idea

you can use plastic glue from hobby shops. If done right, it should look pretty good since the part is very light.

Got this in today!

It's a little more "lewd" than I would normally go for, but it's so cute. She's even cuter in person!

I also got my mfc profile updated as far as big figures go- still have several smaller ones to add, but that'll be done slowly over time. Feel free to add me if you want!

Omg Halloween Miku looks so cute. Can't wait to snag her.

Can't link a direct image on my phone.

Oh wow, she is super cute. I may have to get her! What I'd really like, though, is a scale figure based on that art. That'd be amazing.

How long is the pre-order window usually for new figures? Although, who am I kidding.. It's not like I am going to skip that Racing Miku.

Until the retailer in question sells through their allotment, usually. Unless it's direct from GSC, but they'll post on their site when pre-orders close.

I did something stupid this evening. I decided to refresh my memory on WWII Japanese naval history and I read up on Shimakaze ;.; Now I really want a figure of her. Shimakaze was a one-off super destroyer and the only japanese destroyer armed with 15 torpedo tubes each able to launch the most deadly torpedoes used in WWII as they could hit targets as far as 25 miles away. The range of every other nations torpedoes during this time was about 6 miles just so you can see how much more high tech the Japanese were. Also Shimakaze was one of the fastest destroyers in the world with the ability to reach nearly 50 mph. Uggghhh, how can I not own a ship girl based on a boat as unique as that!

So did anyone order the standard Yamato?

I did- I like the whole effect of her like sitting in the water on the heavy armament version, but I don't really like the guns. I'm just getting it because it's a really beautiful figure and I know I'll regret not getting it even though I don't even know what ship girls are.

So if you wanted to collect every Japanese Battleship of WWII that would mean 12 figures :O. Glad I don't plan on doing that. Now imagine if Kan Colle was an American thing and we had companies like Japan does that do quality figures. There would be 150 Aircraft Carriers and Escort Carriers, 30 some battleships, 100+ Cruisers, 400+ Destroyers, 500+ Escort Ships, 250+ submarines and over 10,000 amphibious ships larger than the tracked duckboats that were the main landing crafts, plus thousands of minesweepers, supply and auxiliary ships. The Horror :p

Of course if you were Germany, you may not have a lot of surface ships but you would have over 1,200 submarine figures :p

It sounds to me like you need a Shimakaze in your life.

[Sorry, I know. N-Y. But she's sold out everywhere else! If you think the price is high, it isn't. The last several that sold on Mandarake went for 10k and very quickly. She's exclusive, so her price will only rise given her popularity and how well she came out.]

You know what to do.

Or you can go with Good Smile Company's version, although personally, I don't care for her pose/expression. I haven't played the game, but I much prefer her more...dead-pan seriousness rather than the snide/lewd one. Still a great figure, though.

Sweet, thanks to you both. We'll give it a go. Yeah, it's not a very heavy part at all, so hopefully, it should be okay.

I'm in for Mario, Pikachu, Kirby, Samus, Peach, Link Amiibos.

Hope they do other Fire Emblem (Nephenee!) and Animal Crossing characters. And hey, a Splatoon one would be nice.

Yes please. Nephenee is true best FE girl.

You've already ordered Yamato. May as well order another boat girl to complement her. :p
