MS conference live updates for Aus+Japan gaffers. :D

...

:_( But not for Nintendo/Sony ones... How unexciting.

I'm not caught up with E3 news, but did they go back to the full scale videogame expo like in the past or is it still a tuned-back E3?

Now that I know I'm not the only one who did this, I feel better. :lol

Who else??

I quit my job :)

I'll definitely be watching mostly Sony stuff, they've got so much going on and they're hyping everything up so it'll be interesting.

Killzone getting it's own presentation, dear God, Sony invests too much hope in this game, it's starting to get a bit pathetic.

I was gonna say soemthing about how it's actually pretty smart of Sony to take advantage of all the controversy around the title, but now I can't remember if there's actually any controversy or just internet people being internet people.

In terms of announcements, I think it'll be about the same. But of course not open to the public.

However the booths are actually smaller than previous E3s (iirc), someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hang on a sec have the times changed? I swear that the times were as follows (In GMT)

MS: 4:30 AM
Nintendo 5:00 PM
Sony 7:00PM

Have they changed or did Gamespot just screw up the times on their site?

There's hype, generated by the controversy. The Killzone '05 trailer was the PS3's MGS2 trailer, except it took too long for Sony to come out and say it was CG. It's been over 2 years since then and we've seen nothing of the actual game, everybody wants to see this thing so they can get some closure.

Dubai time is GMT+4, I think that means that dubai time is PST +11. Can could someone make sure that I've got the times right.

Microsoft press conference: 7:30 am on 11th July
Nintendo press conference: 8:00 pm on 11th July
Sony press conference: 10:30 pm on July 11th

Add an hour to each of the times above and you've got the right times. Dubai time is PST +12, as GMT is PST +8 not +7 as you have assumed.

Not too bad in terms of times for me (BST):

MS: 4:30am
Nintendo: 5:00pm
Sony: 7:30pm

French Summer Time is GMT +2 amirite ?

So then :

MS: 5:30am
Killzone : 7:30am
Nintendo: 6:00pm
Sony: 8:30pm

Quite good indeed !

I realise that no one may be able to answer this question at the moment, but does anyone know if either Xbox.com or Gamespot are going to have the MS conference for streaming 'on demand' after the actual conference itself has finished?

I've decided against pulling an all nighter, as tempting as it is, for the MS conference this year (04:30am for those of us in Blighty) and will instead hopefully watch it when I get up in the morning.

So Sony is the last of the Big 3 and has the most conferences of all their divisions, eh........

PSE3?

As the original poster says, the reason why he has so many Sony events listed is because he copied this information from his Sony invite. Both Microsoft and Nintendo are doing events besides their press conferences.

Gamespot should, they did last year. You can still download E3 conferences from them from 2004 I think.

I'm going for it this year. Since I'm really interested in MS' conference, I'll be getting up at 5.30 to catch the conference. I don't want to miss the Killzone stuff either and that's just after that. I'll make the most of those days, sinde afterwards I really need to start grinding on my bachelorpaper.

:lol :lol i think we need a server to share videos instead :p
We did that a few years back but it wasn't such a good idea based on bandwidth costs and all that due to people spamming the site elsewhere from what I remember. After that we sort of tried to do it in DC and it sort of worked, but you're better off getting videos from the main sites I guess.

They should do something about the guests. When it is E3-TGS period there are too many guests and the forums aren't working smoothly......
They should put a upper limit or somethin' on the access number of guests. You know, give priority to the forum members.

I think I'll just use gamefaqs to keep up with E3 news. :lol these 500 - Internal Server Errors are pretty ridiculous.

I have a feeling that no matter what sony shows for killzone it won't meet expectations. Even if they were to show the 05 trailer in realtime or something equally impossible.

In a monent that is a milestone (E3-TGS) those internal servers errors are very unpleasant. They should do somethin about that gluttonous horde of guests.....
When there is E3-TGS a gluttonous horde of guests "invades" neoGAF.....

I second this emotion. My GAF E3 predictions reflect this.

I think that the conference will concentrate on HALO3 and HALO Wars rather than any big reveals. I think that TGS and X07 could be bigger events for MS this year in terms of announcement IMHO.

But in saying that, I have a feeling that we might get a new game announcement from Rare.

I think Banjo is going to show.

whats there to hold back? most of the top tier games will be released during the fall, usually when the X shows happen.

Games that they have lined up for the future, like 2008 on. We have Alan Wake, some of the Rare games, All Points Bulletin. We really have no idea what they are doing now for the future as far as games. They probably have more deals lined up like they have done with Remedy, Epic, or Bioware. Ed Fries spoiled them from acquisitions forever it seems, save for Rare and Lionhead. They will make more deals to get things done. I'm presuming X07 is when we will see what they truly have to offer as far as exclusive content.

I think that's what people are going to be saying after the conference, but in reality, it's just that their '08 is just a paltry, dilapidated Straw Man in comparison to their Guinness Book Of World Records shattering '07.

I mean, Mass Effect is hell of delayed, so it's getting the Gears treatment, but who's going to give a **** about a game we've already been gawping at for almost two years now? Few. Extraordinarily few.

I suppose it's possible that they've been sitting on some remarkable new IP, LBP-style, all year, but that seems unlikely. More likely, they'll just be trotting out stuff that they've been showing for two years now like Lost Odyssey, and maybe a hint of PGR4, only because they're '07 line up is so overloaded with awesome that it's oozed into Q1 '08. But once my birthday rolls around and April begins, things are looking pretty slim, and I think their e3 showing is going to reflect that. Since e3 '05, they've been hyping the same two years of content, what they've seen as the critical time for the console, and not really venturing beyond that. They've built up some amazing new IPs, but their sequels probably won't be as exciting a reveal as something like HOME or Little Big Planet.

They've spent the last two years blowing the same load, and I don't know that they've got enough to get it up again. If anyone will end up "losing" this new e3, it'll probably be them, unless they can swerve some kind of Rock Band connection. Or somethign completely out of left field.

Well, I have a feeling that after 07 they dont have that much else to show. Most of the content coming out this year has been hyped for the past 2 years.

I believe we will be seeing the likes of Blinx for '08

Edit - beaten.:lol

But that's also part of the fun :p
