The Spirits Within ended up being a misstep for Square, but one element I always found fascinating was their ambitions for the main character to appear in different roles with slightly tweaked designs in future movies and games by the company. This video goes over the technical details of her model, their intentions when creating her, and how well executed the idea was in The Spirits Within itself. I also go over a similar character named Laura who was featured in 3 games by Warp Incorporated: D, Enemy Zero, and D2. Would you've liked to see her reappear in other projects to see how well the idea would've worked? Do you think SquareEnix would revive the idea today or at least have her make a cameo in a new game?
