At one point at around 55-60 % he debuffed my team, how to get that DEF/ATK debuff off my units?
I tried Cecils limit, Noctis limit, Rains leadership. the debuff still was there

The only way he'd be debuffing your units is if you didn't seal something. ATK/DEF is fire, DEF/SPR is lightning (need hybrid or magic damage to seal), MAG/SPR is water.

What is each character sealing in your setup?

sometimes chasing yellow crystal can be as deadly too.

I remember spending around 30-35 pull for Shine and still didn't have her until now.

That's why i will conserve my lapis. Doesn't want to be the only one who don't have Tilith or Rikku.

Don't know if I'm personally too keen on pulling heavily for Tilith. Doesn't she need some awkward TMRs that nobody else uses like Equip Staff to be good?

Yes. The time will come when Maxwell gets 6*. In that Banner there will be again 3 base 4* units

SoM banner will forever be my biggest disappointment. I got a rainbow on a ticket and it was a troll Snow, then they fixed troll crystals basically right afterwards.

Still salty, I really wanted a Randi.

It's the same every turn (sans the thresholds). So he'll hit you with each element, every turn...unless you seal.

Unless you're using abilities....that doesn't seem like enough. Especially because Refia won't be attacking. Take a dual-wield Noctis that can cover 2-3 elements every turn.

oki, so when it is my turn if all my units attack they seal everything for that turn, but what if I dont attack with 2 of my units that have seal for Fire and Thunder, and when its gilgash turn he decides on attacking with just fire or Thunder. how would I know what Element he is using next?

You dont

His AI just has a Pool of abilities he can choose to cycle through. The reason you seal them is so that you limit the pool to the weakest strikes in his arsenal of which he can do 6-8 actions a turn

So you most definitely want to seal Fire, Holy, and Wind every turn. Thunder after 50% and Earth and Water IF you can

The trick is redundancy and hybrid attacks. The goal is maintaining control every turn and slowly and steadily bringing him down.

Quite honestly you only need one unit to DPS and the rest on sealing and Defense. I dont even recommend wasting turns on dispel unless you are lacking any form of Mana recovery

Basically you want to

1. Seal
2. Slowly dps and build up esper and LB/buffs to prepare for each threshold
3. Cross threshold with maximized defense. Rinse and repeat

Protip. Units with counter give you free seals for that Turn. This is amazingly helpful on Tanks (since they will take the most hits if you provoke) like Cecil since he can use that turn to buff, support, heal instead. Counter is also great on any unit that is sealing with weapons

Yes

Save golem summon for when you plan to cross a threshold. Helps mitigate damage a lot

You dont need to seal on threshold crossing turns so if you know you are about to cross , Prep for defense

Cecil will be most likely to die each threshold from the instant KO, so probably someone else. Bartz with DW thunder spear/air knives and the Water Blade ability materia covers 3 elements, and Rain with Rune Blade and Lava Floor would cover the rest.

You WILL mostly likely get a death here and there

This is why defense and sealing redundancy is so important

Having mutliple units able to seal at any given moment as a backup is super useful so keep that in mind when building your team, assigning espers and materia etc..

Priority goes to Fire, Thunder, Holy and Wind into those tough situations where you are trying to recover

Thunder Spear doesn't work. (Unless it grants thundera?) You need it as a magic or a hybrid damage ability.

Also, you don't need to seal Thunder until he is 50%.

Attacks combine all elements. So using Water Blade while equipped with a lightning weapon and a wind weapon gives a Water/Lightning/Wind attack.

Of all banners not to split up. The could have taken off Soleil and Lawrence and had Gaffgarion recur here and be a bonus unit.

Yeah, no, Gaffgarion is too desirable to be on this banner. Orlandeau has to be a trap banner; no other way to introduce the meta breaker.

You may also want to consider what Iceman said - Gilgamesh gives you a breather round the third time you seal him with water - so you may not want to Water him every time. but it's up to you...

The only important thing you NEED to know is that Sealing his Thunder elemental attack has a special condition

It HAS to come from magic. All the other elements can be sealed with Both Magic and Normal physical attacks

If you just Normal attacked you would only seal Wind.... Because physical thunder attacks CANNOT seal his thunder attack



Just so you KNOW. Bartz already has a Hybrid Wind attack. So you could just equip yourself with a Water and Thunder spear and seal all 3 with his Wind Hybrid attack and save yourself a materia slot for something else!! (However Wind Shear is a VERY expensive ability at 45mp to seal with so you may not want to do this)

She is very good

Can do 5 turn AoE 40% Defense and Attack buffs, Has single target 100% buffs and has AoE counter Curaja and 70% element resistance (great for protecting against elements you couldnt seal in a pinch)

Shes quite awesome actually

I will use Cover and have that up all the time if I can. Will be using Normal attack on Noctis I think... no need wasting MP on Warp break ?

If gilgamesh is buffed "green up arrow ontop of his head" should I dispel him with Fingersnap from Bartz? hmm cant do that as I need to Seal with water blade...Any recomendations there?

Use strong earth attacks and units with Man Eater if you have em. Since you are new the best thing would be to hit the cactuar dunes hard this weekend and max your units.

Maybe even snag some whale friends that can one turn that fool unless you are going for legit kills

You might want to ask a few people on here to share Noctis with Chiri/Excalibur so he can cover multiple elements

Fire/Holy with physical and Fire/Holy/Thunder with Thunder flask

Thunder flask should be a backup and you should have Ramuh on Refia for a second backup. Flasks use a LOT of MP and MP management is just as important which is why water blade is so useful. You honestly want your dedicated sealer to have auto-refresh so they can use hybrid attacks indefinitely

When I did my run I only used the CHEAPEST mp moves and even then I had Ling who could restore mp when I needed. So youll have to strike a balance in your fight between DPS and MP management.

I would suggest using Items for the 5 man run and then get the no item reward with a team of 6
