It took me 40 to pull Victoria. Not looking forward to that kind of nightmare for 9S. That kind of rarity is just simply not sustainable in the long-run.

EDIT 2: Oddsbitch also agrees that the expected value for ANY on-banner gold crystal to appear even ONCE is 1 every 42 pulls.

I'll disagree with this actually. We seem to be getting better bundles, more tickets, and other bits.

If they are going to be giving us a 10+1 pull, 6-8 tickets, Raids and Mogking should start to include more 4* tickets. It's going to balance out in the end.

As a F2P player, it will become harder to snipe what you want, but you will get more in general. Which is why I feel a lot of the complaints don't take into account that aspect. Yes, the new average will be 40. But our rewards have been getting progressively better and should continue on. Just playing naturally should get you all the non-5* units. Only ones you need to worry some about are the limited time, but again. We have been given the tools every single time to beat every single challenge.

The "real" batch 6 in JP is a whole lot of "nope for Global in it". Tidus and WoL enhancements? <insert Tidus laughtrack here>

IF that happens (and there is no guarantee that it will happen on Global anytime soon), then you have a point that should be seriously considered. The problem is that we simply don't know when that will happen (wasn't JP well into Season 2 before Mog started selling 4* tickets?). Gumi could be more generous in the future, or they could be going full pillage mode and are trying to take advantage of the Global population while times are good for them. At some point, I do agree that the pendulum will swing somewhat back into the players' favor. But, it could be a long time before that happens.

Just to touch on a couple things here - per JP players on Reddit, her attack animations/frames are such that it can apparently be a bit flighty to perfectly chain copies. She's the move-to-attack type, similar to Aileen, so you need to account for that.

Her 999% self-destruct move is not Balthier/FV level because it does not take weapon element into account and also does not benefit from killer effects. It also obviously doesn't DW. So it's actually pretty mediocre. This could get fixed on GL? But I wouldn't hold my breath.

More broadly, none of the JP players who talk about 2B on Reddit are particularly positive about her. No one is saying 'pull for her, she's so good!' or 'great situational unit' or 'definitely worth the lapis'. The overwhelming sentiment is 'use her if you are a Nier fan or you pull her trying for 9S, but not worth the lapis to chase her'. I don't want to dissuade anyone from pulling for her! But know what you're shooting for. Onion Knight (who is going to be here as early as the following week) seems like a way better unit mechanically.

Doesn't matter to me. I think people can still get a lot out of her if they have her. I personally just want her because she's awesome in her game and I think my group could use another person I can build up fairly easily as she comes with Dual Wield as a base. I doubt I'll be able to get her because they made this banner with two 5* units. It just pisses me off because it's already hard enough to get a rainbow and will be even harder to get her. It's frustrating. Either way, there aren't any other characters I want going forward, so I'm gonna go all in on this one.

I doubt I'll pull this off since my track record with limited units is extremely low. I did get Tilith, but that's it. Maybe I'll get a 9S along the way.

Yesterdays cactaur got her to 30. Todays to 40. I get no luck on Great or Amazing, but that's okay. She's going to be part of my main pewpew group once she caps out. How is everyone else doing in the Mog King event?

I finally got a Yang yesterday. Then decided to do more story for 5k today and got another Yang so I can finally run a full team of Yang and Edward...

Damn, nice!! I got Gilbert early on. Saturday my husband pulled a Yan for me, thank goodness. Been a little easier to get guests with bonus units. I guess 'cuz I've gone up a few ranks. Plus I've had a few folks friend me with bonus units. Probably because so few have bonus units they're jumping on when they can with folks that have it. I've been enjoying that.

Right now I think I have over 60k saved up. Only spent enough to get 30 Fairies' Writ for OK and CG Sakura. And all 100 Cactaur to cap off Tidus, cap off OK, and got Agrias to 97. (She capped out yesterday.)

So much I need. But this is really the first Mog King event I've jumped into since starting. Mainly because I didn't feel like I had a crew to get anything going.

Well, he is only a 4* and no unit in the foreseeable future will be Dark Veritas great. His TM will make all future, very hard, Mog King events a cake walk at very least. Also, that PHY mitigation skill will also stack with general mitigation skills, so it's just absolutely fantastic and it will benefit you, you just don't know it.

9s' tm is amazing, giving you access to several really strong abilities akin to a rikkus pouch, of which an 8 hit chain and a 40% aoe mitigation move...

dv and 9s have 2 different strengths to go by, i wouldnt compare em. and yes to 2b's tm/katana~

Fortunately, I have gotten the units I need up, so it's helped. Had a rough time initially with the 10RNG one, but since I've gotten my units up it's dramatically helped. With a badass Rydia from someone here, I can run the 13RNG one while up. But having two bonus units without my current group having amazing gear means I'm stuck in 10RNG. But I'm getting somewhere at least.

Holding off on buying anything major til end to figure out what all I can buy without screwing myself. Only sad part is it is just a mace for gear in this one. ;_; No one can use that in current batch. Will probaby end up buying and saving later. Got lucky and got the Katana from Raid rewards. Gave that to Tidus in mean time. Working... slowly.. on Camille's TM for Tidus. No Zidane, Gilgamesh, or Abel, so only way to get it right now is hers.

Edit: I see they have Trial up for this event now on JP. LOL no thanks. I know I will get slaughtered.

Yep, MAG (Heaven's Fury) is the way to go. She comes with a built-in 50% MAG increase when equipped with a sword, so Letters and Arms is great for her, but even just Enhancer + whatever MAG materia you have around is fine. She's a great unit.

Here i am, thinking i was the blessed child getting orlandu and dv with my first 5k pull. Did 25 more tickets and dailys only to get 1 more ev. No Victoria for me :-/...though my lapis pull will overshine any misery.

There are multiple setups, going from the really long ling (6~ hours), to i think v's tidus? and I hear a well geared dv can do it. I don't mind gearing my ling for this, but with faster options, i doubt she's as desired for this carry anymore...

Ha that is kinda crazy... The thought that fragile Ling would be able to solo Dark Ifrit/Siren is kinda awesome.

But yeah 6h is quite a bit so I might wait to see if there is faster setup with another unit.

Thing is have DV on that account but he is quite lackluster without the TM gear on a barely played account.

Could m low spec 600atk DV chaining with a high end DV one shot one of the espers? I doubt it. So yeah waiting for that carry complete package xD

Genji glove only gives 10% atk which is a lot less than 24 most of the times. Also Katana has a blade mastery materia and some units have initial blade mastery. I could Greg or Noctis liking it. Or Orleandeau or my dv.

I'm sure many will find the katana useful as blade mastery is one of the easier masteries to farm for. However as someone who also have access to a number of masteries for swords, greatswords, spears, and fists, it is not that appealing to me as I can use these other masteries for my offhand weapon. Also, these 12 weapons are supposed to be some of the best in-game weapons with unique perks. While innate DW is nice I think it could have used a little bit more icing on the cake with some extra atk and maybe some extra ability thrown in ;p

It's certainly not bad at all, but to me it just seems like a slight upgrade to what I already have.

On Veritas awakenings.

Dark Veritas is getting a 1H weapon, DH trait. His 1-hit attack that imperils is getting a damage boost and grants him Killers for Beast, Human, and Dragons. Impact is getting a big damage boost and now imperils all elements in addition to MP reduction. His chain attack is getting the standard buffs.

Fire Veritas is getting two Large damage increases to Full Charge Stomp but no activation enhancement. So uh, that might be really powerful, lol. His Attack buff is getting a duration and potency upgrade too. Incoming 5 Turn 100% ATK/MAG? He also gets a new skill called Double Axe, it seems

Light Veritas gets a Heavy Armor ATK/MAG up traits and can use Saint Buster for 1 turn at the start of a fight. Increased Killer damage on traits, Ultima buffs, Saint Shot getting damage buffs, and increased imperil turn effect.

Water Veritas gets a similar Heavy armor trait but for MAG/SPR. Also gets a 100% Water Imperil counter on physical hit. AOE Silence/Confuse attack gets a SPR down and changes to a new attack called Psycho Skewer next turn. Water's Ability Unlock is getting duration and buffs to the abilities you unlock too. The defensive buff is getting a magic damage cut added which is new, I think. Up until now it's only been all damage or physical damage.

Earth Veritas gets HP/DEF with heavy armor and HP Regen. Guardian, is getting buff similar to what EV got in GL. Inflame Process (100% Provoke) is getting some kind of interesting parameter change effect and a a 2 turn damage cut making EV like Wilhelm and Gabranth

Wind Veritas gets HP/ATK and a bunch of killers when equipped with heavy armor. All the jumps are getting damage increases too.
