That may have come across a bit brash and I do apologize in truth. I wasn't expecting it either and for those who did take phys carries and 3+ event units probably lost 25 energy so I'd be pissed too but I always take either a mage or hybrid dealer with me since Gumi did start these types of shenanigans, but I do need to realize not everyone has that because rng wasn't in their favor so again, apologies.

I don't think they do. He'd basically just replace him with some better chaining option off other OK owners. May as well keep saving as VotD would have been the better chainer for me.
Sadly, I only recently pulled a D Fina (Nier Banner) and never pulled an Emperor or Beach D Fina. Tim and Victoria are also very new units. The only Mag TM I'd have a chance to work on before now would be Vanille's (which I have been the past few weeks along with Tim and Victoria, for Fry) and Letters & Arms.
Rod Mastery, some 30% Mags, Earrings, Siren's Robe, etc should all be fairly easily obtainable for most here though. And Creepy Mask if you were around back then and free Zyrus Rods during Easter.

I was actually surprised at how much mage gear I had accumulated without even realizing it or TM farming for them.
Outside of a DW TM and Emperor's rod, all of my 911 MAG T.Terra's gear came as freebies / event items / raid TMs:
Mateus's Malice, Draco Spike
Creepy Mask, Siren's Robe
Earrings x2
Dual Wield
Rod Mastery
Power of Creation
Sage's Prajna (will replace w/ Malboro's Whisper eventually)
Up until the Nier banner, I only really used mages for arena (dual Exdeaths chaining -agas w/ Noct's flask). Now that I have a Rainbow Mage to build, I finally started farming mage TMs. Currently I have 3 L&A + 2 Vanilles in my TM Team and will later get Timothy's Hat and D. Fina's bikini (+20 MAG over the freebie Siren's Robe didn't seem like a good use of moogles). Thankfully, I had saved enough Zyrus TM moogles to get 2 of his Rod (I moogled Emperor to 100% for his Rod because I got him before the second Zyrus).
My GF got an OK from a single pull from daily.
Got jealous so I did two 10+1 pulls primarily to get two Desch for TMs. Got an OK as well. So not bad.
His LB is pretty great as well. 800% AOE with -74% enemy defense + 105% ally attack buff. Its been very useful for that ELT boss since I can build LB upto him and he has high defense.
I can get upto 1149 ATK with Large Sword and OK's own sword. With Desche's TM that number will jump to 1179. So around the ballpark of A2. I wonder if there is a better way to build him? At least for now he needs to be non-elemental.

Lool I don't think you need to apologise. I just found your post hilarious because it was true, albeit blunt haha. I usually take someone with magic cause as you say you never know what kind of nonsense will be thrown our way. It was because of the 4 man challenge I was like ok dps, tank, debuffer, healer. I'm not that bothered about the 25 nrg though.
I personally would appreciate any bonus units as I'm not pulling at all.

Haha I will admit I don't have the best mage gear but I also have been slacking with regards to tm farming. Really need to get on that. But yea, my DFs clear this fine with +2 Ultima

Behemoth & Sol fights sure don't fuck around lol. Full elemental resists, 45% atk/def/spr/mag, still 1 shot whole team. Got all the missions done except for no deaths on Sol. Guess it will be easier later on.
Managed to pull Desch & Sara in 3 tickets. Might go for a 3rd banner unit for farming, undecided.

1 Daily, 1 Ticket and 1 Multi Pull = 1 Desch, 3 Sarah. Good enough for me I am not buying much from this MK anyway. I also got Water Veritas whom I didn't get from the last banner. I always get banner 4*'s on the next banner....every. single. time.

[JP] Man Lila really has one of the best looking sprites in this game. She's actually not too difficult to build as the last event gave a fist weapon which I didn't realise. I have one more step I can do on the banner, but I'm completely out of lapis so will need to wait for one last attempt at Sephiroth. I am happy with Lila, but will probably need friends to put up Sakura or Rydia occasionally for this team to work.
My plan was to just kill him and have Stonaja from EV occur for the overkill. Sadly that didn't work out haha.

Best I can do is Aria ATM...
You can get 95 lapis daily for doing 5 daily quests (including the one for 3 event wins) and 5 arena battles.

Ok so I made a solo build that works
Its a little edgey but it allows me to carry
Fryevia
Enhancer and Any other non element sword (preferably something with a good passive of some sort)
Creepy Mask
Sirens Robe
Magistral Crest
Genji Glove
3X Letter and Arms
Undead Killer
Odin Esper
Gives her 711 MAG
Round 1 - Frost Flash = One Shot
Round 2 - Frost Flash. Doesnt One shot but Lamias get paralyzed. Just use a cheap skill to finish EDIT: One shot is possible if any of your other units can contribute some small amount of damage or Buff/Debuff

How many points are you guys getting per run? I am getting 790ish on Pro and 1380ish on ELT. But last time I died on ELT, so it's a bit tricky. That's with 1 friend to carry my sorry team, my strongest unit to break/buff and then bonus peasants.
I'm getting 2k+ per run with 1 carry and 5 bonus units. 400-425% bonus.
You'd actually lose 46 atk if you swap the Champions Belt for Desch Earring. Don't forget that 2xChampions Belt also gives you 40% bonus for Fist Weapon.
And sad to say, Crimson Slayer is not Onion's BiS. If you swap Crimson + 2 Wisdoms for Demon Mail + DKS + Sworn Six Earth, you'd gain 10 atk more.

Like most of you, got my ass handed to me on ELT with a 4-person physical team. I kinda want to kill him with a phys team just to spite them but it would take forever. A single Alterna from TT can one-shot that fool anyway. I saw the sea lion a couple times but it only drops 100 fangs? You fucking kidding me Gumi? Yeah there's no way I'm sticking with this event for long.
Gotta triage this shit. I already have > 400 sq so I don't need that. I've still got over 100 of most awakening materials and almost nobody waiting for an awakening so those can mostly go. At my rate it's going to be over a day for each 6k ticket so I'll drop them too. New currency estimate is now ~35k. I suppose I can stand to do that much.
I do actually like the designs in this event though. The castle is cool and that demon looks sick.

Done with this banner. Honestly going to just try and ignore the game for a few months and just do quests and that's it. Not worth the aggravation of getting units that should not be in a Gacha pool that has shit rates to begin with.

OK! I doubt many have him but most can field a half-decent mage squad.

Reading how easily some of you pulled onion Knight got me to try and burn 10 tickets. Walked away with 3 Sara's so at least I have bonus units.

Anyway it's pretty funny/sad/stupid to me that this event is designed in such a way that the banner units are pointless. Why the hell would designers ever want to do that? It's a serious fuck you to whoever pulls onion Knight and takes him into elite.

Honestly if I could understand japanese I'd dump this account in a heartbeat and start over in the jp server. The game is very good and I love playing it daily but these rates are just killing me
Mature accounts don't even need to farm MK events with full parties. What's the point? Don't worry about pulling anything more than 100% bonus or so.
Crysts come faster from Story Events. TM% comes faster from macroing. 6* mats are abundant unless you're awakening a bunch of duplicate units for messing around or whale for/luck into every 5* unit on every banner. The abilities are rarely worth buying and usually if they are you only need one or two.
Tickets and equipment are all you need to extract. Add Gigantuars and 6* mats as needed. Star Quartz if you want.
I ran each difficulty once and ELT twice today. I'm on pace to get everything I need by the end of the event running it 3 times a day, ignoring bonus mobs, with 100% bonus from my party (one daily, one ticket, two Saras) and +100% from Onion Knight friends.
Farming more reduces the amount of TM percentage I can extract (2% x 13 days = 26% x 5 units = 1.25 TMs). Spending additional lapis or tickets is stupid because all it does is hasten how fast I finish, but I still "have" to do 3 a day for the daily. Also wastes resources I can use on better banners.
Look at a Mog King event as a way to get 11 pulls over the course of a week to bank for later, because that's all they are these days.

Yeah sry to hear....its just a bummer because saving up those resources as a f2p takes quite some time and you pretty much always pull shit....as you said, the game itself is good but with those pulls it just difficult for me to invest too much time into it.
For now its back to just logins...wont even bother with Arena or Daily Missions - whatever you do it never amounts to much at the end when its pull time....
