Do you have to create an account with square enix to play the game? And does it have their drm integrated into it? How does all of that work? I've noticed that for ports of previous instalments some users have talked about issues with this,
There's nothing in the launcher or game that suggests it does, although with the caveat that I -did- jump through that hoop previously (FFVII or FFXIV, can't remember) so maybe my steam ID is tied to a Squeenix ID or something.
I mean, you could get it, download it and then refund it if it hits you with a login page, heh. But no, I didn't see anything related to Square Enix accounts.
Does not know about DRM, but you don't need to create account, just choose resolution from launcher and you ready to play.
Touch screen doesn't work too well for this, unfortunately.
Ha-ha, really?Hail to the King
Jump rope 1000 times without tripping and obtain King of Jump Rope.

Anyone got screenshots comparing the updated models with the old ones?
Yeah, I usually go to 300 if I can be bothered because you get a few cards from this minigame (though they're not exclusive to it), but I've never bothered getting 1000 for the key item.
Edit: Huh, 18% of people on Steam already have the 1000 jumps achievement. Is there some hax going on here?
Yeah, all Steam achievements can be hacked just by downloading Steam Achievement Manager and ticking a box.
Surprise-surprise, its Unity engine remake/remaster, that's why your Xbox one controller may not work in win10.

Unity has been known since the mobile version released, I don't see how it relates to controller problems though.
Unity is known for xinput issues, which is why there are other popular implementations of it that work better.

But isn't that why they have XInputDotNetPure.dll in there?
Hopefully it can / will be fixed, controller is the only way to play for me.
That looks really great!
Wow..
Is this the first PC old-FF release that didn't have an original PC release? FF7 and 8 both had PC versions.

I mean, to be fair, none of the achievement systems are secure as a CFW PS3 can unlock trophies, Vita could using the email app exploit and 360 can with a hard drive or memory card reader. It's just that the hoops someone would have to go through to do that are greater, so you don't see it as much.
There are two types of people - the ones who have something to prove w.r.t. gaming, and the ones who view achievements as simply another form of frivolous yet enjoyable hobbies like collecting stamps, etc.
Doesn't really matter what other people do or don't do - only thing that matters is what you get out of it, really.
It's not like one day you're gonna walk up to a job interview and then present a printout of your gaming trophies or something.

(also, did they improve the battle framerate?)

The game seems to think I'm using an Xbox controller, because it's using Xbox button icons in prompts (such as the stage fight). But I'm actually using a DS4 with DS4Windows.
Anyone seen a way to change this (or know if the assets for PS buttons exist at all in the files)?
Isn't that the point of DS4Windows? Makes the controller appear to games as an xinput one, not directinput (or something)?
Well, anyway, controller works fine otherwise I guess? Cause I'm not playing the game on keyboard, no sir. VII had shit controller support iirc, never got any of my controllers to work fine with it.
Any details on the game boosters, like a list? Are they immediately available?
When FFII and FFXIII exist, dissing IV seems cruel.
Despite not really caring about earning trophies for myself I still don't like the existence of SAM as for me the most interesting thing about achievements is the overall percentages. What percentage of players reached the mid way point of a game, beat the final boss etc. Knowing those stats are all inflated ruins that somewhat. There are two types of people - the ones who have something to prove w.r.t. gaming, and the ones who view achievements as simply another form of frivolous yet enjoyable hobbies like collecting stamps, etc.

So does squareenix do good sales on this types of games on steam's big sales sooner than later, or they usally go for 25-15% at most?
Saying this becuase I have a huge backlog right now, but the game 20% off becuase its on release, and would incite me to get it now.
I could see it being 50% off during the Summer Sale. That's around what most Final Fantasy games get.
