Pre loading be up! But my friend is saying it got released early? I dunno.

Looks like its releases now. Preorder discount on the steam page is gone

An amateur need not consider the potential cost in testing the whole game in every situation and fix every small issues. That's not insignificant human cost.

I agree. The second link shows another amateur going through the whole game to find the bugs. As I mentioned, it's a beta and therefore needs testing and improvement.

How much more do you think it would cost though? 'Not insignificant' is not very specific. Keep in mind it's an HD remake with many other changes. The game had to be tested anyway.

... they released the game six hours earlier than supposed to? While that's a good thing, I can only begin to imagine how many were going to pre-order between now and release.

What a mess.

My heart weeps for people who wanted to pre order the day of release.

There must be dozens!

Quick looks at the options launcher.

Resolution only allows 1080p and 720p. I only have a 1080p TV, but even changing my desktop resolution to 4k it still only shows 1080p and 720p.

If there's an option for it at all, it'll more than likely be possible to set it somewhere else - Check for config files and manually edit them or something.

What kind of sadist wants to play an ARPG on the keyboard?

The only thing I disagree with with the options launcher is the PS4 let you go back and forth between the game and the main menu where some of these were toggles, now you have to leave the game.

Is there an options menu still in the main menu once the game is loaded up?

There is an options menu in the game, which allows you to change most everything the launcher has except resolution and graphics options. I can't find a config file to edit. The only thing I've found is a TYPE0SYS.bin which is located in

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyType-0HD\save\SYSTEMDATA

And you need to press ESC to exit the game.

What? What happened to "advanced graphics options for high end PC users" ???

There's additional options for Anti-Aliasing (None, Normal, High, Highest), as far as textures the option is Normal and Low Res, Shadows are Off/Normal/Detailed

One of the features advertised was increased blood effects, is that a toggle inside the game's options but not in the external tool?

For the people saying it's limited to 1080P, do you have a 1440P or higher monitor or TV? I was going to play this on a 4K tv so that would be silly.

I have a 1440p monitor but I just noticed I'm below the requirements (560 non-Ti). I hope that overclocking the shit out of it will be enough for 720p.

I'm just going to guess that it doesn't have a config file and all the settings are done command-line.

4k is asking a little much for a PSP game... even a remaster of a PSP game. I am going to replay through it either way, but I was never really expecting this to be the next Crisis.

I am more curious to see what breaks when someone invariably figures out how to unlock the frame rate.

How is it asking much? Dynamic resolutions are an incredibly common thing. Supporting 4k is not the next Crysis, it's basic stuff. Frigging Idea Factory games support it.

Huh?

I tweeted their official Twitter asking about higher resolutions. I can ask about keybinding next, even though people asking for that need to not be weirdos and get a controller.

resolution options are an ancient feature in the realm of PC gaming.

cmon SE, do you know how full controller support works?

Okay let's go down the list of what's there and what isn't:

Upgraded graphics resolution options for high end pc’s
This implies higher than 1080p from PS4, lets dig deeper.

Improved in-game battle camera
Need gameplay footage to test this out

Full controller support
Non feature really

Full STEAM achievements and trading cards
Same achievements as console trophies?

Scalable motion blur settings
We've seen this

New Character speed boost
Needs testing

Increased blood levels from the original PSP version
Unsure if PS4 had this, need to compare

Customizable dynamic screen shot mode
Needs testing
