Final Fantasy VII Remake is a multi-part series

I feel like something like this should've been disclosed from the start. Or at least when something like this is revealed it needs to be properly explained IMMEDIATELY and not just mentioned as an after-thought in a press release. -_-

Well, that thread title was quite a gut punch. Of course there had to be some sort of catch. If it sounds too good to be true....

I hope that the episodes will at least be priced accordingly.

Distasteful, shameful, disgusting and inappropriate by Square.

As an individual, I feel humiliated, ashamed, betrayed and fucked.

Thank you. Thank you Square.

You know what this means?

The ultimate cluster fuck.... NO overworld. It's going to be gutted and streamlined. An overworld wouldn't make sense for the episodic nature.

As long as each episode is good and priced reasonably, I don't mind. Hell, it would actually be nice to not have to wait as long, and to have a break every 10-30 hours so as not to get burnt out like I did with the original (and most RPGs for that matter). As long as each episode is at least 10 hours it sounds good to me.

Honestly I was wondering how a game with so many completely different environments and scenarios would be possible with modern production values, and I guess now we have the answer.

What the fuck?

Maybe the episodes will contain stuff from the main game, Crisis Core, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus? Just a guess.

4 parts game. 60$(or 80$ CAN) each parts. 240$(320$ CAN) for the full experience.

Oh yeah. :(

Nah man this Shit is retarded. Square Enix should cancel this game ASAP. No need to butcher this game any further. Sad thing is people will buy it too. man what a freaking train wreck this FFVII remake business has been. Nomura and entire square enix is just money grubbing idiot IMO. Maybe they will make a good game again in another 50 years when they are at the verge of bankruptcy. Oh well this just makes me super sad. I never even curse on these posts but this news made me do it. Shame on SE :(

Holy fucking shit.

This thread got real stupid, real quick.

Episodic is fine, but if they want people to have confidence in that structure, they should announce a full release schedule before the first episode comes out.

"Here is episode 1, we have no idea how many episodes there will be, or when they will release" would not inspire confidence.

But I suspect the reason they'd do it episodically is because the entire thing is no way near finished and they have no idea when it will be.

I feel bad for this gif again. Seriously.

This...basically ruins it. How fucking stupid. Way to completely destroy any hype I had for this. I've defended you so much lately, Square Enix. What a fucking joke.

this is exactly what SE has been waiting for...

They finally have their cash cow front and center and you bet your goddamn butts that they will milk it for every cent possible.

Final Fantasy (now the most ironic name in history) is already milked into oblivion, esp FF7, but they do find even more ways to milk. There should be an award for this.

Things that ran through my head

Episodic, focused character based chapters, linear, no access to entire world map, likely some Golden Saucer (real money) credit system, no more random side missions.

DLC missions.

All of our industry support for shit over ten years led to this.

Season one (Midgar) - 40$

Episode 1 - Midgar first half

Episode 2 - Midgar second half

Season 2 - 80$

Contains 5 episodes

Etc Etc

Look deep into your heart, you know it's true. Their gonna milk this shit dry.

At least we should get the first part sometime in the next 3 years (lol)

But we might not get the full remake of however many parts for like another 6 or 7 years from now if it is going to take them like 2 years to make a single episode, lmao.
