I turned diabetic looking at all that. ;/
Person buys FFXIII-2. Won't leave home for a week
"Watch"? So it's a video recap? I though there was only only a text-recap.
It looks like the person is preparing for a visit with the dentist next week >.>
Silly Cheska, people in Japan don't go to the dentist.

Thanks Kagari! You can use any PS3 save file by copying it and it will recognize it. I tested this It also recognized my US save despite it being the Japanese version of XIII-2... Any partial save file will work, actually. So yes... in effect you can play to the first save point in XIII and use that.
As far as bonuses, so far I've gotten the XMB theme but you also get an item that gives you more luck in the casino and accessory items for your monster allies. I haven't seen anything else yet.
Datalog screenshot confirms this (sort of).
Don't be so ardently quick to defend the game though, not until all details are out.
Just wait for lower price, since prices drop quick nowadays.
Ugh. The calories...Person buys FFXIII-2. Won't leave home for a week

I'm just buying it for the OST. It's cheaper this way.Am I the only one getting the NA CE?
Since we know the actual ending (didn't see it) is the story better or still Toriyama terribad?
How you finding the game, Kagari?
From the reviews on Amazon.jp it seems that many Japanese players don't think much of the scenario writing. It seems to be the most common complaint so far.

Okay. I played 4 hours and 30 minutes so far. Got past where I was when I got to play the game back in October...
So far it's better than XIII. It's what that game should have been to begin with. My only gripes are that graphically it seems slightly worse... Lightning's model and a lot of the NPC models are fairly poor. I imagine they were able to dedicate more polygons to Serah due to her lack of clothing.
At least the CG is an clean as ever.
The story so far seems all over the place, but I'm not expecting anything great at the point. I just met Hope andwas disappointed he never joined your party as a guest character :<
Being able to go back to areas is great. You can "reverse time" and redo missions if you want as well. Quests are a nice addition, although so far they've been a bit same-ish (ie, go kill monster X or go find item Y, etc)
Taking a break for now, but yeah.
There was a bit of NPC dialogue in the streams, and what I noticed--at least for the ones who give you quests--whenever they move their mouths while reciting dialogue, it looks strange. The mouth movement, in comparison to FFXIII to me, is a little odd. Did that come across to you while playing it on an actual TV?Okay. I played 4 hours and 30 minutes so far. It's true.
Can you do time reversals from the start or do you need to beat the game first?
I just hope it's not bad to the point I have to shut it off. I need at least some context or purpose for the characters to keep playing. I can't believe such a terrible writer is in charge of the story on a premier franchise. How can this be any different? The plot is written by the worst scenario writer S-E ever had.

Is this the first time Toriyama's tried his hand at time travel? I mean, if there's any way for a bad writer to get worse, that's the way to go.
sounds good. I'm not expecting much for this story. The FF13 world has lost the ability to tell a good story a while ago considering the weak foundation it started on, besides having potentially interesting lore (that wasn't capitalized on). Ah wellOkay. I played 4 hours and 30 minutes so far. Got past where I was when I got to play the game back in October...

Oh no. He proved he couldn't handle it in The Third Birthday.

Stocke was a good protagonist. They might've given us someone like him. They should have played Radiant Historia as a crash course.

I ended up getting spoiled on the ending elsewhere.
... Yeah, I can definitely see why so many people are absolutely pissed about it. Jesus Christ, Toriyama.

Far too much sweets in there. Wtf?

What are the paradigm setups for your characters? Is leveling up Noel in RAV identical to Serah or do they have different set of skills and bonuses? How many monsters do you have?
Toryiama is not matsuno. Anyone playing ff 13-2 should be really aware of it and know the quality (Low) of the plot
I think he is pretty great. FFT is some next level shit, and Vagrant Story is the tops. Those 2 alone are enough to be considered great. And although Toriyama sucks, we've gotten some good shit in the past so it's not unreasonable to expect a good plot. No one is talking triple A quality, but something enjoyable. And Matsuno isn't really that great anyway so I dunno why people are expecting quality in the series.
is Hope going to get shirtless in this game?
Don’t lie to me Kagari, I’m putting my trust in you. :IKagari said:So far it's better than XIII. It's what that game should have been to begin with.
I love Matsuno and Tactics' story, but “next level shit”? Really?-Pyromaniac- said:FFT is some next level shit.
They're not randomized. Usually you get offered one new role each time you expand, until you have no roles left to get. The order of the roles you get is arbitrary for each character. So Serah always learns Healer last, etc.As soon as you expand the Crystarium the first time, do you have the opportunity to open up a new role, or do you need to work on Atk/Bla/Def first a little bit before the game offers you a new role?
I'm also wondering if the "Crystarium Expanded!" bonuses are randomized...
yes it is next level shit.Dont lie to me Kagari, Im putting my trust in you. :I

Is this what I sound like on Matsuno threads? D:

I thought Delita was one of the better written villains in the RPG genre. Even Ramza is well written. Even some of the side characters are. I thought the story was great, and a lot do. The localization wasn't the best on the first run, but good story none the less.FFT has an incredibly goofy plot, and Vagrant Story puts you into a cool world with little character development. Matsuno can write great worlds, he simply sucks at characters.
so are there actual towns with npcs and shops to buy items/weapons? Can you go into buildings in the towns or has square not advanced that far yet?lol, don't worry... I haven't beat it yet. My disappointment can't be quantified yet
That's cool but it doesn't really convince me of Matsuno's talent. Anyway, this topic is about FFXIII-2.I thought Delita was one of the better written villains in the RPG genre. Even Ramza is well written. Even some of the side characters are. I thought the story was great, and a lot do. The localization wasn't the best on the first run, but good story none the less.
That isn't too bad. At least they're offering the player choice per expansion. They're not randomized. Usually you get offered one new role each time you expand, until you have no roles left to get. The order of the roles you get is arbitrary for each character. So Serah always learns Healer last, etc.
