Is it really necessary to spoiler-block FFXIII in this thread?
Not everybody play's a games prequel. Like I started with Bioshock 2, wanted more, then played Bioshock 1.

It seems to me when you're playing a plot-based game that is a direct sequel to a previous game, you're asking to get spoiled.
Nice Op. Have they said what the save file from XIII gets you? Last I hear you didn't even have to have a clear file, just a save of the game. Probably just items or gil. My plate is clean and ready for a game. Was going to get Skyrim on PS3, but found out its pretty much shit.
Now I just need to know the release date for Tales of Graces F.
If you're posting in a thread about a game's SEQUEL and you don't expect spoilers from the first game then I don't know what to tell you. There's a difference between manners and having common sense.Regardless, common courtesy is to spoiler tag spoilers. I know we live in a time where manners are going down the drain and all but we're GAF, let's at least try to look nice.
Save file transfer will net you some extra monster decorations, higher success rates at the in-game casino's, and that's it.
There's also a new game+ mode.
Nice.
There is also a costume system? Well, we know Noel can get one from the Assassin's Creed game. I wonder if they show up in the cutscenes.
Yessir ! All costumes.
Oh? There is more? I'm sure all DLC? They never put those in games anymore. Yeah, I can understand they won't in the CG's. lol.
Ummm... XIII-2 itself spoils you about the events of XIII within the first seconds you start the game and XIII-2 trailers have also spoiled the ending, so who gives a shit if spoilers from XIII are posted here. There's no need to add spoiler tags and it's okay by NeoGAF's rules not to do so, when it's a straight sequel to a game, if I'm not completely wrong. You can't spoil XIII-2's story in this thread, of course.Regardless, common courtesy is to spoiler tag spoilers. Seems like the DLC is all over the place. Is the AC costume for Noel DLC or a preorder bonus?
You should watch some trailers of the gameI actually loved FFXIII and I'm just not feeling the hype for this (great OT though)...
what is wrong with me? :{
After being disappointed with XIII, I just can't seem to muster any excitement for XIII-2. I'm still going to be there Day One in the U.S. but I'm not really stoked or hyped like I was for the first entry, despite the fact the Squenix looks like they've improved all target areas.
Maybe some impressions or hearing the soundtrack will do the trick.
You changed your name again?
I'm planning on getting this as my first JRPG.
edit: oh, it's not out on Christmas? Valkiriya Chronicles it is then.
Are you doing a review for that site you work for, Kagari? Square Enix needs to hurry and send you your moneyhat!
Well I got the perfect ending in that game. The bigger problem was, if you skipped a cutscene, you were pretty much screwed from getting a 100% completion.
Well, There's Pre-order costumes, DLC costumes, and I can't imagine they would include a costume feature without having unlockable costumes within the game itself. Pure speculation that last one ... but it kinda makes sense.
What was your previous nick now again? <,<yea but this is definitely the last time, i think.
Can't wait!Yeah, I'm doing an import review.
There are far more things you should consider as a "first JRPG."
Well since you have never played such sort of games before; you will probably get stuck at chapter 7 of Valkyria Chronicles (SRPG). I would suggest you to get something else (easier) for your first JRPG.I have only PC and PS3.
Good times. I actually didn't know till the end whether I'll get a 100% or not, but I did.Yeah, I got the perfect ending too, first playthrough. I had a handy guide (I downloaded it initially so I would know where all the side quests started) that was kind enough to warn me about all the bullshit that could screw you out of 100%, so I thankfully avoided it without having to do a second playthrough.

There's usually a lot of difficulty spikes and repetitive stat boosting. Valkyria Chronicles is no different, if you can take that. I would love to list tons of examples of beginner console JRPG this gen but I honestly can't think of many from memory. I would suggest something like Tales of Vesperia. For PS3 only uhhh yea I dunno.. White Knight Chronicles 2 ? lol. Good luck out there?do JRPGs have some unique mechanics when it comes to difficulty?

Well, I'll buy FFXIII then.
I hope I won't be dissapointed.
But VC looks better from art and story standpoint and these are as much important as gameplay to me.
I would go for FF9 off PSN but that's just me.
I'm also a graphics whore. I would play FF12 though it it was there.
Eh, English FF12 isn't worth bothering with imo. Though if you could get the international version, you might just have the best FF.
is it on PSN? And what is the difference between international and english versions? I heard a lot of good things about this game.
Neither are on PSN.
English version is slow, grindy, and too easy thanks to no limitations on character growth. The international version lets you hold a button to double the game speed and utilizes a class system to make character development more thoughtful. Ludicrous drop rates (fuck you, Hell's Gate Flames) in the original version were also tuned.
